Oddworld Covers
 

In which Oddworld cover do you prefer out of all of the four games; and why? Also why on Munch Oddeysee and Abes Exoddus; have the same cover design of a bottle/can similar in apperance with abe on it. But do you agree that Oddworld Abes Oddeysee has a very simple and poorly design game cover?

I've always like the Abe's Oddysee cover due to its simplcity. I think Abe's Exodus there too much go on and the colours are not so striking but this does not effect the game.

Strictly speaking my aunt bought exodus first. If it wasnt for her I wont be an oddworld fan. So when I found out oddysee I had to get it and it was hard and rare. I always like the purple glow around the sign.

Munch cover is abe holding a can of Munch oddysee? This fits the category of being odd.

Stranger's wrath is quite funny when it came out. There are two images
the american version and the uk version. Techically I like the uk version cover it is brighter. American is all browny while the uk is yellowish brown. Better.

I got Oddworld Abes Exoddus from my Aunt as well; that introduced me to play further Oddworld games.

I guess AE. AO seemed a little dull.

AO's atmosphere was good. Abe's benign personality and the lack of intelligible speech from the other characters made it difficult to develop an attachment to any of them though.

The AO cover was great :D (the version without all the charactersarond the logo)

In my oppinion MO was the worst cover, to commercial

the original abes oddysee cover was what made me actually want the game when i was 10 years old. the exoddus cover is a bit of a dissapointment. If i saw that in a computer game shop and had not purchased abes oddysee, i wouldn't want to spontaneously buy it.

I noticed that Abes speech changed in AE before Abes Oddeysee as well<

I like the Stranger cover the most. It's awsome. And out of the other three games I'd have to say AE.

I think that if it was a completly new game and nobody had ever of it then it would be good to show the characters to the public without actually having to buy the game.

I guess so, but now I prefer the epurated design ;)

I think if it had been the second in the Quintology then it would have looked a bit plain and rather boring, but I can see what you mean.

The AO cover was based on the title screen- or maybe the title screen was based on the cover, I dunno.

But if they had all followed that style, I think it would have been good. AO title screen was all old mud culture, very scrabanian temple. Do you think that it should have been stranger's head poking out of a hole in SW?

Stranger’s head poking out of the hole would look very odd and would put me of from buying it again; but Oddworld Munch Oddeysee, and that game, has the same appearance slightly, with Abe standing behind Munch and on the other game- Stranger standing up like Abe does on Munch Oddeysee cover. There is a slight connection between the two.

No, i think that would have looked stupid. i think they were trying to show him as a tough character. I think they would have lost it with a stranger grinning his head off! ;)

Well, not grinning, exactly, but yeah, he would have looked stupid. His hat would fall off when his head came though the hole.
