Who would you like to see make new Oddworld Games?
 

Oddworld Inhabitants as we all know gave up their desires to make games about a year ago now.
We all know now their going to attempt to do films and other sorts of media and you know what that means.
New games, and i beilive new ones will come just not directly of oddworld Inhabitants.
These games probably would be realeased with the movies and other forms of oddworld media and made by different development houses.
So if you were at the helm of oddworld who would you choose to make the next Oddworld games?

I personally would like to see Lionhead attempt to make the next Oddworld game under the supervision of Lornes Lannings and Sherry Mckenna, letting lionhead make the games would mean though these games would be exclusive for the xbox or more likely the xbox 360.
Another Development house i would like to see make an oddworld game is Pandemic, their the guys behind battlefront and destroy all humans.
These guys in my opinion would be perfect for making the game to The Brutal BALLAD of Fangus Klott.

who knows what the future holds for oddworld and theirs always a question mark over will their ever be a new oddworld game. Until an oddworld film is announced we'll never know.

if oddworld want to make movie tie inns, who would you choose to develop them?

Oddworld Inhabitants.

The majority of us would including me but i can't see that happening any time soon.
another developer seems more possible.

Unless a contract was made between OWI (OddWorld Inhabitatants) and
another game production company, it would be illegal for any other business
to create a game without OWI's permission.

I think since OWI created all the original Oddworld games, they should
be the company who continues the Quintology, instead of another
company running interference.

Yes maybe another helper but OI should be the main dudes.

madders right, OWI is small right now and they can't handle 2 buisnesses at once. So as they are doing movies now (Lorne's first love) I guess if we want to see games on oddworld again soon it has to be done by someone else then OWI

Lionhead sounds cool but I'm not sure such a big company would agree to take two guys from the "outside" to direct a new project. But if they agree it would be awesome.

As for Pandemic I don't know, they sound nice, but I never played any of their games. Plus TBBOFK is supposed to be much much more then a simply war/fight game. I've got the impression that the Pandemic games aren't as deep as the Oddworld ones.


My suggestion would be to ask Head First Studios, they are the ones who made "Call of Cthulhu, dark corners of the earth" and they realy succeeded to understand what the books were carrying as message and implented it in the game very well:

I dunno, I would definately recomend Big Huge Games for Hand of Odd, they did Rise of Nations which is by far the best strategy game I've ever played.

oddworld wont make any (games enymore)
except HAND OF ODD! which is gonna be coming about 3 year after
the movie.
hand of odd will end the quitology that makes oddworld die.

Oddworld could become commericially dead, but fans will carry it on.

And then when Lorne believes he let out his last gasp and OWI is going
down, suddenly thousands of fans cheer. That'll give him the fuel
he needs as a rebooster to think people haven't forgotten Odd-
world yet. I don't people ever will forget it if OWI keeps a steady
stream of entertainment.

Remember what happened to the Heroes of Might and Magic company? 3DO went bankrupt and sold the game to Ubisoft. That could be one thing that looms over Oddworld Inhabitants. But since Lorne made the switch from games to movies, unless the movie was an all-time bust, my guess is they won't be dying anytime soon.

yes I no that lorne is working on some huge comeback might even releas a game aswell as a movie, hopefully :D

Hmm, I thought you were suggesting that Lorne would sell the
contract for the production of Oddworld games to another company
like EA.

Oddworld will die soon after the movie flops. That is my prediction.

No, he was going to subcontract the work out whilst the primary design would remain at OWI. Which makes this thread a bit pointless as none of these companies would accept that sort of project.

Obsidian could probably make a good Oddworld RPG. Relic does good RTSs.

I personnally will see the movie repeatedly in my part to boster the box office takings. If everyone did that it would multiply the earnings five or six times. Still, I'm sure after the inevitable Oscar nomination/award more people will go to see it. Don't forget: alot of people have still not heard of OWI, but the film will launch it into global renown, for better or for worse.

Considering its impossible for Oddworld to give up thier games I'd say no one but if they did I'd want Nintendo or Sony

yes I doubt that you would know all that from guessing.

No way in f***ing hell do I want that to happen.Sony only cares about money, so they will make it some generic copy of another popular game. Nintendo will make it too kid friendly for my liking,probably.
