Lorne Lanning interview (WT)

here over at Working Title:
http://www.working-title.de/artikel....l_id=47&page=1

I saw it talked a bit about their CG film, but I'm in a hurry and will read it later

Havoc 02-09-2006 02:09 AM

When the fat lady sings. What a bastard he is XD. Well at least their working on something... even though they won't say what.

OANST 02-09-2006 06:52 AM

God, his interviews suck. It takes him a long time to say nothing.

Dancing Steef 02-09-2006 11:03 AM

Hrrm interesting find Xavier;)

Kamille 02-09-2006 06:15 PM

ah come on lorne...

Cullen Heath 02-09-2006 06:25 PM

I don't know what you idiots are whining about.
He did an exellent job, just like in every interview he does.

used:) 02-09-2006 06:44 PM

Bullshit Cullen, bullshit.

An interview is only good and exciting for the public if the person reveals something new about their craft. Here it's just some rants about his personel beliefs on the gaming industry and the already known fact that they have been working on *something* for the past year but have revealed jack shit.

Cullen Heath 02-09-2006 07:46 PM

That is not true.
An interview can always be interesting, it just depends on how you look at it. If you think: "Ugggg, there is no info on what they are doing next, I'm so sick of not hearing anything!", then yeah, the interview wont be fun. But if you absorb the info and try to learn about how Lorne feels about everything, it could be an interesting interview and you would have learned something.

oddveteran93 02-09-2006 09:02 PM

Look, guys, calm down already. And Old and not so tasty, I've been meaning to ask you this for a long time. Why do your bowels hurt?!?

Xavier 02-10-2006 01:31 AM

I think an interview is intresting when it reveal some new things...

in this case it does:
-confirm they are working on a CG film (even if 98% of us allready were sure of it)
-say we shouldn't expect any new Oddworld game before the release of any movie.
-tell us how Lorne feels about the video game industry. (We allready know most of how Lorne feels about it, but hey, it's the interviewer who's to blame)

Wil 02-10-2006 04:53 AM

This interview does seem pretty pointless. Most of the questions ask about what we already know, or ask about things we know they won't get an answer to. Lorne does ellaborate and provide interesting viewpoints on certain subjects, but the interview is more valuable for telling us that Lorne still exists.

Havoc 02-10-2006 05:38 AM

I agree that Lorne could have told us just a wee bit more about the project. He's always had this 'keep everything a secret for as long as possible', but I wouldn't advice doing that with a CG movie, especialy not if there will be a huge time gap between the last project and the movie.

Shrink 02-10-2006 12:11 PM

I always enjoy reading a Lorne interview, though he rarely actually says anything new.

monkeybait 02-10-2006 06:33 PM

I think Lorne said whole load of nothing at all.... There was no meaning to that.... he just dodged all the questions he didnt want to answer.... that interview was fruitless in my opinion.

Kamille 02-10-2006 06:39 PM

Guess were split right down the line with this one, Xavier do you know inside info on the movie like something other people don't, just wondering

used:) 02-10-2006 06:43 PM

I guess I have to jump the bandwagon with Lorne's views on gaming, and it's true, he does have some interesting points of view. But I would pay for some information at this point.

Dipstikk 02-10-2006 07:47 PM

I'm going to have to agree with the lot of you, I don't enjoy an intervew from Lorne unless I can squeal with anticipatory joy when I read it. And so far, nothing.

outlaw king 02-10-2006 08:40 PM

Now Now fellers! Lets all calm down here! This is a pointless argument , read the rules it clearly states you respect others opinions!!!! Everyone is entitled to a opinion , lets respect them eh? No one has " cunt lips " and no ones a dick , sure we have some stupid remarks on this forum at times , but lets ignore , em instead of retorting to them! Peace out brothers!

Kamille 02-11-2006 07:49 AM

make love not war

panuru 02-12-2006 05:11 PM

It was an alright interview. I agree with Xavier; that this one does affirm some of our speculations and that shows for something. I maintain that most Lorne interviews are interesting, even if they don't reveal anything of great significance... And, indeed, it's always good to know that he's still alive and Oddworld's still active.

If anything, blame the journalist for asking the wrong questions.

If you want to read an interesting (yet, unrelated) interview, check out the one found here: http://www.banned-width.com/shel/misc/linernotes.html under: "I'm So Good That I Don't Have To Brag!"

Slaveless 02-12-2006 05:30 PM

 I could understand that singer desipes the interview. Maybe most people do feel like that during an interview. Ok, going back on topic, I don't seem to see the point of the interview. He's just saying what he clarafied a year ago.

panuru 02-16-2006 02:02 AM

The point is, possibly, that his audience is Dutch/German; an audience that he has not officially announced such information to. This information isn't new to us because we keep up with everything ODDWORLD that we can. This is new to Dutch and German readers who are not as interested in the ODD as are we, however.

erwinraaben55 02-16-2006 03:13 AM

And why is this new to me?? I am dutch, and I keep as ODD as possible, that's why I am at this forum.

sorry delete this my post...
I should put this pic on this thread.

erwinraaben55,
:

This is new to Dutch and German readers who are not as interested in the ODD as are we, however.

Clearly, you fit in the category of Dutch readers who ARE as interested in the ODD as the rest of us; and, therefore, are not the intended audience for this article. This article is directed towards those who haven't been keeping up to date out of their own good faith and interest.

Xavier 02-27-2006 03:16 AM

atusiya@ you probably mean the topic about lorne interviewing the ICO/Shadow of the colossus team at dice?

atusiya@ 02-27-2006 05:33 AM
