Small update on Slogmeat for those that are interested
Hey guys and gals. I thought you might like to see some more concepts for the illustrated novel that I am still keen to produce. However finding artists and illustrators that have time to help has been a little difficult. Sapphire and my buddy Dave are still up for making it happen.

I find this concept art very interesting. The environments are very colorful, unique, and are orginal. I think that these pictures also resemble that there is a whole lot plot going on. May I hear at least some idea in what's happening in the story?
Edit: I signed up. ;) Also, I find that it won't be hard to find artists on the forums. There are many talented artists here, but although you may not be able to sociablly interact with them, all of them have scanners. |
i would help because ive got alot of free time but i dont hink youd like my artistic limitations im not that good an artist really look at my thread "my oddworld characters" if you like it then tell me but otherwise no probs

Thanks for your feedback. If you are interested in becoming part of the team, then there are a few things you might want to consider....
- We have space for 2 front end designers and possible room for a concept artist. - We are preferably looking for a sense of professionalism in the work. - It would really help us if you have the time to stay committed to the project, as we are finding it hard finding artists that have enough spare time to place into the project and still earn a living. - Must be open minded, creative and able to bring new ideas to the table. As for the comic... - It is made up of 3 storylines which intertwine to make the overall plot. - For each of the storylines we need an artist that can produce work of at a professional level. - The overall storyline is set on an epic scale and very detailed. - It takes place over different parts of a certain continent on Oddworld. - Some is very humorous, some of it is sad. Unfortunately I cannot tell you the key events of the story as we are trying to keep as much of it as fresh as possible. - I can however tell you it happens before Abe, Munch and Stranger. - You will also see new technology, such as vehicles, weapons and new pants that enable sligs to travel in various ways (code named sligamatronix). - And we have been very careful to stay true to the Oddworld style, yet have tried to bring new elements into the picture. If you think you could handle this then let me know and I could probably talk to in person about the project. |

Looking at your artwork I'm interest in seeing if you could help us with some ideas for the landscape used in the comic? @ SSP Don't stop drawing. Already your artwork is great for your age, and trust me with more experience your artwork can only get better. Would you mind doing me a favour? Would you mind drawing some more Grubs if you have time? @ Mudoko Jedi Unluckily we pretty much have the story filled out. However there are some parts of the story where we would like to use poetry/riddles, unfortunately I can't write it as well as some that you see in the Oddworld series and would be looking for someone to help us out with some ideas. Ooh. This looks interesting. I'm still learning about digially colouring artwork, but I'm getting quite good now. I'm cirtainly interested, I was planning to do my own comic strip.

Um, I just thought of a problem here: You'd need permisiion from OI to publish this book, presuming you are doing so and guessing that it is about Oddworld.
I'm quite good at drawing, but I don't really have the time, I don't think. If you're desperate, at least check some of my drawings first. Try the 'Oddworld anatomy' thread if you're interested. |
Good to see your on the ball Zerox. Thankfully we contacted Oddworld when we first started this project and have had no problems. Also don't forget the comic won't be in paper format, it will be online and of course free!
