Premonitions

Has anyone had a premonition or seen into a future event? I havent......but has anyone. They say if some people do, they are partly psychic. Here, look at this link:

http://www.themystica.com/mystica/ar...emonition.html

That explains it, so has anyone had one?

Munch's Master 04-04-2006 10:26 AM

Ah, premonitions. I've never had one, althuogh I know somebody who ahs had one (althuogh he thinks it's a coincidence)-my dad.
Basically he dreamt that he was driving in a car with somebody along this road, with these trees curving over it. He's not speeding yet not going slow. He comes to the end of the road, and sees the name of a building- its called Peacehaven. He rounds the corner, there's a white flash, and the next thing he sees is a funeral procession.
Back to reality, and two weeks later. My dad is driving in a car with somebody 9can't remember the guy's name) and what happens? He's going along a road, with these funny trees curcing over it like an arch. He's not speeding, yet not going slow. He nears the end of the road and sees the name of a building-Peacehaven. He instinctively slows down when he rounds the corner, and just as he's turning a truck rounds the corner at a fair pace . I'm not making that up. I think that could well have been a premonition that saved my dad's life- If he hadn't had it, he probably wouldn't have slowed down and might well have gone into the truck, having met it on the corner. believe it or don't, but its true. although my dad claims its coincidence, not believing that sort of stuff. I however am inclined to disagree with him.

Wow. I know someone who had a premonition. My uncle Bret.

Bret was at home, when he suddenly had a flash of shocking images, that a truck crashed into him, and everyone around him got hit too, and everyone around him died. But he didnt belive in premonitions.......the next day he went on the motorway like on his premonition, and since he didnt belive, a truck crashed into his car, which broke his skull, and shattered his ribcage. They say he died instantly. He should of belived in the premonition. Now he is dead. :(

Yes I have had drams involving the future. Although none of them are bad they happen within a week later. Has happened to me about 7 times now.

Sekto Springs 04-04-2006 05:01 PM

That happened to me only once, and it was more of a Deja Vu than a premonition. I haven't had a dream in ages, not one that I can remember anyway.

AquaticAmbi 04-04-2006 05:08 PM

This is kind of tacky and realistically, just a coincidence, but meh. During the summer before 8th grade, my friend randomly told me that crows are signs of death/warning signs. When I stepped out of my mom's car as she dropped me off on my first day of school, a big, spooky crow sat on a little brick wall right in front of me, only a few feet away. I got this really creepy feeling when I noticed it, and a weird thought of "something HUGE and terrible (related to death) is going to happen this year. And what do you know, September 11th.

*Shrug*

Sekto Springs 04-04-2006 05:26 PM

Yeah, that seems like just a coincidence. I mean, crows are everywhere, and you can't just go a year without seeing them. I see crows nearly everyday where I live.

General Drippik 04-04-2006 10:38 PM

Supersticious, purely coincidental bullshit. You can't see into the future, end of story.

Sekto Springs 04-05-2006 02:59 PM

Unless you have the Eye of Thundera.

Nate 04-06-2006 07:34 AM

I used to have remarkably accurate premonitions... about The Simpsons.

Seriously, I would often be thinking about an episode or a scene and 99% of the time that episode would air within a week.

Narrow minded, purely ignorant bull****. You don't know people can't see the future, end of story. That may sound harsh, but its true. To tsalk about this sort of thing you need an open mind. I may not exactly believe in premonitions, but I don't disbelieve in them.

General Drippik 04-06-2006 09:59 PM

To be able to see the future would mean that fate exists, which doesn't. So you are wrong. Nobody can see into the future.

Seargentbig 04-06-2006 11:33 PM

I have to say that I don't believe in premonitions either, but you're peeving me.
PROVE fate doesn't exist, and you have an argument. Now, you're just whining.

General Drippik 04-06-2006 11:49 PM

Of course I can't prove fate doesn't exist, but anyone who believes it does sucks.

Sekto Springs 04-07-2006 09:31 AM

People would respect your opinion if it was more insightful and not just an angst-fest, Drippik.

I don't believe in premonitions, but I'm not going to hound the people that do unless it wades into religion vs. science territory (which threads like these have a tendency to do).

You can't prove that either.

My Nan was walking down the street and she said she had a feeling something bad was going to happen, she crossed the road and about two seconds later a car crashed into a lampost were she was before

I could walk up to you on the street and say the same thing, it doesn't mean it's true.

Abe 01 04-08-2006 08:00 AM

fine fine

That's happened to me so many times!

Sekto Springs 04-20-2006 06:48 PM

Or it could be the fact that TV has become shallow and predictable, and Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein are still desperately trying like hell to pinch off a fresh idea from their asses.

Facsimile 04-22-2006 12:33 AM

They haven't written for The Simpsons for like 10 seasons, back when it was still fresh, what are you talking about?

Sekto Springs 04-22-2006 07:24 AM

Moreso referring to tv comedy in general.

HobbitNinj 04-24-2006 11:53 AM

My stepfather is an a$$hole. He loved making up rules for me to break and not tell me about these rules before hand. Then I would be put on restriction. One of them was not to stay on the internet for more than an hour...ANYwhere. When I was at my grandmother's house to spend the night I would surf the internet (on dial up)for much longer than that. Needless to say only a few calls to my grandmother's and I was busted. Went home, got yelled at for breaking a rule I did not know existed, then punished.

After that incident I was able to predict when he would call with his random " check ups". I would get a bad feeling, not unlike the feeling when one hasn't done their homework and the teacher might call on them. I would disconnect and not ten seconds later the phone would ring. He never caught me.

Marco the Glukkon 05-05-2006 08:00 AM

Me: Numerous Dejavu. And for those of you with dirty minds, I'm talking about the seeing future events during a totally random time! I get it a lot, and it's really really cool! Hmm...maybe it's tied in with some prophecy.....? lol

One time, I had dejavu when my Mom's friend's husband died. I remembered I was sick in bed watching a movie, and my mom called to tell me that he died. It actually happened, so that's why now when I get dejavu, I pray hoping it's not a bad thing.

Okay.....How exactly can deja vu be misconstrued as being dirty?

As for the rest of this......you are one strange little ****er.

Marco the Glukkon 05-05-2006 08:11 AM

Well, there's a strip club called Dejavu and I didn't know if anyone knew of it. Maybe it's just around my area lol.

Me? Strange? You should see some of the stuff people put on these forums! (or some of the stuff we put in our grinders at Grinder Farms! Yeesh!)

Jacob 05-15-2006 04:27 PM

I've had a vague few, but not anything to write home about. I'm more intuitive, really, as in, i can tell when somebody's an utter tosspot within seconds of seeing them.

It comes in handy.

Munch's Master 05-16-2006 11:27 AM

I think I just shat myself. Jacob's back!? Finally, an old member posts again. You probably don't know me Jacob, and wouldn't care if you did, but I know of you. We've been afflicted by a loss of old members, so need guys like you to help keep the forum alive. Even if this is just one-off post of yours, its good to hear from you again. How've you been?

Jacob 05-16-2006 04:08 PM

Aw, thank you. I have been well thank you. Doing random things in random places. All well and all good. In fact, i may end up posting a thread explaining what i've been upto.

...but probability is i'm too apathetic to do so.
