zee translate game!

Okay i'm board. Nothing to do in life. Sooo I wanna know if people here know their foreign languages. Pretty simple. I or you say something not in English and someone else has to translate. So yea i'll start off seeing as how I am Russian, and start off with somethibg mildly easy :D.

Kak Dila?

Hope this turns out fun for some of you.

Oddish 12-11-2005 11:58 AM

Kak Dila?

How are you?

T-nex 12-11-2005 12:07 PM

Ok.. lets try me language, romanian :D...

Mie imi place clatite.

metroixer 12-11-2005 12:54 PM

Hmm... Romanian I heard is a lot and sounds a lot like Russian so I might be right with this guess here (Oh and Oddish you were right! Cookie for joo!).

I placed my ground beef? clatite sounds a lot like cacleta which means ground beef in russian.

Rex Tirano 12-11-2005 01:56 PM

T-Nex, I so want that to be something about Pancakes. I would laugh so hard if it was! SO I'll have a guess, although I have no idea...

My little eaten pancake? Lol.

Soy de los Estados Unidos. ?De donde eres?

metroixer 12-11-2005 02:35 PM

"My name is Used." I can't get the other one but i'm pretty sure i'm right.

Rex Tirano 12-11-2005 02:39 PM

Isn't 'My name is..." Mi amo es... [Or something along the lines of, I apologise I failed Spanish.]

Awww! You hired me a stripper! Oh you shouldn't have!

When i'm done posting this you will be quoted on my sig. Anyway i'm gonna take a wild guess and say Faggoto means f*ck in Italian. :p

EDIT: Oh and you're wrong by the way. (Yes I just noticed you were joke translating.)

It seems slang enslish has wormed into your mind. Actually, it means "bassoon."

metroixer 12-11-2005 04:11 PM

^ Nah it was just the first thing in my mind so I said "What the hell? Why not?" Oh and...

"Mne raritsa yetsa!"

Come on! It ain't that hard! Okay it involves a certain breakfest that is not cereal.

Lovo328 12-11-2005 04:34 PM

¡Hola! Mi nombre es Lovo. O, por lo menos, eso es cuál es mi nombre en aquÃ*. Su mamá va a la universidad. ¿Qué pelÃ*cula es eso? Es una pelÃ*cula impresionante.

odd chick 12-11-2005 04:50 PM

^ "Hello! My name is Lovo. Or, at least, that's my name here. His (do you mean "my"? I'm a bit baffled here) mom goes to college. Which movie is this? It's a movie impression." (By the way, I can't answer that question. :p)

This is what 4 years of Spanish class can do for me...........after my last year of it has been over a year ago and therefore I've become a bit rusty. :D

Me gusta mucho las pelÃ*culas aventuras.

Not sure how well I said that since I'm a bit rusty, but can anyone guess? :)

Lovo328 12-11-2005 04:56 PM

It reads: Hi! My name is Lovo. That is my name on here. Your mom goes to college. What movie is that from? It's a really good movie.

No spanish experience at all:

http://babelfish.altavista.com/

By posting this site, I may have ruined the guessing game fun... but now we can put more complex phrases in!

metroixer 12-11-2005 04:56 PM

"I'm just a strong brave adventurer?"

EDIT: Oh come on Lovo you cheater. Now we can't use spaniard :p.

Splat 12-12-2005 01:17 AM

I'm now going to be basically copying out parts of my Japanese speaking assessment. good times!

Hajimamashite. Watashi wa Splat desu. Eikoku jin desu. Yon sai desu.
Shumi wa suiei to dokusho desu. Ane wa doitsugo ga dekimasu.

Spot the blatant lie in the passage above! Shame the school doesn't have a Japanese-typing keyboard. No bonus points for translating the seconds sentence.

Rex Tirano 12-12-2005 06:58 AM

I think...

Nice to meet you [or is that Dozo yoroshiku?], I am Splat!

... And that's about as far as I got. You use desu alot. But I think it's good to have one word for I am/you are/he is.

And it doesn't matter about japanese keyboard, my mac is a japanese keyboard writer and it just turned up as ??????? when it was posted. Booo!

[P.s. I think it ruins the game with a translator, plus the language is always very very very broken!]

OANST 12-12-2005 07:04 AM

Va te fair futre.

Splat 12-12-2005 07:41 AM

Yeah, my German teacher last year said translators weren't much good. That was shown when smoeone managed to start talking about shopping trolleys in a piece of practice coursework about losing a wallet.

You're pretty much right about the first bit Rexy. The next couple of sentences might be hard, one might require being english, another is the deliberate lie so it might take some thinking.

Squeeshe the metroid 12-13-2005 12:33 PM

Oooh!! Oooh!! My turn! How about zee french? Juem Le Zuef! :) Get that one... hehe
