Put the mask back on(non-OW sketches)

Hello all.:)

It has been a while since I havee posted anything, but I've decided to start posting some practice pics and random thought fuelled sketches. I may not be that great, but I still love drawing and sketching. Well, I'm going to start off with a practice sketch I did of a Lion face. I tried to focus all of my detail on the face itself, so yeah, the background is not so great. This is the first time I attempted to draw a Lion-ish sketch. Here it is: http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3.../2Lion0074.jpg
Feedback, negative or positive, is welcome. Any advice that should be given to improve is also welcome. Bye now:D

Abeguy 05-31-2006 08:44 PM

yes, he needs the mask back...he's hideous :p

no really, Great work, PM, I'd like to see more

(got computer back up :D)

Havoc 05-31-2006 10:30 PM

Looks nice, but the face is very narrow :p. Looking forward to more :).

Matriar 06-01-2006 12:52 AM

 *wolf whistle* Wow.

It looks like a fantasy-lion :D But that doesn't matter:) It looks more interesting.

Paramite Mask 06-01-2006 02:14 PM

Thanks,guys!:)
I know the face is kinda messed up, but this was basically just practice. Now, the next pen 'art' was basically me attempting to go crazy on the detail. It's supposed to be a large toucan/man/plant hybrid. Here it is: http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...o/Bird0075.jpg
As you see, his body is deforming into plants at the end. Feed bak welcome, once agin. See ya later guys.:D

Matriar 06-02-2006 12:03 PM

I like it! Cool drawing style.
You give your fancy full scope. And it becomes really interesting. :)

Paramite Mask 06-02-2006 04:07 PM

Thanks, Stranger's Maid.:) When I sit down and draw something, I decide what I'm going to draw as I go along on the picture. When I decide on it, I just add on and on, adding little viney details and shading. I just decide what's going to be next on the sketch. I'll put up another one tomorrow.:)

Matriar 06-03-2006 02:51 AM

I look forward to it :)

Paramite Mask 06-05-2006 04:42 PM

Here it is:

I didn't know what this was going to be and I coudln't think up of anything. This paper was huge, so I couldn't fit all of it in my scanner. Feedback welcome. Bye:)

Matriar 06-06-2006 12:31 AM

It looks really cool :fuzcool:!
...even I can't find out what the lower half of the picture is:fuzemb:. Is this a kind of a reflection in the water or something?

Paramite Mask 06-11-2006 05:06 PM

No.. It's just a fun little sketch I weant crazy with. I guess it kinda looks like a water reflection..I was going to make it look like the creature was surrounded by an ocean...but I decided not to. Yeah sorry about the side and bottom half. The back of the creature's head turned into a meadow with a town on it. Summer just started, so I'll get to the sketch in a few days.
See ya laters.:)

Matriar 06-11-2006 08:56 PM

Okay. See ya!

Paramite Mask 06-19-2006 02:17 PM

I'm going to Anaheim and be at Disneyland with my sister and my cousin's fiance. I'll post another picture in a few days. Feedback still welcome. Bye. :)

Adder 06-24-2006 12:26 PM

These look pretty damn freeky-cool. Do you have a Devart accout, or anything similar?

Seriously, your sketches are really good. Keep it up.

Matriar 06-27-2006 11:25 AM

When do you come back? When can I see some more pictures :D?

Kimon 07-09-2006 06:52 PM

Damn, these are excellent! Come back soon and post more, please. :)

Dark Elite_H2 07-10-2006 12:44 PM

:wolf whistle:
Another pen-user. You guys are getting better at these.
I think it's unique for a person to draw with a pen.
So, I give you a 10 out'a 10, PM. Great work! ;)

Adder 07-11-2006 12:25 AM

It is not "Unique", since more than one person would draw with a pen.

...but it is generaly more impressive than digital art.

Leto 07-11-2006 09:36 PM

Ooh! Have you gained inspiration from Brain Froud perchance? Nice workins.

