The best game on xbox EVER!
Holy moses! I have just played " call of cthulhu " On xbox , and its scared the hell out of me! You guys honestly have to play this , its so atmospheric ( set in 1923 ) And theres a sh*tload of scary monsters! I played it a 12:00 at night with my speakers turned up , and i am still having nightmares about it.
I am now reading h.p lovecrafts " shadow over innsmouth " and i must say , its scarier than the game! I just wanted to know , has anyone played this hell of a game ? |
I was thinking about getting it but I noticed that it got a lot of poor to mediocre reviews. I still may pick it up.
Vaguely offtopic, but to those who have read plenty of Lovecraft; can you recommend a book to start reading first? I'd like to see what everyone is talking about.
Not to opportunisticly take the one book that's already been posted here but Shadow Over Innsmouth is really a great place to start.
Yeah, I had seen this in the usual places. It was recommended to me by a friend later and I said "Oh yeah, I sorta remember that". Needless to say it doesn't look that hot.
I'm more looking forward to BioShock. |
I quite like it. But certainly not the best game...
Well , i do suppose that calling it " the best game ever " was a bit linear of me , i remain confident that its the best horror game ever , of course , that is just my opinion.
I think Condemned is the best horror game ever.
MMM , ive heard alot about this , its only on xbox 360 , right? i might give it a go!
360 and high-end PCs, yeah. I don't own a 360, and I probably never will. All the games that have thus far looked even remotely attractive for the console are also for PC - which I already own. And add all of the technical problems 360, mix in a pinch of Bill Gates's ignorance, and voila; a system not worth camping out at Wal Mart for.
I agree completely SS , the ps3 is the console for me! Dont you hate those kinda people that try to persuade you to like something they like? This happened to me yesterday.
I was at my mates ( he really wants a 360 ) , and all i said to him is that i prefer a ps3 . So then he goes in " denial mode " And starts this tedious lecture about how cool bill gates is , and how better the 360 will be than ps3 . I still stick to my opinion , so he gets out a fu*king xbox demo , which tells how good the xbox 360 is. I calmly say that i still prefer the ps3 , so he tries to convince me that the xbox 360 is better until i cant be stuffed hanging around and went home. What a dick , ive never spoke to him since cos whenever i do , he somehow turns the convo towards how cool the 360 is , what a plonker |
Xbox will always have a place in my shriveled heart, but until OW releases a box-exclusive game; I'm keeping my greasey hands on my keyboard.
Greasy hands? you must like eating frys. I myself am thinking the pc is the console for me. My only concerns are all that virus sh*t ( sounds really complex ) and trying to remember all the keys on the keyboard.
PC games aren't difficult. It's just a matter of customizing the controls to your motor skills (which is simpler to some people than others *ahem*). I got through both of those games using no more than 4 keys.
I see! my Dads a pc nut , so i guess he could help me . The only pc game ive got is battlefield vietnam , I play it sometimes , i spent out all my $ on xbox games.
To really get started into Cthulhu Mythos one needs to start at the first story.
Call of Cthulhu. But if you're just looking for HP Lovecraft gold... Pickmans Model. And Dark Corners of the Earth looked alright, but Lovecraft is something you need to give a free roaming enviroment and ahve various scripted events to walk into. A linear game, Lovecraft cannot be. |

Are you two here to stay? I can get you a table for two, with BREAD STICKS!!!
We have returned to you with new voices and open arms.
Yes, there will be bread sticks... And let me be the first to say... "OPEN YOUR REAR, I'M COMING IN!" |
There's enough room for eeeeeeveeeeeerrybodyyyyyy!
Back to topic, I never have owned an xbox, strange as it sounds. But I HAVE played the pc adaptions on some of its games. Morrowind and kotor as examples. Although Morrowind blew me away for a googolplex of reasons, kotor really did show a new side of RPG's, not like those cliche "WASABI! ^_^" asian games which had dominated the genre for too long of a time. |

If so, then yeah, I can stay. And **** the wapanese RPGs and thier effeminte men who look like little girls. |
