Pure Pwnage

http://www.purepwnage.com

Is this guy for real? I seriously can't figure out if this guy is joking or not XD. This arogant piece of sh*t thinks he's the best RTS gamer out there (i've seen him on his so called favorite game; C&C Generals Zero Hour, and he sucks big time). I would normaly find this kind of stuff funny... but I can just not stand the arogance of this guy, even if it's meant as a joke. I mean... jeez.

Facsimile 06-06-2006 12:55 AM

I've seen links to that on porn sites. It's obvious he's joking. Look at the way he types.

T-nex 06-06-2006 01:06 AM

OMG!! That's the coolest internet show EVAH!! :p XD
My fave character from it is Doug. He's really cool :P

Havoc 06-06-2006 04:20 AM

FPS Dough is absolute ownage XD.

BOOM! HEADSHOT! XD

When I was first looking at this I thought this guy was serious. But as I was watching later episodes he's obiously joking... I hope.

Nate 06-06-2006 04:34 AM

Eh, can someone please describe for all of us on dial-up?

T-nex 06-06-2006 06:21 AM

Well It's an Internet-show about Jeremy, a pro-gamer in RTS-games. The first couple of episodes are hilarious, and is about his life and how he sees the world :p
Later we're introduced to FPS Doug, a hyperactive FPS-game addict XD And well... It's basically how a game-nerd handles RL and Gaming and stuff. it's really worth watching :p.

dripik 06-06-2006 11:30 AM

I saw a few videos about game adicts, they're most fun to watch.

This Doug is the one who goes "Boom Headshot!", right? I've seen a clip of him driving, turning around and watching other cars... That was fun. Especially later, when he throws the keypad out. :D

I'll check the site later, no time now...

soulstice 06-06-2006 11:46 AM

What's 'pwnage?'

T-nex 06-06-2006 11:56 AM

Omg! Have you been living in a cavern?? :S

Edit: Pwnage is like... Ownage... :-/

"Omg did you play Comand and Conquer yesterday?"

"Yes.. I PWN!!"

soulstice 06-06-2006 12:16 PM

Erm, no. I just don't spend all my time on the PC.

T-nex 06-06-2006 12:29 PM

Touche XD

But words like Pwn and Own should be known by everyone :p

oddveteran93 06-07-2006 01:20 AM

I can only explain ownage and pwnage through examples. There is a difference between pwnage and ownage, not sure what it is though. An example of ownage is when my friend slipped on mud and fell on his back and he was all muddy and I yelled out: "hahaha owned!!". Owned and Pwned are also used a lot in gaming. But I like to use it in threats. e.g. "Shut up or I'll own you! I swear I will!!"

Bullet Magnet 06-07-2006 01:51 AM

Ownage noun 1. Term popularised by gamers to indicate an unfortunate event happening to another person. Sadist humour. 2. Term popularised by gamers to indicate supiriority over another player, often proved by repeatedly defeating said player in virtual combat. "I own you!".

Pwnage noun 1. See ownage. Ambiguous pronunciation. The "O" key is situated next to the "P" key in both qwerty and alphabetical keyboards. A typing error (see typo) made during the online gaming textual language resulted in a word and it's derivatives that quickly became popular, especially amongst shooter games. See also the/teh.

Havoc 06-07-2006 05:51 AM

They pretty much mean the same, but I like Pwned better :P.

Also, they pronounce it wrong >_>. You need to say them as you write them. You don't pronounce Pwned as Owned.

T-nex 06-07-2006 06:13 AM

If Jeremy pronounces it as Owned, we all should!!! Do not question PurePwnage :p

Nate 06-07-2006 06:32 AM

Eh, I figured it was always Owned when said aloud and that Pwned, being unpronouncable and the result of a typo, was only used in the textual format.

T-nex 06-07-2006 06:48 AM

lol just like "liek" and "teh"... they are still pronounced as "like" and "the".. Muaha.. You're wrong Havoc XD

dripik 06-07-2006 06:57 AM

You can pronounce pwned as pawned, but the meaning will not be the same anymore.

Just saw Doug's episode, hilarious. "The army is like FPS but with better graphics..." :D From a certain point of view, perhaps. But if there was respawning after you die in battles, wars would go on forever.

Havoc 06-07-2006 02:11 PM

'But I heard there were no respawn point in R.L, that kinda sucks'

I guess I love my language for this one though, as I can actualy say Liek, Teh, and Pwned no problem and the last one sounds much cooler then owned :P.

Their two words, and Jerremy is an arogant prick, so I'm not listening to him :P.

Joshy 06-07-2006 05:29 PM

I think Jeremy is the best thing that happened on the internet.

Statikk HDM 06-07-2006 08:25 PM

LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEROY JENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNKINS!

oddveteran93 06-07-2006 09:48 PM

OMG! WTFBBQ?!?!? HAXZOR! WE'RE GETTING PWNZORED! NO-ONE HAX INTO MY SERVER!! BANT!
You may hear that a lot when you play games in multiplayer.

Havoc 06-08-2006 01:52 AM

I hear it all the time. Gets a bit tiring. Wouldn't be if everyone would drop the 'z0r' behind it >_>

Wil 06-08-2006 04:41 AM

They are indeed entirely pronouncable. I don't know what you're all bitching about.

T-nex 06-08-2006 04:53 AM

We aren't bitching about anything :S... Why this sudden hostile tone?

Some people pronounce it one way others don't...

Wil 06-08-2006 06:14 AM

I wasn't being hostile. At least not seriously. I'm too much of a pussy to really be hostile.

Besides, I was more addressing people who were saying pwned cannot be pronounced.

Statikk HDM 06-09-2006 08:22 AM

For a while the Halo 2 awards were popular with some people I knew, much more fun than trying to say "pwnage" correctly.
"Ass-Assinated!"

used:) 06-09-2006 12:19 PM

I always pronounced pwned, "pawned" or "poned."

Wait, why are we talking about leet speak?

Does anyone know the etymology of the term "owned"? I know what it means, but where exactly did this silly term come from?

Havoc 06-09-2006 02:31 PM

Well, as in 'owning' someone in a game. There isn't much more to it then that.

used:) 06-09-2006 03:27 PM

Oh how the english language has sunk........
