Munches Oddysee sure has changed.

Don't get me wrong I love Munches Oddysee it is just that it changed so much. I read that you would be able to raise and breed critters or something like that. We would meet Sam, as stated in Abes Exodus, and that we would revisit Rupture Farms. :spin: I know Oddworld Inhabitants has a good reson for this and I love Oddworld alot, its just the game changed so much. Along with the Hand of Odd, Sligstorm, Squeeks Oddysee...:talk::eek: Ahh! Sorry! :spam: It seems that I don't like Oddworld, I do! Its just, oh never mind...

Well I know how you feel. I felt the same way from all the big changes but I've grown to love Munch's Oddysee and the Oddworld universe. I mean, it's a big planet there, anything's possible.

I don't.......really........understand what you're trying to get out.
Are you asking a question? What is it that you are trying to say?

Dipstikk 01-24-2006 10:16 PM

Munch's Oddysee was a great big letdown, I agree. Lorne even admits it. We can only hope that a sequal to Munch (if it ever happens) will be better.

I agree. Like the first story for Munch OWI had, before they changed it:fuzemb:

That was Oddworld Universe, but like its sister site, a lot of content it once had is currently missing. I'm planning a similar article entitled, pompusly enough, Munch's Oddysee - The Director's Cut.

metroixer 01-25-2006 03:51 PM

Ah okay then. Well I wasn't much of an oddworld fan back in the day so I wasn't dissapointed at all. IRonic cause I thought they achieved more than what they promised. Then again I wasn't really catching up with oddworld news that much :P.

I liked MO I'm like its only fan

Slaveless 02-02-2006 05:24 PM

I've never played MO ever in my life, but even if it was a big let down, I would still want to play it. Even if MO was the worst Oddworld game in people's opinions.
WakkaWakka, are you trying to say that OWI left out a ton of stuff that was orginally planned?

Dave 02-02-2006 05:50 PM

What I think happened was that Munch's Oddysee was going to be this big, tremendous, awesome game that would be awesome. What we got was a last minute mishmash of halfway developed ideas.
It was my first Oddworld game, so at the time I thought nothing of it ... didn't, in fact, know what everyone had been anticipating.
As far as breeding critters, it seems they've done away with it completely (though sort of borrowed the idea in SW). And I believe that what they promised at the end of AE was that we would find out about Abe's mom when he met Munch, not neccesarily meet Sam. And if you listened to the Shaman in the first level after the Lulu fund was started, you see that a glukkon was trying to make a new Rupture Farms at the Meep ranch. So, OWI kinda kept their promises. Just not in they way they originally meant to.

MO is definalty worth the try, even the buy if you can find it in platinium version. It's still better then lots of platform games the Xbox has. ;)

But thats just it. I don't own a X box. I can't use my friends and there is nothing that allows X box games to be on PC.

I don't see the connection.

Munch's oddysee has change...the story line concept was too basic mentioned by others.

Is cause of the xbox can handle all of what lorne lanning wants in the game? FMV have been change to newpapers. Not much there!!

Fuzzleman54321 02-12-2006 01:45 AM

I dont have a xbox, but i have played MO, and it IS a bit of a let down. :/

It is not because the xbox couldn't handle it, it's because of a lack of time.

Slaveless 02-14-2006 03:56 PM

Well, lets think about that. When MO was in the begining of production, most likely OWI was publishing AO, finishing AE, and at least looking at Slig Storm's future. At the end of production, they were starting SW. That's quite a busy schelude. So maybe the system wasn't the only reason of failure.

Wil 02-14-2006 04:59 PM

I believe that after MO the team moved on to look at ME before Lorne decided to take a completely different route. That would be a more fluid progression of development, one that wouldn't even have demanded a new game engine necessarily. But that's a technicality.

I would be concerned if a development team of any kind turned 'round and said “Look, we're sorry this isn't very good, but we were working on other things.” I would expect them to finish that job as best they could without letting more peripheral projects stand in the way. Overlapping development of games is common. It's surely more down to technical and time restrictions.
