What would you like to see in the Oddworld Movie?
 

With the rumor (or is it...?) of the Oddworld movie buzzing around all of Mudos, what do the fans want to see in the new film? Personally, I would like to see a prophesy in the opening credits (I.E. Abe's Exoddus) that tells of Abe's destiny. Also, if they are going to make Abe's Oddysee first, they should mention Munch just so for the audience who hasn't seen Oddworld and for Oddworld fans who want a kick. What do you guys think?

I think it should be about Abe's firsts sotires AO and AE together
OR something totally new

i would like to see more of abe or munch in whole new story. This will provide a great insight of oddworld. The games didnt show much!!!

I'd like the film to be either:
a) a mix of AO and AE, possibly even MO if it could be fit in.
b) Munch's Exoddus, but make sure it has Abe in it too.
I'd hope the movie has got alf in it, and maybe some of the more obscure characters like Buddy (ie. ones only the real hardcore Oddworld fans wil lknow, just to give us a nod). It also needs to show Nolybab, so we can get proper looks at Maggie, Skillya and Sam. Oh and it'd be cool if we got to see Khanzumerz in it. Also it'll probably have a chase scene, as my golden rule of movies is: Every movie has a chase scene or 'beat the clock' type scene, some may not appear to, but they all do.
One last thing before this becomes a rant, I could picture the opening prophecy thing, but in a cheesy star Wars ripoff type of way:
a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away..............
ODDWORLD!!!
Then cue some text about how the mudokons are enslaved by the Cartel, and Abe is their saviour. Then a big explosion, and the movie begins.

There were beat the clock scenes in the games. Only MO didn't have at least one.

But the film will be catering to a far larger audience. It should have everything that made us fall in love with Oddworld, without sacrificing anything for the "wider appeal".

I think something like that would be good, it could show what abe didn't see in AO and AE like how Mullock dealed with the security gate breach at Fecco. I think that would be good.

Yeah, definatley I would love to see how evil they make Molluck. I noticed in the other games besides AO that the glukks were kinda cartoonish (which was fine for me) but in AO, Molluck was pure evil man! Totally awesome villian.

Probably AO, tying in elements of AE such as Necrum, that's what I had planned when I wrote my Oddworld movie script.

Like Marco said the prophecy thing would be a good start, it could start off like Lorne's voice as a narrator doin an introduction to oddworld like how he explains it in the disc added in with the AO game guide thats its like a billion lightyears away and a million times the size of earth and then he could dicuss the heroes of the quintology like how there story is 5 parts and a hero for each part(im not sure about the 5 heroes thing just my own speculation, plz correct me if im wrong).
Then the camera could zoom in from space onto a specific part of oddworld like rupture farms and start the AO to AE story and then in the end you would see right before the credits...To be continued and then you owuld hear the sound of a gabbit singing. oo-woo (something like that

I actually did include that prophecy in my script. I'll have to post it in FC sometime.

You should try and make a small Flash video of it like a movie trailer, or not its up to you. Just as a rough draft to scetch out how you want things to look like a digital story board.

I'd like to see Abe's Oddysee as a movie.

I don't want both Abe's Oddysee and Exoddus together - I like the neat 3-act structure of AO and I think adding Exoddus on the top wouldn't be good.

Not to say they can't pull elements out of Abe's Exoddus, such as Soulstorm Brewery instead of RuptureFarms, if they want to go for slave-torture rather than animal-extinction, etc.

it's true that if the put AO and AE in the same movie it would have the feeling of a double story. witch is Odd

It was planned that all the stories in the quintology would be games and films. Of course, with the AE plot so important in what happens in MO, they would have to do that one as well. I'd like to see an AO film, but most films have a lot of dialogue all they way through. There's only so much talking you can squeeze out of his meetings with fellow scrubs. "Hello" "Hello" "Follow me" "No. Piss off, you blue skinned freak". My adaptation is somewhat lacking.

I think they should do AO for the first film, then do a surprise ending that begins AE, then in AE show Munch swimming around or something so the audience will be like" Wow, who is that?" It will keep them interested into the next film. Plus, it will show that they didnt pull Munch out of their behinds to those who never saw Oddworld.

I read, the oddworld company want to to release a film with the stranger :confused:... but that isn't assured, because they need more money for this project, they said.

How exactly is AE important to MO, Bullet? From an unknowing gamer's standpoint, MO could be played as a stand-alone game. There are no really poignant elements in AE that tied into MO.

agreed, AE does make you want to play MO, but doesn't add a thing to MO
we didn't even see Sam as AE promised ;)

I suspect that the movie will be primarily the plot of AO, but with the brew-addiction of the Muds incorporated into the plot as was originally intended in AO, if you read the Art book.

Abe need not destroy the Brew factory in the film. That could be left unsaid.

i think an abe or munch movie would be hard sence its got a storyline but the game part wouldnt fit in as a movie to much "follow me"but a strangers wrath movie would be purfect because its already got all those ingame movies and its an action

I'de like to see something new and suprising like when oddworld went from a platform based game to a 1st/3rd person game. A new creature with a new plot line would be good.

Stuff in AE, like SoulStorm Brew, Abe's chest tattoo and Alf... All were included in MO. It's just a continuing story, and AE was brilliant, it would be no good to leave it out of the film sequences.

Aslik, Phleg and Drippik: a hilarious triple act. They have to be in a film. And the slig newscaster, he was hilarious too. I also think greeters should have a bigger part, they have so much potential.

really, I wanna see an AO AE movie, or just AO, yeah. Just AO. But a new character would be awesome, they could make a Fangus Movie, that would fit like a glove.

They were included, but not knowing what they were didn't take anything away from the story.

Marco sounds a bit like the Trailer for MO doesn't it?

Yeah I know, but I always pictured a film trailer about Oddworld to be like how I described, showing off the humorous side of Oddworld. Plus...it's kinda the trailer for my movie too lol

remember reading about it in Gamepro Magazine several year's back.I was
reminded of it recently when I noticed the Movie Posters in the catalog in
the back of the Abe's Exoddus game manual.Anyone have any Idea's???

Yes, I found the name online once. It was a short film Lorne made comprised of some CG clips abnd telling the story of Abe in that game I think.
