Hey everyone. I used to post on the old Oddworld forums waaaaaaay back. Like years ago. I was one of the first members of the original Oddworld Forums. My name then was glukkon_daniel. Does anyone remember me?

Is Sydney still around? And what about Abe Babe?

Sydney left ages ago. A huge forum war. I can't be bothered to give you the full details. But basically Treacherous Alcar, and his mighty band of merry men usurped Syd. :p [Love ya' Petey!]

Abe Babe never comes here any more even though she is an admin.

Oh well I just wanted to see if anyone here remembered me. And what happened with these "Forum wars?" I thought Sydney was cool.

I did! I full idolized him [being about 11 at the time]. He [should I say she now?] was an amazing person. [But then again, through the eyes of a child, he was also lovely to me.]

I dunno... I think Abe-Babe and Pilot [who was turned into an Admin, as he was Abe-Babe's bf] disagreed with Syd's dictatoral role and usurped his throne. But you're better asking one of the older members, as I can't really remember.

I seem to remember Syd having a sex-change. But Syd was a great person and that doesn't change the person he [she?] is.

Anyway welcome back, I am glad one ariginal poster is back.

I remember you.

Long story short, Syd banned two of our old members, Disgruntled Intern and Melvin, because (at least this was my understanding) they used a slur offensive to australians and/or made fun of Syd directly in a chat room. Either Syd was actually in the chat without their knowledge, or someone told Syd what happened. Well, most people thought this was a pretty shitty thing to do (the banning), as it had nothing to do with the forums directly, so in the end Syd lifted the ban and apologized. DI also apologized, so everything was pretty cool.

Unfortunately, there was a big to-do about it. In the end, Sydney ended up leaving OWF and starting a new forum for all of the other people that left because of the ensuing drama. Even though some members still posted on both forums (myself included), most of the best members on OWF left for TGA, Sydney's new forum. That pretty much marked a steady decline of user participation for OWF... it's been slowly declining ever since.

It happened a long time ago, and my memory sucks, but that's the general idea of what exactly happened.

I remember you as well. I was only about eight years old or something, though.

Morgan was banned, not me. I've never been banned, which is questionable.

Pretty much. I think Pilot had a share in the preverbal stock as well, but I really can't remember.
AbeBabe still "owns" the forum.

What brought me to this forum was when I did a yahoo search of Abe's Exoddus music and found a thread from '01 with Abe Babe talking to some others about Oddworld music. I know she said she'd LOVE to have the songs. You think now that they're up, she'll be enticed to come back?

I've looked up Sydney and in all honesty I'd say you should be glad that he/she/it doesn't post here anymore judging by the majority of his/her/it's last posts, which are mainy random, unprovoked bitchings, and not exactly the sort of productive, interesting contributions you would hope to see from a forum founder.
