E3 Excitement!

Well, in the past few days a whole bunch of crazy video gaming news has been imparted to us (the consumers) in the form of HD trailers and interviews. Check out this site to find such things as the ever-exciting Halo 3 trailer and other such goodies.

Let the nerd-fest commence.

Dark Elite_H2 05-09-2006 03:08 PM

Kimon, I love you.
But the Halo 3 trailer is somewhat...eerie...especially with Cortana...O.O

Kimon 05-09-2006 05:48 PM

Shit, I might have to reconsider the PS3. They redid the controller with a cool new wireless Z-axis feature thingy. Plus it doesn't look like a quarter of a steering wheel anymore.

And I'll be damned if that Cell processor stuff isn't impressive.

Abeguy 05-09-2006 05:53 PM

yeah, I'm glad the banana controller is gone, I think, is it gone?

though I'm really looking forward to the Wii, poor Xbox 360, what an anticipator, should've came out with everyone else

SeaRex 05-09-2006 07:02 PM

Despite the awkward name, I say good for Nintendo. They're letting PS3 and Xbox360 fight over graphics; from what I've seen, Nintendo is primarily focusing on making innovative and fun games. Good for them, indeed.

How about sword play in the new Zelda with Wii's controller? Sounds pretty sweet to me.

Totally not interested in Halo 3.

I'm the same. I'm getting 'OMFG HALO 3 TRAILER.' messages by the minute.

The gaming indutry just depresses me now. //_-

LOS ANGELES--The announcements of Halo 3 and Grand Theft Auto IV at Microsoft's pre-E3 pres conference may have left the Graumann's Chinese Theater shaking, but there were also many other games announced beside those two behemoths.
Pfft, that sums it up, doesn't it?

The report I read called it a shallow rip-off of the Wii controller capabilities.

I'm pretty glad to see the Alan Wake project is not dead yet :)

the brew master 05-10-2006 01:36 AM

who needs Alan Wake when you got Splinter Cell Double Agent.

I'm REALLY looking forward to Gears of War..the ingame video they had was awsome.

Also looking forward to Dead Rising...mindless zombie killing..i love it already.

PC wise i want teh Medieval Total War 2 and Company of Heroes cause im such a sucker for RTS games..oh and Battefield 2142.

And more which i can't be bothered mentioning.

It isn't? :fuzconf:
Still, whatever. I'm not buying the PS3 (too expensive) so I really shouldn't care what it does.

SeaRex 05-10-2006 08:50 AM

Alan Wake is still alive? I haven't heard anything about it in a long time. I'll have to check up on it. From what I saw last year, it looked pretty interesting.

Again, Zelda hurray! It's about damn time.

Too Human looks overrated already.

Crisis looks delicious, but will probably suck in terms of gameplay.

Battlefield 2142 looks hella lame. From what I've seen, it's the same game as Battlefield 2, only with giant robots.

I haven't seen much new information Gears of War. Still watching that one. Could go either way.

Haven't heard a single thing about Quake Wars or whatever you call it. That sounded pretty good. Like Battlefield 2... only... better.

There were two new trailers out for two games I don't care about: Halo 3 and MGS4. I don't plan on purchasing either of them, but damn those were some awesome trailers. Heh.

...

Please, oh please, tell me someone out there has information on Okami and Chrome Hounds. Anyone?

Mojo 05-10-2006 09:47 AM

Hmm, I'm really looking forward for Fable 2, Halo 3 and Gears of War.

Yeah, Halo 3. I wanna know what happens next with the gang :P.

Oddish 05-10-2006 11:20 AM

What? The PS3 controler looks almost indentical to the any other previous Playstation controler, I was expecting something more modern. But I like the new feature is has, reminds me when I was playing car games as a child, always moving the controler like a steering wheel.

The MGS4 tralier is totally impressive, looks interesting. The games is on my A list. ;)

Yeah, that's what I thought when I saw it. But that doesn't make it shine any less bright in my eyes.

And I feel like such a sequel whore, but I'm pumped for Halo 3 and Fable 2. Bleg. I hope they at least change Halo up a bit in terms of gameplay. I also want Gears of War.

Excuse me while I go take a dip in the Main Stream.

Theres a developer interview on IGN for Chrome Hounds that came out a few days ago if you haven't already seen that.

EDIT: Just found a trailer for it on Gamespot aswell.

Dark Elite_H2 05-10-2006 01:34 PM

Hold up...
Where'd the Halo 3 trailers go?
They were there last night....
I'm tryin' to send it to a friend.

The reason people get so excited about sequels is because they like the games in the series they've played before. It's fairly hard to get excited about a game you've never heard of/don't know much about.

Nate 05-10-2006 10:20 PM

Who the heck is Alan Wake?

True, but it doens't make it games any more interesting. GTAIV: Documented Sputum Load #7129 and Forerunner are really just the same old crap, and I played Doom 3: RoE. All we need is someone to **** up the balance, and definatley not Nintendo.

Ninjaxe 05-11-2006 05:46 AM

hurry Kimon is back. Is that one with the Grubb avatar.

SeaRex 05-11-2006 07:13 AM

Who the heck is Alan Wake?

Hehehe. What, not who. Or I guess... both.

Alan Wake is both a game in production and the main character of said game. He's an author in a small town, and I believe the creatures from a book he is writing start "haunting" him, or something like that. It's supposed to be a Survival/Horror and Adventure type game, I believe.

What really caught my eye was the environments. They completely (and realistically) change from season to season.

...

OMG. Have you guys seen Spore? That looks like, and I don't care if this is an overstatement, the most innovative game. Ever.

I just saw some creature creation stuff yesterday. I think this kind of thing is going to be revolutionary, not just for the gaming industry, but the animation industry as well.

Cyber-Slig 05-11-2006 07:27 AM

Alan Wake? A. Wake?

And Spore is beyond godlike, I'll be buying it for my 360 whenever possible.

E3 is really awesome this year though, with the release of the 360 and all. They even told us the new race in WoW, something that has hurt people's heads for months.

Software Bug 05-11-2006 08:31 AM

Halo 3 (a) Very cool :d cant wait :P

*sorry for al halo 3 haters:p

Ah! I didn't even think it was going to be on 360.

Score for me.

Cyber-Slig 05-11-2006 10:58 AM

Not sure if it will be, but I remember seeing an article about it. I wouldn't see why not, it can run Oblivion super.

*AHEMGERALDSINF*

Myess. Anyways.

Stuff looks cool. This whole Assassin's Creed thing looks really great, and if the gameplay is in any way remeniscent of the trailer they've shown, I'm all in. Plus, the hands/feet/head control sheme they have set up sounds really cool, as does dree-running. Love it love it love it.

Holy shit yes, this looks awsome.

Leto 05-11-2006 11:51 PM

You know what looks at least slightly interesting? BioShock. I'm beggining not to regret my 360 purchase.

Munch's Master 05-12-2006 10:43 AM

Hmmmm, the Halo 3 trailer looks cool. Halo's getting old now, but the new game could be alright. Don't know much about Spore, but if its on the PS2 or old Xbox, or on PC I'll probably get it.
