Anybody? No? Dust?

Greetings,

I was just woundering if anyone likes aviation? (airplanes, helicopters, etc)

I used to play with cheap little airplane toys with my uncle when I was little... like a big styrofoam one and little thin, wooden ones that had wind-up propellers. Other than that, nope.

Mutual Friend 07-30-2006 01:17 PM

I have no interest whatsoever in aviation and never have. Thomas the Tank Engine was where it has always been at.

HOWEVER, you're relatively new and you have a dog called Harry, just like my cat. This is good.

I've been around just about the same time as you!
Well, you might have an interest when it was possible to cross the atlantic (london to new york) within 3 and a half hours instead of 7 hours.
They called it...Concorde

Mutual Friend 07-30-2006 01:25 PM

Well, new in the sense of very few posts.

SNAKES ON A PLANE!

Gabiar 07-30-2006 01:29 PM

i gave up on this forum because i was apart of too many.
But i'm back now with many quests...
(i would like to see that new film called "snake on board")

Havoc 07-30-2006 01:39 PM

Oh oh! I'm into aviation! Next to tigers prolly my biggest hobby ^_^. Mostly the fighter jet sector of the American navy/army is something I'm interested in.
If I wouldn't have had a problem with my vision I might even have applied at the Royal Airforce over here to become an aviator, but that will never happen I guess.
So to get close to that, I do have my very own genuine Pilot's Wings, as they are handed out to pilots in the American airforce/navy.

Gabiar 07-30-2006 01:48 PM

well, join my forum Here if you have an interest. It's a good forum (ish)

Havoc 07-30-2006 02:07 PM

I'l keep an eye on it, if things get interesting over there I might join :).

I used to be able to make paper airplanes. Does that count?

Gabiar 07-31-2006 02:08 AM

well, only if you have an interest in these things

skillya_glowi 07-31-2006 03:15 PM

I used to love aviation when I was a little kid...It kinda waned, I'm more into particle physics now. But it's still there somewhere in my heart, and I'm still interested in how airplanes work and all.

Gabiar 08-01-2006 08:27 AM

well, come here if you are interested. It's my new forum, still updating it. Oh, and Havoc, don't bother with the website i gave you, join the new one.

Or we could call you John, hello John.

On topic: Planes eh? Woo, great stuff, go planes!

Kamille 08-05-2006 02:36 PM

I'd say my favorite plane is the A-10 second being the F-15, I hate the design of the F-22 what about you guys?

Rich 08-05-2006 02:47 PM

Well John, I myself prefer the F-15 over both of those as it appears more sleek and modern. The A-10 has those bloody big ugly engine things sticking up on its back.

Kamille 08-05-2006 02:52 PM

your saying the F-15 looks more modern then the A-10 yeah, but your not saying it looks more modern then the F-22 right? Soem Biplanes are pretty nice I saw a great reproduction of a Boeing Stearman in real life.

Havoc 08-05-2006 03:30 PM

How can you compare an F-15 with an A-10?! An F-15 is a high altitude fighter jet and the A-10 is a low altitude ground troop support plane (thus the huge engines).
My favorite is the F-14 Tomcat. Followed by the Chengdu J-10 Mig, because of it's absolute pwning abilities in Battlefield 2 :p.

Wil 08-05-2006 06:52 PM

Omigod nerds.

However, folding paper into winged shapes is great fun.

Gabiar 08-08-2006 02:00 PM

i'm more of a 747-400 kind of guy, just remember, my forum!

Havoc 08-08-2006 02:41 PM

Commercial planes don't realy do it for me. You can't loop or barrel role in them XD.

Rex Tirano 08-08-2006 07:19 PM

I used to want to become a fighter pilot; but last time I checked they didn't allow women to be them.

But I luff planes.

Kamille 08-08-2006 08:48 PM

I always wanted to be a fighter pilot but I don't think I'll ever be able to do it, and I have bad eyesight

Rex Tirano they let women be fighter pilots in Israel I believe.

Havoc 08-09-2006 01:31 AM

They let women be fighter pilot's everywhere I believe. I know they have female fighter pilots in the US Navy anyway.
What you just might run into is the basic training. Many people believe that women are not fit for server the military.

Rich 08-09-2006 03:31 AM

Rexy, you're not allowed to be in the military. Even if you technically are, you aren't, not while I'm around. :p

Rex Tirano 08-09-2006 12:40 PM

Haha. Oooh I might have to try you on that one. :p But last time I checked [I am by no means an authority on the RAF {Royal Air Force}] they didnt allow women to become fighter pilots; pretty much for the same reason they don't allow women on the front lines.

That's good, just a shame I'm not Israeli [sp?]. I'm also glad tatin the US they have equality between the sexes.

But none of you can beat the old spitfire. Mmmm scrumptuous.
