That's it, I've had enough; I'm leaving

Just kidding.

What do you mean April Fool's is already over? I just thought I would add to the litany of members who I don't particularly care about leaving.

But I may well not be around for a while, as I'm leaving SLO, CA, USA and returning to Australia so the earliest I could possibly post is Wednesday but probably some time after that as I don't know what my home's internet status is currently.

So in case it is some while; never fear, I shall return!

EDIT: Just remembered that I never actually got around to posting that photo-essay on life in San Luis Obispo now that OWI has moved on. You'll have to be satisfied with some random photos.

Monterey Street, Ross' - the classy place to shop.

Zoom in and you'll see why I got depressed every time I visited Monterey Street and realised what I'd missed. :crying: There's another identical door on the other side of the building on Higuera St.

What OWI are missing; how can you not like a town with a mountain smack-bang in the middle of it? And a huge 'M' on said mountain!

On the top of said mountain, about to fall off. 'twas rather windy.

*pokes* Don't scare me like that!

Nice pics... is OWI realy tucked away in such a small complex? Poor OWI -_-.

Nice pics!

I miss OWI :(

You liar! You said you'd visit us! How could you do this to meeeeeee?! :crying:

*sniffle, sniffle* It looks like you've had a great time though. I hope I get to visit your country someday...

Shit, you scared me there nate. But very nice pics, and yes it is depressing how small their studio is/was. Hope you get back on soon nate!

End of the Americam tour, eh?

SLO looks like a lovely place, what used to be the brains responsible for all that imaginative creation in that building, no not the hairdressers.

*pokes Nate of the mountian*

Looks like you had a good time. :)

It must have caused your heart to explode when you walked past the lonesome OWI door.

Sadly.. it is... Too bad I wasn't aloud in. I can only admire it's door:(..

Well, I hope you had a good time in San Luis. Seriously, it gets reeeeeeeaaaaaaaally boring here sometimes. Did you eat at the firestone Grill by any chance? They have pretty good sandwhiches, except that sometimes it's resturuant is crowded with smelly Cal Poly frat boys. Hope ya had fun.:)

Never bothered to go there, what with the limited options for vegemetarians. Damn this country and its lack of veg-only restaurants!

Something like that, yes.

Strictly speaking, I don't ever remember promising that, though it would have been fun. Don't know when I would have fit it in though.

Oh, and the building is actually pretty big. I think they've got all the space above Ross' as well, plus it goes through to the next street at the other end of the building. Don't know why they still have the sign on the door.

Most SLO natives seem unaware that there was any type of greatness living amongst them but often seem proud when I point to Stranger's Wrath on a shelf and tell them it was made locally (even if they've never heard of the game before).

Bye Nate. Guess I'll be seeing you on the other side.

metroixer 04-03-2006 04:12 PM

Wow sorry for missing that Nate. There's always other times right? >.>

Well, I made it back alive. Although there were moments on that plane that I wished I wasn't (surely inflicting Sarah Jessica Parker on the general populous counts as 'cruel and unusual punishment'?)

But I don't know how regular my forum visitations will be, as I'm currently operating on snail-pace dialup. grrrr.
