Hello. I don't now about you all, but where I live (australia), There is a serious problem in the schools. Not the education, or the teachers, but the students vocabularies.

Observe: "Star Wars is gay"

"Ohh you just touched. Your so Queer"

" He ****s his x-box 'caus he loves it so much"

You get the idea. I have been putting up with this crap all my life.

P.S. I have no ill will towards gay people. Everyone is different.

Yes. It's evolution. Stupid people reproduce more, showing us that in biological terms, intelligence is an evolutionary dead end.

When people say 'That's gay', and they mean it in a bad way, it's not always a homophobic comment, it's just become a saying that people don't even think about. Just like if someone says 'Shut up, you're a dick', it doesn't mean they actually think they are a giant penis and are afraid of them.

Anyway, yes. Teenagers can be viciously stupid, arrogant, and prejudiced. It's all those hormones, it is. They'll grow out of it, hopefully.

Nope, from what I've seen, the only thing on his show are over-zealous opinions and broad generalizations. There are rarely any real facts presented in Mencia's rants.

Don't get me wrong, he's hilarious and all, but the show is basically one big soapbox for him to stand on.

Facts- can be proven without much room for doubt. Ex: A two-dimentional triangle has 3 sides.

Opinions- Something that can easily be debated. Ex: Carlos Mencia is funny.

Speaking for myself, I went to an all-boys school where 'gay' was the standard insult, used constantly and without reference to any sort of sexual preference (I'm reminded of a quote, though I don't remember where it came from: "You have a girlfriend, that's so gay!").

In any case, people mostly seem to grow out of it by the time they leave school. Which is not to say that I've never heard it at university, but there it is mostly done tongue in cheek; taking the piss out of the insults kids used back in high school.

I think it's generally credited to Albert Einstein but it is probably made up completely.

Carlos Mencia isn't funny because he tells the same jokes over and over again. He just does that stupid mongoloid voice followed by his "latin yell," and that somehow makes people think that what he said was funny.

I remember his standup special from a couple years ago. That was actually funny, because his jokes were fresh and original. Now it's just the same thing... OVER AND OVER AND OVER. Boring.

And no, I'm not going to say something on-topic, because I have no idea what this thread is about. Like, are we saying that people shouldn't use "gay" as an insult or something? Well... yeah. Everyone knows that. For all I know, this is a Carlos Mencia-themed thread... :p

I thijk Carlos Mencia only exists on Comedy Central is because they needed another nonwhite comedian who makes fun of his own race to replace Dave Chapell. Chapell was funny and creative, Mencia is just building off of his sucess and innovations. It's the death Comedy Central. In other words, Carlos Mencia is nothing but a pretender to the crown of Dave Chapell.

I don't get this thread. Which in itself is enought for me to close it, but i'm so nice so i'll let it stay open if someone explains it to me.
