brother relationships on tv....
Okay for a while and for a long while I have been laughing at the big brother trying to beat the crap out of little brother like shows. Now though....It's just pissing me off. I am seeing this concept used a little to much on tv. Now I love my big bro. If ANYONE makes fun of him....Well lets just say that's another story. A very brutal, bloody, and gory story. Oh and it happened once oh yes it has. >_> Anyway back on the subject. It seems like in cartoons, reality shows, and whatnot they are trying to encourage brothers to hate each other because that is what I have been seeing a lot in real life lately. It's sad and it's pissing me off how people can get the wrong idea about brothers when brothers like me and Vlad(my big brother's name) are the closest things to each other like a magnet. What do you think about this theory I might be building up? :(

Yeah I think your right, I see it on tv all the time. I dont think its setting a good example for the older brothers.

Since the beginning of time, grenre cliches have plaguaged all sorts of television shows. Because every male is awkward and incompetent, 30% of females are ditzy and worthless, while the remaining 70% are smart, attractive, and prevent the world from falling apart. But hey- they're unrealistic fantasy worlds, and if I wanted to watch melodramatic plotlines, I'd watch Lifetime or something.

I don't think they're promoting negative relationships, I think they're reflecting them. It's great that you guys get along well with your brothers but the fact is that you're in the minority, at least within my experience.
Secondly, TV shows thrive on tension and confrontation; not things that you get out of a happy family story. |
