:TRAINSPOTTING: [dusan]

Yeah, it's a movie. I read critics, and thay are all good. It's tragi-comedy [sp] 1996, 18+ rated, scottish movie (i LOVE english\irish\scottish movies). Drugs, Sex and drugs. Story is good, but I wana ask you: Does this movie deserve to be bought by me?

Fez 08-03-2006 08:29 AM

It's my fave movie EVER. So yes! Buy it! worth every penny!

Dusan 08-03-2006 10:15 AM

Thanks. I'll buy it soon as I find it, because in dvd shops near me, you only can find crap like superman's return, catwoman etc...

Why am I seeing my three favorite RHCP songs in you signature?

Statikk HDM 08-03-2006 04:51 PM

Rent it and burn it from your computer. Not that I've ever done that or condone said practice. But yeah, the movie is awesome, get it.

Rex Tirano 08-03-2006 05:48 PM

I only saw it a few weeks ago [I know Martyn; burn in hell and all that].

I really loved it. It's one of the only films where Ewan McGreggor [sp] is not playing... Well... Stereotypical Ewan Mcgreggorn like characters.

-- Spoiler --

But am I a bad person for crying when the kitten died instead of the character who died?

Dusan 08-04-2006 01:18 AM

I would burn it, trust me, but I want to have original version (cover and all of that).

rexy, who is martin.

Mega-mud! 08-04-2006 03:25 AM

yea its cool theme tune cool

Rex Tirano 08-04-2006 07:01 PM

Martyn is Fez.

And I was meaning 'Burn in hell' for only seeing it a few weeks ago when he told me about it ages ago.

Must promote actually going out and buying the dvd though.

Holy crap. People only just seeing/hearing of it? For shame. O:

It's good. Haven't seen it in a long while though.

Rich 08-05-2006 03:33 AM

Yeah, its great, I don't own it though... must get round to that.

Fez 08-05-2006 03:57 AM

I got it for £3.99

GEE, THANKS COSTCO :D

Dusan 08-05-2006 05:32 AM

£3.99..... it is 6 € and it is 500 dinars (don't ask)

hope I'll find it soon, or simply, I'll just gonna use statikk's advice

nice, 6 positive and 0 negative votes. It must be a great movie

Fez 08-05-2006 05:44 AM

Amazing soundtrack too from the likes of Pulp, Blur, Elastica and Iggy Pop.

Dusan 08-05-2006 05:52 AM

the passenger, great song... i have it

Fez 08-05-2006 07:32 AM

Acutally Iggy Pops contribution is Lust For Life. but Passenger is just as good a song.

Dusan 08-05-2006 10:21 AM

I have Trainspotting put in front of "The passenger", therefore I thought that song was from the movie. Anyhow The passenger is much better than Lust for life, but both have the same frame.

Fez 08-05-2006 02:29 PM

Aye. Passenger has been covered loads too. Michael Hutchence did a wicked cover.

Dusan 08-06-2006 06:38 AM

Never heard it. Iggy pop's verson, I think, is probably the best, or maybe it's just my "all covers are shit" way of thinking. Subconsciously, When I find out that artist isn't an author, I am disgusted at the song, and also feel need to find original verson of it (only if I like it). Why would anyone make covers? To show that they are better then the autor or just to make their concerts longer? It is so patetic for me......

Rich 08-06-2006 06:45 AM

Because its fun to play a song in your own style, investigate Muse's cover of Can't take my eyes off you. And it shows that you can play properly, anyone can play their own stuff and sometimes covers are better than the originals, such as Nirvana's cover of The man who sold the world.

Dusan 08-06-2006 07:19 AM

I was about to mantion "The man who sold the world", wich was one of my favorites, but now i hate that song since I found out (in music thread) thatr that is bowie's [sp]. In a fact when I found out greatest nirvana's song (by me) is cover, I kinda dislike that band (i'm not saying they are bad, they also have good songs like dumb, hart shaped box and polly).

Maybe I have some "problems", people allways are saying me that :P

edit: I never heard bowie's version, so i can't judge anything

Fez 08-06-2006 07:31 AM

You cover songs to honour that artist. If your a huge supporter of them and they have influenced them its almost a way of saying thanks.... Or something.

Thats just how I see it.

Dusan 08-06-2006 07:49 AM

Suporter? I would punch the guy in his ugly uncreative and ignorant face if he try to support me that way. No offence rich and martyin, I know you both are in the band, and maybe you make covers, but it's not the same with small bands. You have different intrestings then the famose [sp] one, if you know wgat I mean.

Anyhow, I was right. No trainspotting in Dvd shops. Hope i'll find it soon.

Fez 08-06-2006 07:57 AM

I'd be more then flattered if a song of mine was covered by another band.

Dusan 08-06-2006 08:03 AM

btw, I would like to hear one of your songs. Have you uploaded them somewhere.

Fez 08-06-2006 09:15 AM

We're nothing to get excited about. Recording our CD at the min though, should be done by end of the month. You can get excited then, we've spent bloody hours on it so it should sound half decent :P

You can hear some live recordings here. That was a good gig and everything came out quiet well. We're proud of it.

Abe 01 08-06-2006 10:36 AM

its coming to film four soon ill tell you when

Mojo 08-06-2006 12:05 PM

I thought it was pretty cool too. But if you wanna see a movie which will tickle your brains, try "Pi". Trust me, the ending will shock ya.

Dusan 08-06-2006 12:15 PM

Abe01: A? What you gonna tell me (you were talking to me right)

martyn: I'm not getting excited, just intersted in young bands like you.
Alternative, nice. I've seen your blog and soundfish's too. Intresting.
*Can't find anywhere any recordings cause I need to log in. Doesn't metter.

Alpha: I love to tickle my brain. Pi is a movie right. I never heard anything bout it, but movies wich arent so famous, allways surpice me, and dose from comercials allways disapoint me. It is some kind of rule, or curse....

Mojo 08-08-2006 10:27 PM

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pi_(film)

I thought it was a good film. My firends thought otherwise, but they don't got much brains.

Leto 08-08-2006 11:17 PM

God. How about we just make this the 'cool indy films' thread right now? :P
