Windows Vista Compatibility
 

Anybody heard a rumor, that XBOX discs are compatible with new OS from Microsoft?If it's true - then we finally may pray ODD - hello MO and SW on PC!

That would be great, but, I am worried that AO and AE will not be (I do not know why, but on XP I can't use stereo sound for AE, and on vista maybe I couldn't use game at all)

I sincerely doubt it, simply because it would stop people from buying Xboxes.

you are confused because halo2 will be on vista, but you won't be able to play it with your xbox cd
you still have to buy another cd to play the game

I propose a jihad on Microsoft for consolizing Oddworld. I mean, most PCs have Windows anyway, and PCs cost a hell of a lot more than even the most expensive console.

What about emulators for XBOX. Can I play SW and MO with them on my XP.

An emulator would be illegal unless it was released by Microsoft. I can't condone using one.

As far as i know Xeon and XBCX (emulators of XBOX) in present time run only halo and turok evolution, so i guess this way is too long...if only a miracle'll happen:)

guys, you're just obsessed with this legal/illegal thing))))calm down, people)))we must harvest and enrich all about oddworld, at all costs...if i could run SW and MO on PC i would give this knowledge to all odd-fans...
this is not a dark-side or a pirate question since we are fans, not officials, so come on))let's rock!!!

I'm guessing that they are just releasing a PC version of the game like they did with the first one. It would only work with vista as a canny ploy to get eager little fanboys to upgrade their OS.

we try hard to keep it legal here, as we are almost the official oddworld forums ;)

allright then....don't you know any other odd-fans or forums or sites with materials about oddworld such as yours (maybe much bigger infos) and other stuff who have less problems with authority-question of yours?))

any other oddworld encyclopædia which can show us Maggie if we don't have th book?

no, the problem with making XBOX discs compatible with Vista is that the controller wouldn't be able to plug into the computer. I don't think it's gonna happen

That may be the best you can get without purchasing the book itself, but try to save these questions for the Q&A thread stickied at the top of the forum.

There is a way to hack the original Xbox controller for computers, as the cable actually is USB with a different socket at the end.

There are plenty of websites that explain it if you google 'xbox controller usb' but one example is this.
