Your funniest Oddworld Moment
Hey all, I hope this hasn't been done before and I'm sorry if it has! Anywayz what was your funniest Oddworld moment? Mine was on Abe's Oddysee where I was in Scrabania and it was the part where you are on Elum and there are the mines and you are on a platform and a Mudokon asks you for a password, this is what happened:
I was on Elum and I ran forward and fell off the edge and died, then the Mudokon just said hello for no particular reason, this had me in stiches! Hee hee. There was another one, on Abe's Exoddus where Dripik, Aslik, and Phleg and are talking and they say Abe would have to be invisible to get past them, at the time I was actually invisible because of a glitch, me and my cousin just burst into laughter. (Sorry folks my cousin was being a prat and made this thread when I told him not to, he got a hold of ma password >: ( |
I remember when I was at the begining Rupture Farms part where the thing that you use to get up or down was at the bottom. I walked too far, so I fell. But I fell inside the wall because of a glitch. So I was stuck inside tha wall and I walked backwords to find a slig on the other side. Since he saw me through the wall, he kept trying to shoot a me but the wall was in the way. So he kept on sooting untill I quit the game. Then there was another one. When I posesed Phleg, When he when to the telatranseporter or watever that thing is and said do it, I made him jump off the ledge. Since he died jumping off the ledge, it transported Abe insted.

was just an automatic effect. He'd say that if you were dodging flying mines or dancing a jig. Come maybe ten, twenty years we'll have computer so powerful that none of you Oddworldians will have to worry about sill old glitches like that. Though, maybe it will be your children playing. |
It's not about the power of the computer; it's about having a compatible operating system and/or the willingness of programmers to fix incompatibilities.

Well, I can live with those problem in video games. I
just hate how long it take to be able to play again after abe is killed. You have to watch the whole birdy scene over and over. It's the AI ( Artificial Intelligence) that some programmers don't care to enhance and make the game somewhat more realistic. |
I remember when I was in a Scrabanian Temple secret area, with the bomb. I accidentally walked too far and fell onto the screen below. Then I disappeared. Then the Scrab disappeared. It wasn’t as much funny as it was weird.
In reality it would take a LOT of pages to list all the moments during which I received severe stomach cramps for laughing while playing Oddworld. I also have a whole bunch of screenshots with glitches and stuff. I could make a thread with them or something. |

Well they're not exactly funny, they just freaked me out a bit, but OK...They'll be here around Saturday or Sunday.

A part I thought was funny was in the Scrab Chase level of
AO. When a scrab is charging after you and you forget to leap at a cliff ledge and fall, the scrab jumps after you into the hole screaming and completely oblivious to it's soon to be fate. |
One time when I was playing MO I possesed the crane,and then picked up munch with it.It was weird.