Paramite Mask 07-27-2006 04:51 PM

*Yawn* Hey guys.:)

When I got home from Disneyland, I didn't have time to really do much, due to preparing for my 3 week trip with my family to Europe. We met my other sister( who's been in Spain for 6 months for her exchange program. She comes backk into th U.s ina week to finish her final year of college.) in Brussels, Belguim and then drove to Brugge. We then weant to France,( A small town called Cancale, which overlooks the English channel, Disney Paris, and Paris) Spain,(Barcelona) Austria,(Salzburg,Vienna) and Interlocken, Switzerland.
I didn't say that I left because I thought the forum died. I did do one expeiremental pic with pen, going for a solid style, but kinda weant into a tribal look. Here it is: http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...esredo0079.jpg

The two letter on the bottom corner stand for my screen name for another forum I'm thinkin' about also posting my pics on that forum again. I do have expieremental sketches from my trip, but it's in a small sketchbook. I might post summathose. Bye.:D

Matriar 07-28-2006 12:12 AM

That pic looks funny :D. But interesting too.

Paramite Mask 07-30-2006 12:12 PM

Yo yo's humanoids.:D I have decided to make my own drawn avatar. I did it in about an hour and a half. Here's this strange little bub: http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...llo/PM0080.jpg

It's now my avatar, and it seems alittle small. I worked quite hard on this one. Tell me what you think.
See yas laters.:)

Adder 07-30-2006 01:46 PM

If you crop the image you can make it look bigger.

Hope you don't mind, but I took a stab at it:

http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e3...ish-guy/aa.png

I'll take it down if you don't want it, but at least check it out for size.

Paramite Mask 07-30-2006 02:26 PM

Thanks alot, Adder.:) No I don't mind at all.

I didn't have any software on my comp to work on the size. Thank you again, Adder. Man, I wish that I have photoshop. I appreciate the help.:D

edit: ugh, I tried to make it my avatar, but it said that the file crosses the limit of the forum's 8.0kb limit. Oh well.
Thanks for making it look better though.

Matriar 07-30-2006 03:23 PM

Nice colors! I like that style of the letters too :)!

Paramite Mask 07-30-2006 03:42 PM

Thanks. I did it with some old markers around my house. I'm not that expierienced with any color much at all, but I think it turned out ok. I'm just mad about the size of my avatar.:(
see ya's laterz.:D

Edit:

Hey guys.:)

(reply to Adder's post asking if I have a Devart account) Yes, I do have one, but I never post anything on it cause' I think I'm not excactlygood enough yet to post my stuffs. I dunno, I might post some... I'm entering a mini - "artist's" block, so I'm gonna go think up a basic mental concept of what I might draw. I might challange myself by workin' with paint. Thanks:)

Paramite Mask 08-07-2006 06:20 PM

Hello, fellows.:D

I pardon the double post, but I have finally drawn something. I was thinking about drawing something around the basic concept of a Tiger head. At the end, this came out:
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...rthing0001.jpg

Started it in the morning and worked on it about an hour, weant to SLO for lunch with my sister and mother, came home and drew the rest for about another hour. I tried to add some texture by shading the head and the little guy, and the straw thing with pencil.
Tell me what you think, and/or what I should do better.
See ya's.:)

Matriar 08-08-2006 01:22 AM

There's nothing to do better in my eyes. I like it (very much)! :)
It's just your mysterious drawing style.

Paramite Mask 08-08-2006 12:12 PM

Hmmm..... I've never really that of my style being that mysterious.... Actually your right. My new style is mysterious. Great point SM.:D
Thanks for the nice compliment,SM.:) I'm amazed that someone looks up to my art. I'll put up one soon. First I have to come up with another basic concept of what to do next. I've been experementing with paints, but they turn out to be crap. I guess I'll keep tryin'.
See ya's later.:D

Matriar 08-08-2006 12:13 PM

Okay :)! See ya!
