Other messages from the games
Have any of you notoiced certain similarites to real life environments and in game environments? I am not talking about like factories and forests, but hidden messages in these certain environments.
I was playing AO the other day and I noticed how strangely the stockyards reminded me of a suburb of a city, the endless fences, the glukkon head watch towers looking like water towers. Then there were the tall steel beams in Fee Co which formed arches and looked srikingly similar to cathedral celings. Have you ever had these suspicians/thoughts? Discuss! |
Hundreds of elements of the real world were inspiration for Oddworld. I could not name the hundreds of similarities, whether they're eye-blisteringly obvious or subtle nuances.
It's fun to play through the games to pick them out though. |
Some of these signs and suspicions are symbolic to Oddworld universe, and later Oddworld games. One sign I noticed was the fecco depot train line at the end of the Paramite Temple; this was symbolic to fecco depot later in the game.

Monsaic Lines... looked familiar to me... but I can't think of anywhere else like it.

Monsaic Lines -that was the environment name I could not remember in AO.

Oh! Wait! I have a good one...
There is a company that specializes in special chemicals relating to animal food such as bugs and food for bugs called 'Flukers Labs'. This reminded me alot of Vykkers Labs when I saw the logo. Very similiar to... http://www.oddworldlibrary.net/togg/RA/MO/RAMO0166.gif Perhaps someone could look further into this. http://www.flukerfarms.com |
