Coffee Vs Tea

What are you? Are you a Coffee Drinker or do you prefer Tea? Or are you weird like me and don't like either? And to keep this thread from having one word posts, what type do you drink?

Nate 08-19-2006 05:48 AM

Ewwww!! What sort of wierdo would drink tea?! That stuff tastes like cat's pee, only without the interesting tuna smell.

Seriously though, I always liked the smell of coffee but I never drank it until I had my first full time job that was 8-4:30 with an hour's drive each way. First two days I survived on Red Bull and once my supply dwindled, I was forced to resort to what was labelled on the packet as "Nescafe Industrial Blend". No kidding.

So, as you can see, my coffee tastes are not very cultured, though I do enjoy some coffees more than others. Here in Oz, Gloria Jeans kicks arse, as does the small cafe on my campus. Starbucks is okay; certainly better than I expected when I first had some.

As for tea; I don't drink the stuff because I don't like the taste. I could probably get used to it like I did coffee but I don't really see the point in putting in the effort.

Sassenach 08-19-2006 05:52 AM

I prefer tea, by probably more than a million miles.

Bonedust 08-19-2006 05:55 AM

I dont drink coffee.

I like em both. Coffee is good for the mind, tea is good for the soul. Or vice versa.

One of the best hot drinks I've ever tasted has been apple flavored tea.

What I like about both of them is that they're hot. I like hot stuff.

OANST 08-19-2006 06:54 AM

Lipton lemon iced tea. Only kind I can drink.

Kamille 08-19-2006 07:18 AM

tea at any temperature is good

Spirrow 08-19-2006 07:22 AM

I drink the occasional coffee early in the morning. Mostly it's just
those french vanilla types, but sometimes Nescafe and Mountain
Blend as long as it's with sugar and cream or milk.

Tea I only drink when I have stomach aches, or as long as it's ice tea.

OANST 08-19-2006 07:42 AM

Coffea gives me gas. And if you haven't noticed, my bowels already hurt.

XD I hate the taste of coffee I only like the smell

SeaRex 08-19-2006 09:26 AM

Coffee!

*exaggerated anime-style peace sign and winking with action background*

Nath 08-19-2006 09:41 AM

I so prefer tea. Usually English Breakfast. I sometimes have Earl Grey when the time is right. Tea has more caffeine.

Coffee is something i only have at the start of work when i'm really really tired and don't have enough time to have a cup of tea. Then i have an espresso with lots of sugar and a tiny drop of milk to cool it down so i can down it.

Mutual Friend 08-19-2006 09:43 AM

Tea. I like it.

UP THE PG TIPS!

Dusan 08-19-2006 10:18 AM

To spirrow: Is there 'nescafe' type of coffee. It is just a brend as long as I know.
to wolfpack: You could just post in 'Coffee'' thread, and not make a new one. Anyhow
''Coffee'' and again ''coffee''.
Latte and cappuccino. Dose two things are the greatest. Long Esspresso sometimes.

GTdragon 08-19-2006 11:54 AM

I prefer both ^__^ although coffee makes me crash and tea makes me have to pee alot O_O

Dark Elite_H2 08-19-2006 11:57 AM

I have british blood in me. I'd always prefer some tea over nasty coffee any day! (Well...except a frappachino. I cannot overdue that...)

Hobo 08-20-2006 02:22 AM

I drink both. But like neither.

Caffeine addiction?

Abe 01 08-20-2006 04:21 AM

Tea just tastes like hot water to me so I have coffee hehe need more

Alcar 08-20-2006 05:27 AM

Coffee.

Go figure.

Alcar...

AquaticAmbi 08-20-2006 07:44 AM

Tea all the way. Coffee causes me to make the same face I made at that poorly mixed margarita in Jamaica as seen here. It also gives people appalling breath.

Tea, on the other hand, can be refreshing when cold or soothing when warm with no bad breath afterwards.

skillya_glowi 08-20-2006 10:47 AM

Well, it actually depends with me...unlike tea, coffee has many practical uses...If I plan to stay up late, I make sure to drink half a pot of coffee. Real coffee, blacker than night. I just hate it when there's a load of shit in it, such as those Coffee-mate things. No sugar, no cream - or it just doesn't taste like coffee.
I also deeply despise iced coffee. Those Americans find a way to bastardize everything. Just look what they did to Pride in Prejudice....

I'm drifting off topic again. Ugh.. >.>

As for tea, it's nice to drink sometimes, in the afternoon. I prefer it strong, no sugar absolutely, sometimes with a slice of lemon.

Spirrow 08-20-2006 01:24 PM

Still staying strong, Skillya. You must really be trying to stay off those large
quantities of fatty poisons that created the America we know so well today.

I'd still use Coffee-Mate, but it's really no weirder than the next peice of artificial crap. What might that be? How about Splenda.

skillya_glowi 08-20-2006 02:32 PM

Actually, it's not much the fatty poisons, I just don't like the taste...

Leto 08-20-2006 08:45 PM

Recently was given a very watered down green tea. I'm a coffee person now.

Green tea smelled reminiscent of Ural.

Just how do you know what cat's pee tastes like?

Anyways, I'm a big tea drinker. I always enjoy a cup of honey tea in the evening before bed.

Iced coffee is good, though....:lick:

You're probably not brewing it long enough, then.

Iced coffee is fo pussies!

I kid. I like how you get more flavor from iced coffee. But nothing gives me that warm, caffeinated feeling inside like a nice hot cup.

Ninjaxe 08-21-2006 03:32 AM

I like Iced Tea and Iced Coffee. The proper stuff in HK. Not the cheap S***e you in cans/bottles here. Nothing near it.

Hot stuff...I would drink coffee if I have too but I like the smell of it and Tea is sometimes.
Nate...that what the sugar for...change the taste of it.

Do you any of yous put sugar in your coffee? I don't cause sweetens the true taste of coffee.

Fuzzle Guy 08-21-2006 04:00 AM

Tea. Early Grey. Hot. :p

I have English Breakfast, Ice tea. I own't have chinese though. I think It tastes horrible.

Ninjaxe 08-21-2006 04:14 AM

 Not used having condensed milk instead normal milk and sugar.
There are no milk exported. It technically goes off by time it reaches here and won't last long. The powdered stuff is basically used for babies and that taste really bad. I drank some. They use it many hot drinks. Ovatine (Hot Chocolate) is one and Holicks
