DUN DUN DUN! Yes folks it is almost good ol 06 and that means there had to be a game of the year yo! What woul dbe your nominie for the following genres? (I'll post mine while I am at it).

Best Strategy:
AW:DS (Well it was the only one I played this year.)

Best racing:
Forza Motorsport (Great fun)

Best RPG:
Final fantasy 4 adv. (Great fun!)

Best shooter:
Stranger's Wrath (You know why.)

Best adventure:
Castlevannia Dawn Of Sorrow (Wee!!!)

Worst game of the year....Evah:
This GBA game I recently got called sbood. The music makes my ears BLEED.

Best addiction:
Meteos (Great fun)

Best innovative:
AC:DS (It's scary how innovative it actually is...)

Best game overall:
Mario Kart DS (W007! to the mother freaken n0075!) Sorry about that.

Counter Strike Source is the best game of the year because it has better graphics now? Thats the most, complete, utterly retarded thing I ever heard. Source is in no way better then the original, and that sucked even worse! So there!

Best Strategy:
C&C Generals (Game is three years old, but it's the only strategy game I played this year, so ta XD.)

Best RPG:
Guild Wars, no contest. Although I only saw it at a friend, it deserves the prize.

Best shooter:
Half Life 2 (Let's stay real and not call OSW a shooter, let alone the best...)

Best adventure:
OSW... (this is where it belongs)

Worst game of the year....Evah:
Uhm... Counte... nah :P. Uhm... Call of Duty 2 (Gameplay SUCKS).

Best addiction:
Battlefield 2

Best game overall:
Dunno, probably the Half Life series again.

Best Shooter (that I've played):
Call of Duty 2, which I love for its realism. If I had more of a chance to play HL2's single-player, then I would probably that, but it wouldn't be fair for me to "nominate" a game that I don't own.

Best Survival/Horror:
Condemned: Criminal Origins, for its enthralling plot and the fact that it was basically the only good Survival/Horror game this year (RE4 doesn't count).

Best Art Direction:
Shadow of the Colossus

Game of the Year:
Resident Evil 4

Best Strategy - Civilization IV
Okay, I'll admit this is a tad premature as I haven't actually played it yet, per say...but I loved Civ 2 and Civ 3, and magazines are saying civ 4 is the crowning achievement, so why not give it the benefit of the doubt?

Best Shooter - Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
Historically, I'm not a fan of the all to bland and generic shooter genre. By innovating with strategic ammo use, flawlessly integrated environments, no load times, and great characters and story...how can anyone go wrong? Definitely the kick in the jaw the shooter genre needed.

Best Adventure - PsychoNauts

I only really cared about three games this year and Nepharski put two of them up. Searex did the other.

Why is everyone calling Call of Duty 2 'The best game' soley because it has good graphics? That's just silly...

No one has said that; they may genuinely like the game, Havoc.

Although I think all of them World Warish type shooters are shit, save Wolfenstien.

And that's about it. It has been a major shit year for gaming it has. Though I must look into SOC and that Saikerknots game that still doesn't appear to be in stock down here.

Well actualy, I would have to give Half Life 2 the same score. Except maybe for graphics, as Call of Duty two might be a bit better on that front. But HL2 has better physichs by far.

I dont play games as often as the rest of you. I also am only allowed to play select few m rated games.

Big Red One? It's okay... the graphics I'd say are on par with HL2... easily. In fact with a good enough graphics card (advanced anti-aliasing and processing helps a lot) and a fast enough computer HL2 is still up there even after all this time.

The highly advanced physics engine, the graphics, the gameplay, the storyline and so forth create an overall gameplay that's so engaging and enjoyable that it's really hard to find anything that actually matches it let alone tops it. At the moment I'd say the games of the Splinter Cell series are the closest due to the way they incorporate the creative use of the environment around you with mouthwatering atmospheres and really detailed, realistic levels. Even in the first splinter cell game, if you walked past an air conditioning unit you could hear the "yingyingyingying" of the fan. This earns it many brownie points.