yeah, munch is always protected by the crane cage or something like that.
anyway, :rolleyes: my funny moment was when after i finished the scrabainian nests, i backtracked to the part with those two scrabs and those elevator traps. the traps magiclly reset themselves, so i mess with the scrab on the bottom. i was wondering where the scrab on top was so, i climbed up there (little did i know that he was standing there in the shadows). a while later, the scrab suddenly appears out of nowhere and tries to kick my ass (litterally) but i wont die. as soon as i step through the big door all you hear is over lapping 'uha' and he finnally dies. same thing happened when i activated the invincibility cheat in the mudomo vaults: every time i ran into a paramite with his jaws open, abe skids and goes uha 8 times before going back to normal. IT WAS HILARIOUS!!!!! :spin: |
Yeah, Abe does that "uha" thing sometimes to me with Paramites.
In AO, once I was runing, but if you jump to early slightly at the begginging of the Scrabanian nests, Abe ends up hanging off the edge on the other side, and the Scrab just leapt straight into the hole and died. I found that funny. Or when a Scrab kills Abe but he falls of a cliff, then the Scrab just wlaks straight off the edge. Morons. Once in AO, there is an area in the Scrabanian nests where you have to pull a lever to make a pulley go up, and under it is a hole with a chute in it that prevents you dying should you fall in. A Scrab just dies if it falls in, also. Its one of the last challenges. Once there, I normally wait for the right moment to pull the lever to make the pulley go up, so that the Scrab isn't in the centre, but then falls of the cliff as a result. Once, it went up the pulley. Unsuspecting anything, I pulled the lever so that it would come back down again for me later. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the Scrab dropped from the sky and killed me instantly. It gave me a shock at first becuase I wasn't expecting it, but it was rather funny afterwards. FLYING SCRAB ATTACK! Maybe with the Munch crane thing, he either managed to activate the port from the other side somewhere, or there was a glitch so that the cage either wasn't there, or the crane just went straight through the cage. In Feeco with Aslik, I often got as many sligs as possible (6) and faced them all at each other (3 a side) and made them all shoot at the same time. It can be quite funny, they all die at exactly the same time with multiple shot/splat sounds all at the same moment. Aslik laughs, at least. But I make him do that. Sometimes, if you misplace the Sligs in these circumstances, they'll end up shooting the Gluk commanding them. They laugh a second time, which they don't normally do, so they're obviously pleased. I often also beat crawling Sligs 'till they explode. More fun than electrocuting, and they certainly deserve it. What confuses me there is that Sligs aren't meant to be allowed to sleep in those things, yet they've been built there anyway. No idea whats going on there. |
They're not allowed to sleep without their pants on. Presumably they can sleep there if they're dressed.

Normally it does, but in that area it doesn't.
I disagree with Max because I don't see how they'd fit their pants through there, sledom not have their spine broken with the heavy metal pants weighing down on it from that angle. Seriously, I wouldn't think a small Sligs' spine is going to hold out against a pair of large, metal pants with legs on. |

When the Beas chase Abe, and he passes a meditating Mudukon, and the Beas attack him lmao He starts moaning and waving his hands above his head |

My funniest moment was in strangers wrath I was in the big dam and those tank like electriacl things was ataking me so ran around it a few times and when i stoped it kept goin around in circles.

They may be scriupted, but some of the funniest moments I've had is returning to Gizzard Gulch jail after bountying the last outlaw before Boilz Booty. You see Blisterz, Floyd and Duke in the cells, and what they say to each other and the Clakker guard is hilarious. I also like the scene with the Outlaws on the windmill.
"Which button activates the timer again?" "The blue one." "Are you sure? I thought it was the green one." "I'm telling you, it's the blue one!" "Okay okay, jeeze. I'll press the green one." *Blip, blip, blip blip blip blipblipblipblipblip!* "Oh no! You idiot!" KABOOM! |
My funniest one is in the A.E. intro when you see the blind mudokons and the storyteller says: They used mudokon slaves to do it. Blind ones who could not see. Ehh is there some blind ones that can see??!!.

Hmmm.... Abe was just saying they were blind and they couldn't see, you need to understand the in-game movies of Oddworld, Abe can be hard to understand when he is rhyming lol.

another funny moment was in SW, you know the part where you dock the boat on the way to fighting for that grubb village?... well, i took out the sniper wasps, and hit one grubb in the head, and it was stickng out of his head! i took another three shots at another grubb, two in the eyes, and one in the crotch!!! hahahahahahahahaha!!!!! (*giggles* omg i am sooooo bad! *continues to laugh like a maniac*)
my most favorite scene is when stranger had to get the password from that guy in the sewers: outlaw: okay, so the password is, ***beeepbeepbepbeeeep!* stranger: ***beepbepbeeeepbeeepbeep?* outlaw: yup. |
I like blowing Elum up. Shame he doesn't regenerate. Does he come back if you kill him in Paramonia then go to scrabania?

there is more than one Elum, so i doubt that could happen, but he does regenerate if you die.
