How do I do it? Every time I try to send one it stays on my total messages list..

Private messages, not secret. If your (or the person you're sending to) inbox is full, then it is impossible to send messages. You, or the person, must delete some messages and then it will be possible.

Aye, and make sure you delete "sent messages" as they take up space too.
