Results 2006

Well, we had an Exams thread at the beginning of the exam season, so it seems only fitting to have a Results thread so we can all boast and/or have a shoulder to cry on.

Alright, well my A-Levels ended with the grades ABC. A was for maths, I got that last year. B was for biology, C for geography. Hmm. My first choice of uni has accepted me, so I shouldn't complain, but I genuinely thought I'd have done much better. Seriously, I thought AAA wouldn't have been too far beyond my grasp. Oh well.

I also failed my British Sign Language exam for the second year running. Toss.

Your turn to 'fess up.

Hobo 08-17-2006 06:29 AM

YAY!

A for Psychology
C for Critical thinking, Maths and IT
D for Chemistry

Fine with that as i can easily bring IT and Maths grades up. Psych is immense, don't care about CT or Chem.

I don't get my results till the 24th. I am shitting it.

I needs atleast 4 C's to get into Music Tech College. I think I may have just scraped that.

Hobo 08-17-2006 12:44 PM

Cs at GCSE? Doss.

Sassenach 08-18-2006 10:38 AM

BBCD.
The D was General Studies.

Bullet Magnet 08-21-2006 04:58 AM

I just scraped into my BBB requiring University choice Marine Biology and Oceanography at the Uni of Southampton) with a BBC. Yeah.

B for Biology, B for DT: Product design and C for Mathematics with Statistics and Discreet Mathematics.

What a nightmare. They wouldn't let me have my results until I payed up £40. Don't ask. And If I had spent the previous night at home then I would have gotten my acceptance letter that morning anyway. Balls.

I also got a C in General studies, which was surprising, as I spent one paper talking about this forum, and another listing out jokes about science and philosophy. What a waste of time.

Why on earth did you have to pay £40 to have your results?

I haven't received my results yet.

I scored Advanced in my PSSA (state tests) last year. I'm hoping it's the same for this year. I know I definately ****ed up the English portion a little.

I know, but I am disrespecting you.

Fez 08-23-2006 12:48 PM

Results tomorrow.

Me scared.

Rex Tirano 08-23-2006 12:57 PM

I'm excited.

It doesn't matter what I get anymore.

I'm looking forward to tommorow, because after picking up results loads of people from my school are going camping for a mass drinking session in a field.

Does the drinking celebrate getting their results or something?

Southampton? You god! My firm offer for sure goes there. It sounds just right for me. Need to scrape my grades up though! I'll need ABB. ARGH!

If they do bad, they can drown their sorrows, if they do well, it calls for a celebration, my friend and I have aquired two crates of Fosters, stolen a fosters umbrella from a pub and we're taking our tent. :)

You'll just HAVE to post picturers of this event.

Rich 08-23-2006 02:38 PM

Why? What's so exciting about camping drunkards?

Wil 08-23-2006 03:31 PM

Good luck, you GCSEites.

Why, for the love of god, would you drink Fosters?

Wil 08-23-2006 08:17 PM

Fosters is the only beer my school will serve at balls and dinners.

Nate 08-23-2006 10:36 PM

You poor, poor child.

Although, you go to a school that serves alcohol. That should count for something.

Rich 08-24-2006 04:00 AM

The profits justify the means. It was on special offer and when you've had a few beers, they all taste the same and do the same job. :p

Anyway, GCSE results were:

German - A
R.E. - A
English - A
English Lit - A
Graphics - A
Geography - A
Art - B
Science - Double B
Citizenship - B
ICT - B
Maths - C

Not too bad methinks, but my mum'll attack me for not getting any A*'s. :p

Rex Tirano 08-24-2006 11:17 AM

I'm over the moon. I passed Maths~!! By the skin of my teeth but I passed!

Maths - C
Science - C
Drama - A
English Lit. - A
English Lang - A
French - A

XD I'm so proud! Off to College I go!

No, way. Are you going this year or the next? If it was this year I suppose you'd have your results already.

Fez 08-31-2006 12:34 PM

Straight C's apart from a D in French. I'm so horribly average.

The good news is that I get into my Music Tech course :)

Statikk HDM 09-03-2006 01:43 AM

Hey, I bet French can't be anything worse than German. That language makes me pine for Latin.
I'm worried about my college courses and lab exams in chemisty. I'm not ready for college at all.
