Did you cheat?

I just got Stranger the other day (Yes, Yes I know, long overdue), and I found it quite hard. I'm not that good at 1st Person shooters so I had to bring out the Cheat Codes. Even with the God Mode I found it quite hard. Some of the bosses were tricky. I'm wondering if anyone else found it hard? If so, did you have to cheat?

Oh and to anyone who used Invincibility, did you find anything funny when you are suppose to die but don't. Like when you get squashed by a Big Rock and Disappear or when you end up in the Meat Grinder and you see Stranger getting chopped up over and over again.

Dancing Steef 04-16-2006 03:37 AM

No I didn't have to - well to be honest I jus' tried the invunerably-code, but it wasn't that fun - I want to have real challenges and for that matter I played the game with out any cheats or tips. I think it's more exciting and fun, how you think it is, is up to you.

pongyboy 04-16-2006 03:55 AM

I didn't cheat and found it quite hard, but i still completed it

Abe 01 04-16-2006 03:58 AM

I cheated :crying: im a bad person

The Marching Mudokon 04-16-2006 05:15 AM

The first time I played I didn't use any cheats but I tried it the second time but it wasn't as fun. It wasn't as challenging enough. And yes when you are squished by a boulder you become invisible (I found that out the hard way).

Dipstikk 04-16-2006 09:51 AM

I did at first, but then I went back and played it cheatless the second time around.

I found that either one is fine, it doesn't take away from the game to have the cheats on, but with them off, you have to hide more often and retreat to regain health.

Sekto Springs 04-16-2006 10:13 AM

I found the game very easy without cheats. Never used em once.

Wil 04-16-2006 12:12 PM

I don't use cheats to complete the game, I use them to explore the levels and character behaviour.

The Marching Mudokon 04-16-2006 05:15 PM

That's what I liked about the cheats, it gave you a chance to relax and, like Max said, explore the enviroment more. The second time I played with the cheats I found so much more.

..::ANDY::.. 04-17-2006 08:12 AM

I got onto sekto without cheats. Then I got stuck but cheats didn't work so I had to manage without them

Dark Elite_H2 04-17-2006 09:04 AM

Naw, I didn't cheat.
...but I did use the moolah cheat. :crafty:
That's it, I swear I'm innocent.

OANST 04-17-2006 09:19 AM

As FPS' go this was a fairly easy game. I used the cheat on my third time, however so that I could explore more easily.

Ninjaxe 04-17-2006 11:04 AM

I didnt cheat using invincible cheat when I first play it. Easy to complete. But I admitt I did know about more moolah cheat. Thought there an alternative ending.

Sadly there wasnt :( but I had tons of moolah and the doctor still ending up dead.

Xavier 04-17-2006 11:14 AM

Ididn't cheat, the game was too easy for that ;)
yes I'm not bad at FPS

Wil 04-17-2006 01:02 PM

Thinking about it, I did have to consult guides to figure out how to defeat Packrat Palooka, Elboze Freely and Sekto.

Sekto Springs 04-17-2006 01:37 PM

Stranger explains how to do it himself in the game though, Max. At least he did when fighting Palooka.

Oddish 04-17-2006 02:37 PM

I never used cheats nor guides for Stranger's Wrath. But I've used the invincibility cheat on the last bit in AE, didn't help me that much, the point is that I found it hard, and that was six years ago. I've also used a strategy guide for Munch's Oddysee through out the whole game, I think it was becuase I was too excitied to see what happends next. Learnt my lesson. I used one for Abe's Oddysee, only to find those nasty secret places, so I don't end up only saving 98 mudokons.

outlaw king 04-18-2006 10:37 PM

Im crisp and clean with no cheating . Never have , never will, until ive clocked the game . Thats my motto , I only cheat when Ive completed that particular game , for exploring and fun purposes.

Xavier 04-18-2006 10:50 PM

that's the spirit
to take the game futher and not to rush it

Wil 04-19-2006 09:58 AM

He only points out that the generators needs to be shut down. I was just about smart enough to figure that bit out by myself. There are no more hints about how to catch the guy than there are with any other Boss.

Alcar 04-20-2006 03:53 AM

I haven't actually used any cheats in Stranger's Wrath. To be honest, I don't think I could be bothered - I know the outcome. Although I have definitely used cheats in AO and AE.

Alcar...

Ninjaxe 04-20-2006 04:06 AM

There are cheats in MO? 0_o I didnt know that. What are the cheats: invincibility, level skip (as these most important in games.)

As I state I never used Cheats for mo!

Alcar 04-20-2006 04:26 AM

That's right, MO doesn't have cheats.

Whoops.

I wonder, why do people sign their posts? We already know who you are from seeing your name and avatar. Its like peeing on your post to make sure the other dogs don't take it, even though you are already standing on top of it.

I used Cheats in AE, thats it

Havoc 04-20-2006 06:28 AM

I never use cheats the first time I play a game. Except with Sim City but even those are a lot more fun cheatless.
I never used cheats in SW, as I didn't know there were any untill long after I finished the game. I was tempted to look in the spoiler section the first time around, but managed not to untill I reached Sekto. I realy needed some advise on beating those to Glocktigi!

As for AO and AE, I don't realy remember cheating, in those actualy :P

Xavier 04-20-2006 07:10 AM

I'm pretty sure there are still some codes left on Stranger that aren't released yet, didn't lorne said something about that?

OANST 04-20-2006 07:14 AM

He named off some things on the show cheat that were never released to us as cheats. For instance, Upgraded ammo cheats.

Slig stopper 04-20-2006 09:15 AM

I'm not much of a cheater, like outlaw king I only cheat to produce funny results.

OT: I seem to remember having a great time spawning npcs in Jedi Knight 2, creating rediculous battles. Those were the days... ;)

Shrink 04-21-2006 06:11 AM

When I just feel like messing around in a Western (i.e., the Gizzard Gulch chapter), I'll put on invincibility.

I've come to really enjoy the first town and first 3 missions; they are by far my favourites of the game.

Oh, and I might have possibly cheated to kill Sekto, because while I had it all figured out, I would inevitably run out of ammo and couldn't get enough more before he shot me. I simply went into the boss room unprepared.

monkeybait 04-27-2006 04:55 PM

I didn't cheat... i never cheat at games...
the game was meant to be that hard and I respect that.
