Today my teeth had gone under a miraculuos transformation >.>...

I don't know how it happened. It all seemed so fast. But when I got in the office. I was just closing and my eyes and getting all relaxed. Th drills were wirring. The commands were taken. When they were all done. Now I have braces!....Yea..

As you can see from reading the cookie deservent poem I wrote down I have braces now. It feels wierd really. Like you have a big piece of apple stuck between your teeth. ANYWAY I created this topic to see who had undergone the transformation of these metal thingies and what you think about them.....and BEGIN!

Havoc 12-29-2005 06:16 AM

Luckily I never had them, and never will, as I take good care of my teeth :P. Sucks you have them tho... good luck with it.

metroixer 12-29-2005 06:21 AM

Yea I had to put them on because my upper jaw was growing faster than my lower one. Thus every time I bite I bite my upper gums, and the denstist said if I don't fix that in 3 years or so.....it could get nasty >.>.

That has nothing to do with it. In fact, if you don't look after your teeth, they won't let you have braces because for the dentists it'd be a waste of time and work.

Yeah, my teeth were OK when I got my non-permanent braces, I only had to get them because my teeth are a bit larger than usual, and one of them was sticking out from the line. So, they pulled out a tooth which was next to the one mentioned earlier to give it more space, and I got the braces. It was uncomfortable sometimes, but after a year and a half, my teeth went back to normal.

Scrab Watcher 12-29-2005 08:35 AM

It was recommended that I get braces: my mouth's too small and I'm going to need my pre-molars removed because there isn't enough space for my wisdom teeth. I love my pre-molars they're so sharp and pointy...yes you read that right. My pre-molars are sharp, just like my canines...and I don't want to lose them. *sniff* My braces would have been for purely asthetic purposes, but I like my teeth the way they are.

Well, braces is certainly a preferable alternative to having your gums stripped off by your own teeth. Ick.

Braces are pooples. I have to have mine till summer, I believe. SUX

Oddish 12-29-2005 09:44 AM

I had my braces over year and still have them, so yeah I needed them. It can be a of a pain on the ass when it comes to cleaning your teeth, becuase food always easly get stuck between. I'm a bit worried for having them so long, it could be a problem for my teeth.

Dark Elite_H2 12-29-2005 10:36 AM

Pshaw...I went to the dentist, and my brother got braces. The only thing the dentist pointed out was that I had a slight overbite, and suggested a friggen retainer to stop it. I guess it sucks having two large front teeth. I absolutely loathe it...But my two canine teeth make me look like a vampire...:fuzvamp:

Okay two things I have easily noiced when wearing these things.

1. Lunch is NOT my favorite time anymore.

2. Brushing teeth=unbearable pain.

Don't worry. After a few days it stops hurting to eat and brush. But brushing everytime you eat is kinda annoying.

Kimon 12-29-2005 04:38 PM

Eating and brushing stop getting painful after a few years, don't you worry.

AquaticAmbi 12-29-2005 06:37 PM

It's not that bad, take it like a man.

I had braces for 3 and a half years. (Yeah, my teeth were horrible. Stupid crowdedness.) The normal braces were uncomfy and left little trenches in my cheek tissue at night, but with a little wax to cover them it was bearable.

However, I was unfortanute enough to get some awful little things called "bite buttons"/"turbos", which are little metal things that they glued to the back of my two front teeth in order to stop my overbite. It was horrible.. It gave me a slight lisp for a few weeks, cut up my tongue, and hurt Luke in terrible, terrible ways.*

Having braces removed was one of the worst physically painful experiences in my life. It literally felt like my teeth were being pulled out, and they used a little spinny sander thing to smooth out the bottom of my teeeth. They sanded my teeth! It mostly just uncomfortable, but they hit some really sensitive places. But on the other hand, my friend Glenn claims the whole thing doesn't hurt at all.

Also, I've had twelve teeth total removed in my life. Four baby teeth, four adult molars, and my wisdom teeth. Fun!

*Just... Don't ask. :p

Godlesswanderer 12-29-2005 08:34 PM

Although I think I do need them (my front bottom teeth are ever so slightly crooked. It's hardly noticable by everyone but me, I'm always noticing them :)) I was told by the dentist that I didn't need them. So no braces for me :D.

Nate 12-29-2005 08:56 PM

My brother had four baby teeth that didn't have adult ones underneath them so they all had to be pulled. He had to get braces for five years (beginning when he was sixteen!) to close up the gaps.

I was worried I might have to undergo the same treatment but, as my dentist says "people would kill for my teeth". I have an overbite and two slightly crooked teeth but you'd have to be looking closely to realise.

But in case you're selfconscious about having braces, don't worry as I've always thought they looked cute. Perhaps I just like shiny teeth or something.

Godlesswanderer 12-29-2005 09:21 PM

On the right person braces could look cute. On the wrong person it can look like they've just tried to chew the entire contents of their kitchen utensils.

AquaticAmbi 12-29-2005 09:28 PM

Yeah, braces are pretty darn cute. Unless the person doesn't clean them well... Then they are nothing but disgusting and smelly.

I thought I looked okay with them once my teeth began looking right although they made me look 10x more childish. But I had them installed by different sections because my teeth were so crooked. When they finally put them on my protruding canines, it looked terrible with the wires going all zig-zaggy.

But I don't wanna! :p j/k

Anyway now that I had a good night rest they seem to be much better now. (Still annoying though). What I don't understand is most people I know are afraid of getting braces because they think they will look horrible. I mean it's just strands of metal put on your teeth. Doesen't sound that horrific looking to me.

Al the Vykker 12-31-2005 08:47 AM

This smile did not come cheap or easy. I had braces for 3 and a half years, just got em off this past July and I love having em off. Smiling was difficult at first, it felt so awkward because I never smiled too much when I had them on and when I did it was a closed mouth smile. I mainly had them in the first place for my overbite, but I never thought my teeth were that bad until I saw the original mold of my teeth from four years ago, before the braces. Then I was extremely glad I underwent the "transformation." heh.

Facsimile 01-01-2006 12:26 AM

In a couple of weeks I am going to get a special checkup thing to see what they are going to do about my two back, bottom teeth which face outwards. After they fix them or whatever they're going to do I am going to ask to get braces. I hate my teeth so damn much.

Daxter King 01-01-2006 05:28 AM

I've never had braces and hopefully never will. My friend had them for about 2 years or so when he got them off his teeth were covered in plaqe(sp?). Because he could never brush there.

Yeah, I had teeth growing out of my ears. It wasn't a big deal for me at the time, but now that I look back on it, I can see it was for the best.

*shudders* its absolutly horrible, disgusting, my friend has braces, and he has heaps of mustard, and he won't clean it, so his braces are all yellowy and horrible

oh and i have braces now, ive had em for about two weeks now.

Icarus 01-04-2006 05:53 PM

you'll get used to it eventually, i have straight teeth now, you know, because of braces.

Dancing Steef 01-13-2006 01:43 AM

I've had braces both at the upper and the lower jaw...yeah I thought when I just got the braces "This is a living Hell..." though I didn't have them both at the same time, first the upper then the lower jaw. I got the braces when I was thirteen years old and now almost five years later I only got a tiny braces, which is stocked on the back of my lower jaw's front teeth. I didn't hurt that much to get that one, but It felt pretty strange when I got rid of the first ones, I thought "oh something's missing"...

Now I'm about to have this lil piece of crap till next year in Febuary if I'm not mistaken... longing for to get rid of the whole thing:o
