Oddworld: Rex's Oddysee News!
 

Today on Oddchat an interview was held with Alcar the founder of Oddball Inhabitants. He was Interviewed by Forum members me and Lampion.

He confirmed the heroes name would be Rex.
He said about how he had ambitions for Rex being a Meech. He said the gameplay concept would be more similar to the first two games of The Quintology and NO SPOOCE would appear in the game at all.
However he didn't reveal any concepts he had in mind or storyline.

Disclaimer: Oddball Inhabitants and Rex's Oddysee are in no way Asociated with OWI, It is a fan based idea and is only being done for fun.

Seeing this is a "fan based" project, I'm going to move this and the other thread over to Fan Corner, which is their rightful home.

This way there won't be any confusion from people who think Rex's Oddysee is a new title by the REAL Oddworld Inhabitants.

Plus fan corner is basically for any Fan Creation... whether it be fan art, fiction, and even game ideas like this one. :) Good luck guys!

Oh gosh, i didn't know you were going to post the chat. Anyway the name will always be Rex but the creature might change.

Controlling a Meech might seem a little hard

how about a rat? I haven't played munchs oddysee so there might be something wrong with that besides the head but think of it their sentient, small and no one takes any notice of them thats all the powers they need.

Okay, look, I don't mean to be argumentative, but I'm about to be.

1) Meeches are not sentient. They don't think.
2) Generally, people mention Meeches as characters in Fics and things a lot, thinking it is a new and original idea. It isn't.
3) That said, I've just noticed that you have just pointed out that the Meech idea was just that [an Idea], so I'd better stop shooting myself in the foot before Alcar starts to develop a serious dislike for me...

Yep. Meech? No-no... What could we have instead of a meech? This is a new game/whatever, so we can dowhat we want! Hmm, how about Abe and Munch fuse together to make a god!? Yeah! Brilliant! We control a gabbit and a mudokon like Munches oddysee, BUT, they can fuse together to make something like a shrykull! That would be so awesome! And they are different characters....

The Leaders have been anounced by now, as most of you should know. Be sure to check the Topic a lot now as Alcar may reveal the leads soon...

Although some people 'favour' the idea of the Meech hero, others do not so, as it isn't definate it could and probably will (if Rettick doesn't stop whinging) be cancelled.
It is rumoured (probably) that the a basic 3D version of the game will be made due to OBI's recent buisness deal with Drewco gaming industries. Therefore a new area has been opened in the Topic that of the 'Programmer'...

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well this is more than i expected, so far so many people have joined.

Oh and sorry for my absence for the past 3 days, if i had the chance i would of been here updating. But because of a suicidal maniac who cut the telephone wires, i have not been able to access the internet.

Oh and Rettick, yes by now your foot should be very sore. But about the Meech idea, like i've said before its an idea and it can be scrapped. The Meech idea was only a second thought. Yep a SECOND thought, my FIRST thought was to have a totaly new creature.

Sorry for my absence and hopefully nothing has changed since ive been gone.

By the way very soon the Oddball Inhabitants website will be totally updated with alot of new things!!!!!!!
