Shadow the hedgehog. Yay or nay?
Yes I got the new SHADOW game using my Xmas money and I have to say...It's actually pretty good *Holds shield up just in case*. Now ya see the main point of the game if you play it is not in the guns. It's actually more about the storyline, what you can use to your advantage, and a war. It still has the same problems of Sonic adventure. Like: Clunky camera, messy controls, and oh-so corny lines. Although its fun and it has the highest replayabiltiy containing 365 levels depnding on how you make desicions and stuff. I say yay.

I liked the few minutes I played of it, and it seemed to have a lot of replayability with the different paths, but everyone seems to hate it.
|
I haven't played or seen anyone play it, but all I have to say is yay for Sonic in general. And Shadow... well, I guess the "bad boy" quality works for him. So yay for him too? :p
But seriously, what was whoever thinking when they gave a Sonic character a gun? For shame. |
Sega is putting too much effort into these abysmal 3D Sonic games. C'mon now. Dr. Robotnik/Eggman should be the ONLY human character in the series. What the hell is up with these human cities and presidents and bullshit like that?
As for giving Shadow a gun, I don't think there is anything that I can say about that... that hasn't already been said. What they need to do is get the artists working on some killer backgrounds and get the designers working on some innovative ideas. Then, Sega needs to put it all together and make a stunningly beautiful and fun old-school 2D Sonic game for consoles. That's what I'd buy. Sonic Adventure I and II were fair enough, but please Sega, no more of this 3D stuff. Hedgehogs are meant for 2D. |
I love Sonic the Hedghog, but I haven't played Shadow. Honestly, I'd rather hear the review than just get it and regret getting it. (One example is Darkwatch...oh god...)
|
I just plain have never liked Sonic. This game isn't going to change my mind.

If you ask me, I think Shadow is just a scheme to get Sega more money. For some reason, younger kids always seem to like angsty, grumpy characters more than normal ones. A good example of this is Vegeta. He's not really cool in any way, but for some reason, some kids like him. Trust me, any angsty character can make a video game a hit. Why? I have no clue. What I do know is, this is not a coincidence. O_O
