Yea I heard about this. If they go with it it will be suicide. A lot of people I know rent before they buy, buy used games and sell games so it will turn alot of people off. A funny rumor I heard is that after 3 seconds of being turned on it will explode. :D Yea wasnt gonna get the ps3 anyway. Sony did good on the psone. Then in the middle of ps2's life they horribly wrong.

Well Daxter King I coulden't have said that last statement better myself! I must say I have a psone and I enjoy it actually. Ps2 though. Thanks sony I used to like you as a little boy (conffesion), but now you are public enemy #Q.

Yeah, I heard about this a while back as well. They're only going to be hurting themselves by doing that. In other words, like others have said, economic suicide. ;) I happen to rent games and buy used ones sometimes, so it looks like I won't be buying a PS3 unless they get that fixed (which I'm sure they won't.). You know, I've also heard about the exploding PS3 rumor.....no joke.

Edit: Or was that the Xbox 360?? I'm not sure, but I heard about one of them being defective. :p

No, they've invented technology that could possibly be used for that purpose. Basically the disk would only work with the first console it is placed in; you couldn't even lend it to a friend.

My gut feeling is that they won't use this because it's just impracticle. What happens if your Playstation breaks down and gets replaced under warrantee? You wouldn't be able to play any of your games.

Sony wants you to buy new games to get more of your money. I'm pretty sure the exploding thing was sony. While it may lead to some sweet practical jokes. No one would want to buy it. Knowing my console may explode while I'm playing wants me to get the Revolution more. In an interviw (i'm pretty sure ign) nintendo said the revolution will be about as powerful as 3 or 4 gamecubes.

WHAT! Who would do that? The more people that heard about it, the more money they would lose. This is a stupid move.

However, I really doubt that this is true. People are just quick to jump on Sony because they want the PS3's release to be as shitty as the 360's horrible excuse for a "launch."

I'm sure it's just an exaggeration, but if it IS true, then this is shaping up to be the worst "Next-Gen" ever.

Sony = massive electronics manufacturing and distribution company.

Therefore, Sony + refusing to do one thing with their gaming market does not = death sentence.

Hey, I'm not a fan of Nintendo but when they launch its usually pretty good. N64 and Gamecube had no problems. First run PS2s are infamous for being buggy and overheating and they had the same problems with disc reading and overheating with the Playstation. Now Microsoft has released very expensive and crash prone consoles. And my guess is 2 to 3 Sony's launch sucks,too. Now, I want the Revolution to succeed. I'd like to pay 200 dollars, get all the in-house things and have Nintendo get what it used to have: Legit third party game support. It keeps the game honest.
And finally, back to the topic on hand. No way is Sony going to do this, ever. They're going to lose money to pirates anyhow, they don't want to lose fans in droves which is what would happen if they pulled this crap.

Metroixer, you really need to accept that the only reason yo show slight dislike toward Sony is because you are a Nintendo fanboy, not some halfassed excuse like "PS2 was bad it was teh suck it get so much moer atenshin". The only reason why the GameCube isn't that popular is because, well, it's non-conformist indie shit. :D

Hey these are opinions so all of you shush. None are the best because they are all the best in different opinions.

Now in MY OPINION I like Microsoft the best then Sony and (remember this is an opinion so dont get worked up over it!) I dont like Nintendo at all.

I don't like fanboyism myself because I think it's ridiculous to hate a console just because it isn't Nintendo or Sony or whatever. I did (as of now I'm not sure if I still do) like Sony because of the games they had in their lineup. Most of the games I own are either for the N64 or the PS2. However, I must admit that if Sony is going to make this kind of technology and support it, they are making a horrible, horrible move. Honestly, though, I think that both X-box 360 and PS3's launch titles are not so great as of now. In fact, they're all utter crap.

Oddchick, I have reasosns for not liking them. nintendo makes thier controllers wierd(espessially on gamecube) and mostly all of their games are cartooney.
I dont really have a problem with sony, exeprt that the playstation games are always sequalls over and over and that gets boring and that the graphics arent too good.
I dont have any problem with microsoft, i think they are doing a great job with the xbox.

I would hardly consider nintendo controlelrs "weird." They even improvd them with the gamecube.

If you don't like the Nintendo or Sony consoles, Cullen, well that's just fine. Not everyone has to like the same thing, but sometimes you have to look a bit deeper than just graphics and appearance. I'll admit, I was a bit turned off by the cartoony look of Zelda: Wind Waker when it first came out, but I bought the game anyway and loved it! It is now, in my opinion, the best Zelda game out of all of them (Sure, everyone says Ocarina of Time is the best, but that's their opinion. :p), despite its cartoony appearance. ;)

The newest game in the Zelda series looks like teh rockz0rz! I honestly cannot wait till it's release.
