Stolen Election

What we know: The margin of "victory" in this race was 3/10ths of a percent. Over 3 million votes have yet to be counted. Voter irregularities and inflated voting results in favor of the conservative Calderon have been found repeatedly, in varied areas, and vetted by the New York Times. http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Me...d_in_0706.html Ballots and poll results have been found in the trash The exact same hanky panky was pulled less than 20 years ago by the same political party. I don't think you have to be a tinfoil-donning conspiracy loon to wonder just what the Hell is going on in Mexico now. |
Out of interest, do you want to get into politics when you finish...whatever it is your doing?
...and on topic. Yeh, that election, eh? Wow. Stolen, for shizzle. ... |
You mean eating Honey Graham O's and diddling myself in front of the computer in my mom's basement to hardcore pornography?
Yeah, that is the plan. Edit:Gee, I guess voting fraud in a country of over 100 million people isn't that important or interesting. Even when you factor in the recent voting shenanigans in America and Mexico. At least not as important as the origins and meanings of the phrase "jump the shark", Muse, and toe socks. |
In comparison to what that article said about the american papers, the ones here have been rather pro-Obrador and saying how much the election is a sham.
Face it; the western world doesn't care about democracy any more. All it cares about is its own interests. Same thing with one of the other South American countries - Venezuela, I think - where the US was trying to depose the popularly elected president because he was promoting Socialism. |
I hate to nitpick but Hugo Chavez was actually democratically elected twice, once by a margin of nearly 4-1.
I didn't really read any newspapers outside of American ones on it except the Guardian. That paper is really on of the rare ones that has it together, you know? |
Continuuing on from my last post; Azerbaijan has a corrupt government that rigs the elections and huge oil supplies but 40% of the population lives in poverty. Why hasn't anyone made a fuss over this? Buggered if I know.
But it could have something to do with them giving assistance to the US in Iraq. |
They cut a deal with BP, didn't they? Anyhow there are a lot of corrupt elections but this one's coverage just really shocked me. Its right on the border of America and the election has major implications for U.S. relations is Mexico and nobody said boo. Its because Obrador is a leftist, if he was some far right person and the media and administration obviously thinks he'd be great for "business" they'd be screaming it was a rigged dog-and-pony show. Every time it has been discussed in American news business comes up. Hey, disenfranchising a 100 million people is a small price for them to pay as long as rich people in America get even more money, right?
