Anyone else get the same crap?
Ill probabley get alot of discrimination here but any one else hate sports as much as i do. NO its not because im too fat to play or anythign like that. I just think its a waste of time. The for the people who hate it they get made fun of for it. Hppen to anyone else?
|
I <3 sports. Or at least a majority of them. And /I don't make fun of people who play them either.
|
No. I love sports. Infact I'm planning on doing it for higher learning. <3
One of my friends hates sports with a passion but it's because she's convinced herself she doesn't like it, so she doesn't try. Which makes everyone mad at her, no one wants her in their team because they lose because she doesn't try and the teachers get pissed. Sports pwn. - Rexy |
i dont care if someone likes sports, just i dont then people come and make fun of me and my friends just because we have differnt opinions
|
I agree with the creator of this topic.
RUGBY SHRINK BALLS. |
I personally <3 sports, mostly because i'm really athletic, not that you could tell from my pic -.-. I play:
Baseball Football Volleyball Soccer Pretty much any sport in the US. I just don't like it when people don't try. I don't care how good you are, as long as you try. So, of course I get steamed up when I see all the girls group together just to talk when a game starts. It really annoying. I agree with Rexy Sports pwn. |
Basketball FTW!!!!
Other than that, I don't really like sports so much. It's just like the old saying goes: there's nothing better than a good ol' game of basketball, 'cept a good ol' game of basketball high. |
I'm basically uncoordinated - when I had my eyes tested at age 5ish I was 90% blind in my left eye due to an astigmatism which caused it to become a lazy eye. So, an eyepatch and 18 years of glasses later my left eye is better but still not good enough to even read with and my hand-eye coordination is shot to buggery.
So I was always crap at sports, which meant that I was never interested in it, which meant that I was a social outcast through most of my school days. But I'm over it now. |
Aww... Natey! I had/have basically the same problem. I had to wear a patch for like a year when I was 5, and my left eye can't be used alone to do anything like reading. My coordination and aim are really bad too.
I've always hated PE/Gym class because I've always been so scrawny and stuff. I run incredibly slow, I can't aim, etc., etc. On numerous occassions when I was little, I felt like crying over the humiliation I felt in such classes. I was picked on, made fun of, laughed at, and so on. My worst experiences were always the races held for the entire grade. We had to run in front of the whole grade level of students. I was ALWAYS dead last or second to last. And all my peers watched. Once my teacher even laughed at me for it after asking how I did... :( Anyway, I took my last PE class last year, which wasn't so bad. I'm a little more comfortable with myself these days in such situations. I try to find humor in my clumsiness and overall accept that it doesn't matter what anyone thinks about my slow running or weakness. But arg, it still angers me when someone would treat me like an idiot for not being able to throw a ball the right way when I could surpass them in overall intelligence in an academic class. :| |
I hate sports... on TV! I don't mind other sports, but I'm not a footy fan. I like soccer, though. But I won't play a sport unless I'm with friends; coz yeah then they just tease me. I hated PE at school too.
|
I don't dislike sports that much, but there are infinitely better things like art and music that need doing.
|
In my own personal opinion, football sucks a bull's dick.
|
Dun like sports. Never done it except on highschool when it's a must >.<.
My body is calibrated to sit down all day and eat fat foods... if I start eating healthy and work out... my body would be like: WTFOMGBBQ TEH HEALTHY FOOD AND WORKOUT!!! AAAHAAH!!!! *Heart Attack* EDIT: But my current siggy makes a nice statement to add to the topic :P. |
...Jellyrolls?
I get enough excersise through my daily life to stay in good health. |
I'm not really a sports fan. I don't enjoy watching it but it can be fun to play from time to time. The only thing I play daily is foosball. Seriously. I will make anyone my bitch in foosball.
|
Heh, I like the way that this thread started off with 100% pro-sportiness and now has gone the absolute other way after my last post.
But, to deepen the Ambi-Nate connection; I was exactly like that in races in primary school. I was so far behind the pack that people thought the race had finished and started crossing the track in front of me. But thankfully puberty hit me earlier than most in my class and the longer legs pushed me forward so by the time I hit year 8 I came second in my heat (which was made up of the crappest 8 guys in my class, admittedly). Then I changed schools so that I never had to go in a race again. |
I gotta say, although I actually enjoy running, I don't do it with people around... mostly because people reckon I run unco-like and becasue I get pooped so quickly... those turds think it's funny to watch me run!
|
No I'm not that much of a sports fan. The only one I really play is basketball. I too was always last or close to it when we ran in gym.:(

You guys, you don't have to be all down on yourselves just for being unathletic. Just try and do your best. It's stupid for people to laugh at you if you wanted to be good at sports. Just try and turn that frown upside down.
(Jesus, does that sound as stupid as I think it does?) |

No, I hear voices in my head all the time. :p
I tend to take a likign to physical fitness in the summer, running in the morning, walking my dog for about ten miles around the region. I am greatful for a wide land to dump my problems on after astressful day at school. |
I'm going to be going for a walk/half-arse-run-effort today... to try and get FIT! I'll die from exhaustion probably... but, unfortunately, if I'm going to try and join the Air Force, I have to be fit... and that means I have to start running regularly... and do something about my chops. Thankfuly I live out of town a bit, so hardly anyone will see me.

But you're missing the point here. We don't care that we hate sport. We just hate that other people seem to think it's the most important thing in life. For us though, we know that there are better things to care about and we are talented at those instead. |
Well, I can understand how some of them believe it to be the most important thing in the world because some depend on it for their futures for things like sports scholarships, playing professionally, or some other career in physical education. I can understand that importance, but what I don't appreciate is how they seem to believe it should be as important to me as it is to them.
I certainly wouldn't flaunt how I can do a lab experiment better than someone else in a science class. And I can understand how a science class could seem worthless to someone else but means everything to me. I do admit that I'd probably consider such a person stupid though, but I'd never ever make them feel that way. |
But, seeing as you mentioned scholarships, don't you think it's strange that a university should provide free education to someone just because they can kick a ball in a straight line?
I really can't see what the universities earn out of siphoning money into their sport teams and facilities rather than spending it on a better education for all their students. |
Thats exactly it though, money. They keep pumping funds into the athletics departments because sports is what gets the money. When have you heard of acrowd showing up to see something like the drama club put on a show? What is hot is what sells.
|
I don't mind sports, I just don't get how they work.
LOL IMMA GHEEK |
No, I don't think that sports is the mos important thing in the world. It's just something I can do get rid of all the energy that builds up during the week.
And Ambi, i'm not one of those stupid jocks who can only play a game. I happen to have the highest grade in history and science in the class. ;) |
