Well, I wanted to surprise you...but what the hell. I've mentioned the idea once before, I think it was around New-Year's, and I said that it would be done it approximately 3 months from then. Well, it took...ahem, a little longer, but except for a few minor adjustments (screenshots, etc.), the walkthrough is now complete. Yep, in the past 8 months I've written a complete guide to saving all 99 Mudokons, in a way the world has yet to see. It's saved as a bunch of .html files (or something like that, don't remember the exact extension), and I did it all in frontpage format, an dI'm going to host it on my friend's website, and why I am rambling on about this, I have absolutely no idea, but... Anyhoo, I have two things to ask. No.1: I would like to thank Havoc for the font that he unknowingly provided for the website (in parts, naturally) and Xavier for (some of ) the images. I'm going to have a whole bunch of shit in the credits section, but first I'm going to have to ask you two, in what way should I put your name in there (i.e. Do you just want your OWF username written, in what way should I address you?) or if you would rather prefer to remain anonymous. No.2: What are the preliminary measures that I have to take? Because Oddworld is copyrighted material, I know I need to have a disclaimer, what should I put in there? I know that on that other thread someone said, "Just copy it from another fansite", but I do have to be safe from all angles. And, how and should I notify OWI of this? |
In theory you should inform OWI but seeing as the fan-legal email address doesn't work any more, you're not in luck. Maybe try the old Alf address.

I'm afraid owi don't have much time for this at the moment, so copy the disclaimer from some other fansite and it should be good :)

I'm pretty sure that OWI wouldn't mind if you made a fan-made website, so just e-mailing them for permission should be no problem. Yet you might have to wait a while, being that they are in fact busy making a movie.
Another thing, I believe that you should, if there was anybody, put the down the people who had helped you complete your quest of saving 99 Mudokons. I do recall you making a help topic so many monthes ago too. But this is just a reminder, so just a heads up. |
show us your head image, or main image (if u have one). Sinjin is estetically oufyl, and u should play on that card (cause idea is not original, dont you think) Good luck!!!!

Dusan: I love the graphics Sinjin had in his site, BUT that doesn't make the walkthrough any more helpful...hell, the entire Zulag Four walkthrough was a few paragraphs long. I am so pumped! This seems so cool! And I read on one of the sentences, coming 2009, AE's walkthrough. This is making me so tense for what is to come.
Anyway, thanks for giving some of the guys who helped you some credit. This seems kind of a little better than Sinjin's. There are a lot of help sections before the actual guide. And so far, pretty good. Hope it's successful. ;) |
