Rich or Famous?

Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous. So if you had to be either one what would you rather be? Rich or Famous?

SeaRex 02-21-2006 06:24 PM

Rich.

I don't give a damn if people know who I am. As long as I have a ridiculously large high-def TV, then screw all the little people.

XD

T-nex 02-21-2006 06:29 PM

I want money, cos money bring happiness... ANd i dnt care how many people know about me, as long as i have money I'm happy!! Muhahaaha...

Ok family and friends make me happy too.

used:) 02-21-2006 06:31 PM

I agree with SeaRex. I couldn't stand being famous, I treasure my pirvacy as well as my mazuma XD.

Havoc 02-21-2006 06:41 PM

Rich please. I don't want to be famous at all. And if I change my mind, I'l just buy me fame XD.

AquaticAmbi 02-21-2006 06:56 PM

Rich. Definitely. I plan to steal his identity!

Heh, being famous without money would be utterly pointless and no fun at all.

TheRaisin 02-21-2006 08:04 PM

Famous. Not like pop culture famous, but like textbook famous. I'd love to go down in history as some guy who did something that was really great. Like coming up with a cure for a horrible disease, or making some astounding and fundamental scientific discovery, or being some sort of great civil rights activist type person. I like having money and living comfortably and all that, but I think I like recognition for my deeds even more.

Abeguy 02-21-2006 08:08 PM

you can't be famous that many times without being rich
except for that guy who killed JFK, and Buckwheat, they may of been famous, but hell are they dead

I aim to be really famous, REALLY FAMOUS, but for making movies and videogames, not killing Idols

Nate 02-21-2006 08:11 PM

I want to be Rich. Because that way I'd have Rexy.

Someone had to say it and I'm glad it was me.

Anyway, I'm saying Rich for much the same reasons as everyone else. Money may not be able to buy happiness but it can buy comfort, which can make being depressed more enjoyable.

But I can't see any positives in fame. Although I can definately see where Raisin is coming from.

Rich 02-22-2006 08:10 AM

As Abeguy says, the two usually go hand in hand.

I think money because I could buy me and Rexy a nice house and lots of prezzies for her.

Fuzzleman54321 02-22-2006 08:40 AM

Rich. Being Famous would get on your nerves. People following you all day saying "OMFG GIMMIE UR SIGNITURE". Bah.

Coolmanbizkit 02-22-2006 08:50 AM

Depends what got me famous, If I had fame. I could earn money depending on what I did... But. Probably money.

Slaveless 02-22-2006 08:56 AM

Niether. I like to be known for something, but just known, not famous. Being rich means you can grow up having bratty children or you instantly become a celebrity. Does anyone want people with cameras surrounding your house 24/7? Nope. Being middle class means you can afford things without much trouble. Heck, I live on the biggest house in my nieghborhood, and I'm not rich! You don't need to have a masion with 12 pools! And I bet you have more fans than friends if you were rich! I would give my extra money to a certain poor person who needs the money more than I do!

Oddish 02-22-2006 10:25 AM

For the same reason most people chose, Rich. Also becuase money is more important than fame, it's survival that has to be thought first you see.

But I would like to be famous for what I do. I would like having my art work displayed in the most extraordinary museums.

Nepharski 02-22-2006 02:44 PM

Being rich would be more practicle. Plus, what are we famous for? Hitler was famous.

OANST 02-22-2006 02:57 PM

I would like to be Rich. I don't really like being Mat.

Slaveless 02-22-2006 03:19 PM

And I'm all alone. Doesn't anybody see my point?!

Nate 02-22-2006 04:07 PM

Are you so self-conscious that you need our approval for every post you make?

I disagree with people who say that fame and riches go together. True, most famous people are rich because most celebrities get payed exhorbitant fees for what they do. For instance, Paris Hilton charges $200,000 for a 20 minute appearance at a public event. However you haven't heard of the rich, non-famous people for the precise reason that they are not famous. Check out the top 200 rich list sometime, you'll find that you haven't heard of most of them because they're too busy making money to waste time on self-promotion.

Abeguy 02-22-2006 07:03 PM

I didn't say all the time, just most the time. and I'd stay right here in Idaho if I became famous. It's quiet. And even though I'd probably be pretty rich, I'd never spoil my kids. That's one of the dumbest things ever

Rex Tirano 02-23-2006 01:15 AM

Aww. :) Yes, buy me pretty things. ^_^ [:p]

Rich, because [like it's been said before] if I wanted to be famous I would have enough money to become famous.

You could also become famous by doing something horrible too. And I don't think that's very nice.

- Rexy

Making Movies, if it is a revolutionary breakthrough like Star Wars, or the most fatastic stile of directing ever, like Duel or Jaws, then yes, you will probably become really rich and famous.

Video Games, the chances of ever becoming famous by making video games are slim. Really slim. Name one guy who makes video games who is famous. Go o n, anyone at all. If your going to say Lorne or someone then he doesn't count, he's not famous, he's semi famous.

I would like to be rich. But I will probably make my movies, and make the most succesful movies ever, so unfortunately, I will probably become famous aswell :fuzsad: It would be awful. You couldn't just go down the road for a chinese, you'd have to sne someone down to do it for you.

Abeguy 02-23-2006 03:58 AM

No, my games are going to be fresh, innovative, like Lorne was with Oddworld, no cliche' story lines with me, and everybody will say, "Hey, Theditors games is coming out with a new game" and they'll go "Really, *shrieks* AWESOME! I love their games" and the other will go "yeah"

well, maybe not exactly like that, but I aim to make my games that good

Dino 02-23-2006 04:17 AM

*makes a very funny joke about Rich the moderator*

I would prefer to be Rich. *but I wouldn't want to sleep with Rexy, much as I love 'er*

Ninjaxe 02-23-2006 06:35 AM

rich,

as longs there is the money fame is always round the corner...imagine counted as 1 of of the richest in the world. is that enough fame

ka! ka! ka!

Slaveless 02-23-2006 09:13 AM

OK, maybe I would want to be a little rich, I admit it. But only for to buy the necessities. And maybe a console for the Oddworld games. :D

Nate 02-23-2006 02:33 PM

Except that you would still only be famous within the game industry and people who know about games (as compared to people who play games, most of whom don't care about the developer).

Abeguy 02-23-2006 06:41 PM

not to mention I'd also be an actor
it'll be hectic
Actor
Producer/Director
Video game designer/company maker

outlaw king 02-23-2006 06:55 PM

I didn't think of it that way... I'd like to be famous for some amazing discovery or work regarding marine life. Choosing money of this seems rather materialistic, meaningless, etc.

Because I've grown up with so much worry of my mom's financial matters, it'd be hard not to choose being rich... never having to worry about fancial stability. But gah, being famous for a discovery or something would mean so much more. *undecided*

Nate 02-23-2006 07:16 PM

I know what you mean Ambi; I wouldn't need to be rich per se but it would be nice not to have to think about every purchase I make or worry about a mortgage ever.
