Do a search, whether it be internet or forums.

Spirrow 06-16-2006 02:08 PM

I think I'm positive Oddworld is definitely not closing it's doors in it's game production just yet. Used: ) is right, do more research, they say
on other official sites that OWI isn't done with games. Maybe they're
wrong. Maybe they're right. You can't believe everything you hear,
can you.

Eitherway, I'm not hyperventilating, I still got plenty of Oddworld
games to catch up with.

OANST 06-16-2006 05:20 PM

It isn't true.

By the way, I'm a liar.

Spirrow 06-17-2006 06:04 AM

By the way, I'm a liar.

What is that supposed to mean?

Xavier 06-17-2006 08:50 AM

OWI aren't making oddworld games at the moment... that's a fact

Spirrow 06-17-2006 09:24 AM

Yes, but it doesn't mean they're going to never make one
again, are they. Besides, that interveiw was last year. This
is today. Things and choices change over time.

Mudoko_Jedi 06-17-2006 09:46 PM

he saying that they are making a movie right now.

Xavier 06-17-2006 11:05 PM

actually a simple look at oddworld.com's splash page clearly shows they are working on movies now

Spirrow 06-19-2006 01:58 AM

(scoff)
Last time I went there I got welcomed with a black and purple wall
slammed in my face.

Edit: Ah, now I figured out how to get back in.

Patrick Vykkers 06-22-2006 02:10 PM

It is unlikely that Lorne will never make games again. He will just make them a secondary project to the new OWI's movie projects. The games will be tie ins to the movies. The fates of the Habitales and Fearietales series are uncertain, but I'm confident Lorne is going to surprise us.

Xavier 06-26-2006 05:13 AM

actually he most likely dropped the idea, he registered the names, but didn't keep them.

Lord Vulcher 06-26-2006 08:41 AM

It is a pity that they have left the games industry. i just hope the movies will be as good!

Spirrow 06-27-2006 11:27 AM

I'm sure they will be, Lord Vulcher, don't worry.

Mudoko_Jedi 06-28-2006 03:11 AM

of coarse they will
by the way what is the faerie tale serieis I read the name somewhere but no info.

Spirrow 06-28-2006 04:50 AM

You know I've been wondering the same thing, Mudoko_Jedi.

Al the Vykker 06-28-2006 08:19 AM

If anything we've always seen Oddworld has had gorgeous CG/i. Gameplay graphics back in the days of Abe's Oddysee added to the game feel, but Munch's Oddysee and Stranger had gorgeous CG in the movie sequences - where the main story was being expressed anyways. But even the older games for their time had awesome CG too. So I'm excited to see what a full length feature will look like.

I believe that if the film does well, they might go back to making gmes. Unless the film does so well that they decide to make a sequel. I just hope this doesn't turn into another Beyond Good and Evil, where a great creation was released but then the hype of other releases weakened the marketting capabilities of it.

Xavier 06-30-2006 06:03 AM

yeah, other products release can strongly afect sales
I remember SW was released at the same time Mercenaries was released and that some people who would have buy SW did buy that other game instead.

Lord Vulcher 06-30-2006 06:27 AM

If a movie does come out, I'm definitly watching it, no exeptions.

Spirrow 06-30-2006 10:38 AM

How many fans of Oddworld wouldn't watch it.

I wonder if they actually intend to release it in theatres
or on DVD or VHS.

Xavier 06-30-2006 11:08 AM

I think Lorne is definately aiming for theaters, he always has been a person who's aiming pretty high

Spirrow 06-30-2006 01:52 PM

(bursts out laughing)

Yeah, I can already see the the posters hanging on the walls
of my town's theatre, as well as the looks on the peoples faces
who have never heard of Oddworld.

However, it's a possibility that if people watch the movies out
of curiosity, they may become fans of Oddworld, too. And
if the movies make success, it's possible that OWI might
expand even larger.

magic9mushroom 06-30-2006 05:14 PM

I hope there are more games, as a movie would never succeed. If so, they should keep Abe

E'l Scrabino 07-01-2006 01:27 AM

I read on a 'Dear Alf' thing, i think it was '04' that OWI aren't finished with Abes' story.

Spirrow 07-01-2006 09:44 AM

Abe has yet to free all the mudokons, so I don't see why
they would just end the story there.

Xavier 07-02-2006 03:54 AM

well the whole quintology is about abe's journey anyway :p

Lord Vulcher 07-02-2006 04:01 AM

:

Well, not really, MO was mostly about Munch. Abe was in it, but he wasn't the main character.

Xavier 07-02-2006 04:09 AM

well it's still part of Abe's Story about him rescuing mudokons...
actually the original plot had abe in the spotlight more often

Lord Vulcher 07-02-2006 04:11 AM

Yeah, but then a lot of things were edited and cut out of MO such as Sam the Mudokon Queen.
