OK. You guys voted, now lets see how we can implement your opinions into the everyday workings of OWF.
Fan Games - Want to make a spiffy Oddworld fan game? Maybe someone out there wants to recruit skilled people for an independent game mod? Or maybe some of you just have some ideas for game concepts that you just want to kick around? Well, this would be a great place to do it. Talk amongst yourselves, children. If we can make a killer game made and sponsored by OWF, then we could probably get some new members by association... RPGs - I honestly think that many of you have a solid enough interest in non-Oddworld RPGs to warrant some kind of new RPG forum. Any thoughts? I especially would like to hear from T-nex and Alcar (mainly because they know WAY more about this than me). We've talked about a lot of shit so far. Let's start doing some of it. I'm looking for anyone who will be will to create/participate in any of the aforementioned topics. |

Anyways, i don't see how i could help more than other with the RPG-thingy..: Actually only Alcar has the power of creating forums :P i think soo... As for some fan-game... i think SligStorm has some skills in game-making, but people don't really value them so i dunno... |
No, just no. Let's get some proper coding in here. No shitty little renaming units in proper games.

For the fangames, I think it'd have to be something lots of/all members could help with to some degree, whether it be coding and programing, the digital art, to storyline writing, offering designs for characters/ennvironments/objects, suggesting gameplay ideas and innovations etc. I can help with the latter three, and I know a couple of guys via forums who can do the former two, but I've been out of touch with them for a while. Although I'll try and find them again I I can.
The idea of Non-Oddworld RPG is something I agree with, for reasons I stated in the other topic. Split it away from Non-Oddworld Fanstuff and give it its own area, that'd bring in new members, maybe bring back old members, and give current members who normally just participate in one or two areas more stuff to be part of. |
OWF Game
I have made a template for you all to relish on. Criticism/Suggestions appreciated. With a fan game, I believe we would need more coders on the forums... I mean, we basically have everything else. Anyone who knows how to code would be appreciated. |

I'm a coder; I have experience with C++, Java and Win32 (windows programs) so I could play a part, if someone else comes up with the artsyfartsy graphics stuff, regarding which I have 0% talent.

I suggest we use an existing game engine and work off that. I'm not suggesting we just rename units, I'm talking total conversion. Creating an entire game from scratch is near impossible, unless you seriously know what you're doing.
I can make textures with Photoshop, and objects with 3D Studio Max (if the game were to be 3D of course). I also have experience in level design. |
As for the fan game thing, I'm happy to design some new oddworldly characters, enivroments or architecture.

I could help with that too, I have lots of little odd designs floating around in my head. For example, a land jellyfish (kinda stupid).

That game looks promising, though the uninstall program wanted to get Windows ME off my computer. :confused:
