The Book
I was thinking of buying the Art Of Oddworld book(this topic is orignal) and was wondering what is so special about the limited edition copy.Besides the 100 dollars more.
|
The contents of the Limited Edition are no different - all the same artwork, text and quality. The main corporeal difference is that it's hand-bound in leather. The real difference in price is because it's limited and numbered. Rarity automatically makes something more valuable. :p
If you're purely interested in the artwork, plump for the paperback. For a book lover such as myself, the Limited Edition was a must. Also, the Limited Edition is more sturdy and will survive longer. I really wish they'd have released the Folio Edition. |
I wouldn't get the limited edition because of the price but I would get the hard cover over soft cover because it will last longer and its only 10$ more, in the end I decided on neither
|
for mr regular fan, the paperback is enough
for die hard fans, then it's the Limited edition ;) |
For die-hard fans with way too much money, that is.
|
I'm getting the paperback version for xmas, I can't wait lol, my special present!!
|
how much does the paperback version cost?
|
you can find all info you want here:
http://www.ballisticpublishing.com/books/oddworld/ |
I'm getting it from a UK site, www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk, for nearly 26 quid, I can't wait!
|
That's much less than they were selling it on Ballistic!
I thought there was only a special and a hardback edition. I have the hardback, and I keep it in the box it was shipped in. Woe betide it ever be in the slightest bit damaged! |
I keep my limited edition in its box, but I refer to my hardback with great frequency. Removing it from and replacing it in the box that often would result in more damage than ordinary shelfwear.
:
EDIT: Hmmm, my surprised smilie actually renders as one of shame. Or oral. |
Well on Amazon UK I think they still stock the hard cover versions, I'm not sure though.
|
I ordered the Art OF OWI and it should come in about 1-3 weeks.
Edit:It came and it was well worth it. |
