Ronnie Barker dies age 76
Ronnie barker died yesterday, as I am sure some of you know, of heart failure aged 76. Here's an article about Barker's death:
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/05102005/34...ic-barker.html I tink it's a real shame that he died. Barker was a great comedian in my opinion, from Open All Hours, to Porridge, to the Two Ronnies. And to think, there was the Two Ronnies Sketchbook just a couple of months ago revisiting the sketches. What are your thoughts of Ronnie Barker, and his unfortunate death? |
Here's to you Mr Barker. Wonder if he's being buried with some forkandles....
|
Well, yeah, thats sad and all. But I really don't care, I mean, I've nevcer seen his comedy so yeah, not much loss for me.

Thank you for adding that substaintial amount of information to this awe inspiring thread. Enough with the 'I hate halo' and 'Who the **** is this?' kind of post attitude. Though I am being slightly hippocritikill, mainly due to my post in the Halo thread. Just hush hush.
76 aint that old, though. |
I've been following this loosely since it happened and although I never really got into his comedy (I prefer Bill Bailey, Dylan Moran, Ross Noble, Jack Dee and Paul Merton and other similar "modern" comedians) I've seen a lot of it and I know how influential it was to British comedy, so I do feel his loss even though it's not something I care hugely about. I've never really liked the man for some reason - not a personal reason in any case, nor anything to do with his comedy, I just never connected with him, perhaps because it was a bit before my time so I didn't really see much of him even while he was still doing recent shows. Perhaps I was missing out on something? I don't know, but from what I do know I can say that it's a shame he went the way he did - I think he was certainly more deserving of a nicer, later death than the one he got.

Ditto Dino.

Boo ****ing hoo, I am "sad" that he's dead, but it really doesn't affect me in anyway.

Jesus Used have a little tact will you?
Threads are not posted just for your fucking convenience, so there's no need to dismiss this one so rudely as though any thread mourning the loss of someone you don't know is a pointless and moronic affair on the grounds that it excludes you, the most important person in the universe, which is a heinous crime. You know, you could've participated something of worth if you actually bothered to look up information on who he was. But in any case you could've made your post more sensitively. |
Oh yes because I believe I am totally the most imortant in the world. I wasn't being self righteous I was replying rudely to Godless's comment on how I show no sympathy whatsoever because yeah, I AM that hearltess cold fish.

You KNEW that posting in the way you did would piss everyone off, so why the hell did you do it? Do you get your kicks out of winding everyone up? If you didn't know then you're a bloody fool who is just trying to cover his tracks by arguing for his right to act like a prick. If the way I've acted in the past has taught me anything, it's that being a troll isn't smiled upon. You need to change your ways SOON cause at the moment you're certainly not gaining any friends. |

But at any rate, shut up. |
No, you shut up. Why do you assume that you are the only one with intelligent opinions and everyone else with opinions like me is a retard?
Does respect have to be leveled between life and death? Thats not waht I meant. |
