Oddworld Mini-Adventures
 

On the Xbox Lorne should make a game called Oddworld Mini-Adventures where the games's style is like the old Oddworld Games, and Abe and Munch have Adventures, like a new Rupture Farms, or Soulstorm Micro Brewery and maybe you could travel to where Meeches still roam, and maybe meet 2D Scrab packs, and you could see how Vykkers would look in 2D.

Maybe, maybe not. But not a whole lot of people think 2D games are any good anymore. I would like that, but Lorne might make something like that after his movie.

But the only problem with packs would be shortened than the ones in MO. It would have to be 4 Scrabs or Meeches. Though that there would have to be different kinds of Scrabs to make sure Lesser Scrabs look different than Alpha ones.

I really hope Lorne makes more games, because I would die if Oddworld Died...

actually getting back to 2D won't be the most ambitious thing to do.

Making 2d games again would probably satisfy fans, but more likely put OWI out of buisness.

What? If it satifies fans, then more people would buy the games, they would get more money, and then OWI wouldn't be out of busness.

fans = small number of people these days, unfortuneately.

A new game would have to appeal to the wider gaming market.

Yea that would be a good idea, but i think most oddworld fans have gotten used to 3d oddworld now.

Well not everyone has a xbox. Most of the fans haven't played MO or SW yet :o (shock,horror) releasing something might capture some fans.

In releasing a 2d game to keep fans happy could be their downfall. 3 things I can think of.

1. Release the game in all console format.ps, ps2, pc, and xbox.
2. Might up time with their original movie project
3. More moolah and labour hours for the artists and designers

Note that Lorne can't draw to save himself. All drawings and designs go back to him and scrabbles words all over them. e.g. mouth too big, want eyes smaller etc. (Refering to the Oddworld Art Book)

Don't have it!! Shame it keeps me entertained when not playing the games.

Never thought about that... I just thought it would be good to have more hours of fun running around being chased by a Scrab or a Paramite or something like that...

I haven't played the 3D games, and I thought the formula of the first two worked well. The sudden move to Xbox couldn't have done much good, as main fans etc. would excpect it to move to the next gen same console. Multi-platform would be a god send.

bleh...that means I have start saving for the next game console. xbox360, ps3 or new nintendo.

The problem games graphics are getting better. More money. I only had my xbox for a year and a half. Reason for getting it was to play the 3D games. I traded my sega genesis for it. Now next generation console to play new games. "Going insane thinking about it" A poor boy wants a free xbox360 :):p that will be a day!! Getting what I want for free.

Actually, getting free consoles isn't that unlikely. Happened to me twice.

Another way is to track down some useful item. Often airplanes are selling their personal TV screens cheap (ones used by upper class passengers for movies). Get your hands on some, sell 'em on eBay for a profit and get a new console. Worked for me. :fuzwink:

I think it would be cool if they gave Abe weapons. That would make the game a little more intreasting.

It would completely kill the concept of Abe himself. Abe does have weapons in a sense, such as the Shrykull power and other chanting abilities he uses against the industrials.

I heard Wii will only be about 100-200 bucks starting price, as opposed to the 300 dollar ps3 or the five kajillion dollar xbox360, so you may not have to save as much as you think.

Back on topic, I own an X-box more or less exclusively to be able to play the 3d oddworld games, and I feel like it was money wasted. The gameplay just doesn't measure up to Abe's Oddysee and Exoddus.

With all the technelogical leaps and bounds in graphics, they're going to eventually level out when it won't be possible to make things look more realistic, and game companies' focus will hopefully shift from making games that look realistic to making games that play naturalistically and fun, as was the case with most p2d platformers.

Actually they say on the internet that the PS3 price
is going up to between $500-600 when it's released in November, 2006.
That's ridiculous.

Sony better put out some ****ing amazing stuff in the ps3 if they are going to suck everyone's wallets dry.

Get the Wii instead. For one, we already know whats going to be included (and I am already cahoots over it) and the price is very reasonable, IMO.

Abe shouldnt have weapons maybe a spear or somthing but not guns. I think a new charecter should have a dart blower spears ect.

Yeah if he had a sword or something like that that would be cool be if he had a gun that would also be cool but it still depens on what kind of gun.

It would ruin Oddworld if Abe had a weapon, anyway, Abe is too clumsy to wield a weapon :D!!
