Fave oldies?

Well, if you used to or still play Old games, then please post your fave here :)

My all-time favourite games are Jazz Jackrabbit, which i spendt hours playing when i was a lil' kid. It's a game about a green rabbit who has to defeat some evil turtle and save a princess. But don't worry, it's not as bad as it sounds like :P

I also played Comand and Conquer, which i think all of you know. I loved being the scorpion, since they had the coolest weapons and vehicles. My favourite colour is also red, and my zodiac is the scorpion.

Oh yea, and Wolfenstein is a classic. :)

SeaRex 07-23-2005 10:46 AM

Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Best Sonic game ever.

Vectorman was also a Genesis classic.

And Super Mario World 3. Fun like a biznatch. Plus... YOSHI!

Oddish 07-23-2005 11:10 AM

Worms. I still love that game, it's still fun nowadays espiecially in mulitplayer . It cracks me up too :p

sligster 07-23-2005 12:00 PM

Primal Rage.

This was the first game I had ever played, and I've always loved it.

My fav characters were Talon and Vertigo.

YESH! I loooved that game. Haven't played it in a while though. I vaugley remember a Christmas special in the snow, mind you. They should release JJR on GBA.

YESH! I play it on GBA still. <3 any iD software title.

The early Mortal Kombats (1 and 2) ruled. Street Fighter is inferior to Mortal Kombat. Muahaha!

BAH! I'll just give the list:
Rise of the Triad
Duke Nukem
Dungeon Keeper 1 and 2
Chomper (Pacman ripoff)
Harvest Moon
Oddworld (Hey, it's almost a decade old now http://oddworldforums.net/images/smilies/d_tongue.gif)

More later when I can think.

Talon and Diablo for me (Blizzard was a close third). What a great game. :)

As for old games, Earthworm Jim was fabulous, as was Final Fantasy 7.

Abe16 07-23-2005 04:59 PM

Anyone ever played Boogerman or Cool spot? Boogerman is funny and cool. Coolspot is pretty cool, I like how they use 7Up signs for lives.

OMFG!!!!!!!111!!!1!!!one!shift1

I loved Coolspot! Unfortunately, I was forced to rent it over and over again, because my parents and I could never find a place that sold it. I eventually settled for the crappy ass pseudo-3D sequel, "Coolspot Goes to Hollywood." That game sucked. But the first one rocked!

Man, that toy store level was effin' hard, though.

Cyber-Slig 07-23-2005 08:01 PM

Coolspot? I remember that game, really good for it's time, I loved it to bits. Alas, it's all gone. Other favs were Medievil 1 and Gex 2 and 3.

Coolio! Boogerman was a sweet game, as was Cool Spot. Not my favorites, but still very enjoyable. I didn't think anybody else had played these gems.

These three games stand out among others:
-Earth Worm Jim
-Donkey Kong Country 2
-Super Mario World

Al the Vykker 07-23-2005 10:24 PM

My favorite semi oldie would have to be Goldeneye N64.

Abe16 07-23-2005 10:36 PM

Donkey Kong 2 was awesome. I liked SMW, I still play it just to get thje secret easter eggs, i do that for DK2 also. Alien vs. Predator for SNES is awesome to.

What's up with that one easter egg that is unlocked after beating "Special"(I believe that's what it's called)? It completely alters the game. Really trippy stuff.

Abe16 07-23-2005 11:23 PM

SPOILER WARNING: if you haven't ever played SMW please do not read, please read if you've played and gotten the secret, or you just don't care.

When you beat Special with all those werid names like "Far out" or, "awesome" (Not werid, every Koopa you meet will have a werid Mario head and the map screen will have a western look. Thank you for your time.

Heh, same here. Except Wolfenstein, I never even played that, so I can't judge it. ;)

So, in no particular order, here's some the old games I like (and have) that I still play:

-Command & Conquer (once again, same as you I liked the scorpion side)

-Jazz Jackrabbit (I don't have the first anymore, sadly, but I still have the second)

-Descent

-Dark Reign

-Rayman
-

-Descent
Heh, I used to play that at my friends house when I was a youngun. It was pretty good.

-Command & Conquer (once again, same as you I liked the scorpion side)

NOD, you f*cktards.

My favourite old games are:
- The Sonic series (I still have the Master System games I had of them, but I never had a Megadrive so the Sonic Mega Collection has been one of my best friends lately)
- Gain Ground
- Golden Axe Warrior
- Wonderboy 3: The Dragon's Trap (Holy shit this game was amazing)
And possibly more.

Godlesswanderer 07-24-2005 02:36 AM

I loved most Megadrive games. Back then I never played a bad game.
Oh and also, Vib Ribbon was cool (although it's not that old).

Kimon 07-24-2005 06:14 AM

Ah yes, I forgot.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert.

Destiny Royal 07-24-2005 07:11 AM

Wolfenstein - The my first game of PC
Doom - Also
Jazz Jackrabbit - Nice Game
Tomb Raider - I am very scary when I was little :P
I forgot someone...When I have memory i post here

Godlesswanderer 07-24-2005 02:48 PM

Oh how I love mangled English.

T-nex 07-24-2005 03:26 PM

NOD, you f*cktards.

Please take it easy... :S
Btw, i call them the scorpion, because i was used to calling thme that since i was a kid, and didn't know they were called NOD. I know very well that they are called NOD and GDI

:

I think you missed out some news ;) It has been out on GBA for a while. But believe me, it's nothing like the original. They pretty much ruined the game with the whole new design, and boring gameplay.
Not worth buying :(

I did the same sort if thing, actually. But it was a bit odd seeing as we were both sort of a contrast; he used to just go charging at enemies with level 1 lasers and concussion missiles at point-blank range, but I was the more strategic type, trying to conserve as much shields as possible. (And, yes we used to play co-operative mode)

:

NOD, you f*cktards.

Yes, I am aware of that. But scorpion sounds better, anyway! :p
And if you want to be really picky it's actually the Brotherhood of Nod.

Leeum 07-26-2005 02:52 AM

Duke Nukem 3D FTW! :D I found that in the deep depths of my hard drive last week, the full game is only 50MB and IIRC, the engine is freely distributed now.
MSN me if anyone wants it ;)

Leto 07-27-2005 12:12 AM

I loved Duke Nukem 3d. And Duke Nukem 2, for that matter. But DUke Nukem was ruined when the supposed 'Duke Nukem 3D' came to GBA. It sucked :p. But meh, mindless playing.

Dino 07-27-2005 09:54 AM

Diablo II LoD and Starcraft/Broodwar. As well as Fallout, Fallout 2, and all the usual megadrive (genesis) games. Especially those side scroller aircraft shooters.
