Info about Oddworld and quote Sherry in Aug. 2005 Wired Mag regarding EA

I just got the latest issue of Wired yesterday, it has an article regarding EA games and their involvment in movie franchises. Part of the article discusses how they ignore any desire for involvment of the film directors and the game adaptations (e.g., Peter Jackson & LOTR games, Francis Ford Coppola and the upcoming Godfather game). Here's the snippet regarding Oddworld:

:

But such stories have a way of getting around Los Angeles. CAA client Lorne Lanning, the creator of the popular Oddworld gaming universe, recently decided to nix a partnership with EA that would have meant developing a game and then shopping it as a film idea. Instead, he opted to approach Hollywod first. If EA wants a shot at whatever Lanning and a movie studio want to come up with, it'll have to get in line. "Why would we put the fate of our property in the hands of a publisher like EA?" asks Lanning's partner Sherry McKenna. "Look at the Coppola situation. It doesn't matter how much power you have if you have the difficulties with the creative talent in the other media".
So nothing enlightening with regards to a next project, just that it seems they don't like EA much. Anyway, the article should be online sometime next month at http://www.wired.com/wired/

I have a subscription to the magazine and it arrives in the mail a couple of weeks before it hits the news stands.

Ah, you lucky dog.
Hmm, anyway this means they don't do nothing.

Oh yes! Go Sherry! *dance*

Well, the article should be up sometime today. I hope it goes up soon, as this is my only chance for a week to see it.

it's no secret OWI doesn't like EA anymore...
look at the commercial faillure of OSW.

that game could have been a Monster Hit but EA didn't do anything to help OWI
