Known Oddworld Creatures

Over the years I have noted down every Oddworld creature I've ever heard about. I'm pretty sure my list isn't complete yet and I would be grateful to anybody who could tell me about creatures I don't know.

EDIT: Max The Mug and other forum goers was kind enough to help me with some of the creatures on my list and I have now revised it. My list now currently contains:

Bats, Bees, Birds, Bolamites, Boombats, Buzzards, Chroniclers, Chippunks, Clakkerz, Colour Birds, Doves, Elderlings, Elums, Fireflies, Fleas, Fleeches, Fuzzles, Gabbits, Gloktgi, Glukkons, Greeters, Grubbs, Guardians, Interns, Khanzumerz, Kintos, Luskans, Meeches, Meeps, Meetles/Mugs, Mosquitoes, Moths, Mudflubs, Mudokons, Musklums, Oktogi, Outlaws, Paramites, Ratz, Scoots/Worry Fish, Scrabs, Scuba Toads, SeaRexes, Shrinks, Shrykulls, Skeeters, Skrikits, Slegs, Sligs, Slogs, Slurgs , Sniper Wasps, Snoozers, Stangs, Steefs, Stingbees, Stunks, Thudslugs, Vykkers, Wasps, Wolvarks, Zappflies.

Notes: I have included some mechanical constructs (such as Shrinks) and where there is a different name for the young of a creature I have only included the name of the adult form (Gabbits instead of Gabbiwogs).

I can't find anything missing, yet maybe you can add Mudokon spirits.

Xavier 07-03-2005 09:41 AM

Natives/Slamanders are the same ones as the Grubbs, excepts grubbs is the official name

Munch's Master 07-03-2005 11:35 AM

Here's a question though: What are those other creatures from Stranger's Wrath called? I can't describe them, but I mean the unnamed ones in the 'new species' section of Depths of Oddworld.

I already knew that, I think I entered them all in by accident

I think you're talking about Wolvarks or Scuba Toads.

Just wondering really,What's the real Diffrence Between Slegs an Slogs?! they Looked Kinda the Same,Apart from Some Diffrent Features here an there, If im thinkin of th Right thing for Slegs

Dark Elite_H2 07-04-2005 06:59 AM

There's a big difference in Slegs and Slogs.

First thing, Slegs have ears, and have I recalled, didn't see any on Slogs.
Slegs are different colors, when Slogs are red.
I've noticed one little thing. I haven't seen any eyes on them. Similar things include two hind legs.

Munch's Master 07-04-2005 10:08 AM

Also don't forget that Slegs have horns.

Dark Elite_H2 07-04-2005 12:01 PM

Horns? Didn't know Slegs had horns....IT'S ANOTHER NEW DISCOVERY FER ME...I feel so damn stupid...

Oddish 07-04-2005 12:22 PM

It makes things much easier when using pictures.

Ahh, there we go. Slegs have hump-backs, while Slogs don't. Slegs have tusks, when Slogs don't. Slegs have more teeth and a weird nose, when Slogs have rounded noses. The underbellies are different. Slegs have bigger, longer mouths, Slogs have smaller, shorter chops. I'm not going in to details, but you can definately see the difference between a Slog and Sleg now.

1%ers are just an early design for Mugs. Meetles and Mugs are the same species. Almighty Raisin and Elderlings are the same species. Minions are just a class of Outlaw. Larvae are just the larval form of Sligs or Meetles. Scoots and Worry Fish are the same species.

Appart from that, well done. It takes great observation to get all those down. The only obvious addition I can make is Sniper Wasps. I might also be tempted to add the Wasps depicted in The Art of Oddworld Inhabitants (as opposed to the bees that made it into the game, which just look like regular Earth bees), the mosquitoes and moths shown on section front pages in the same book, and Luskans and Musklums, also from the book.

You could get pedantic and split the birds into the Dove-like birds Mudokons transform into, the large blue birds found in OSW and the desert buzzard designed for AO. Maybe the buzzards in OSW, too.

Don't lead me down the route of unaccounted species vocalisations heard in game levels.

Sinlight 07-05-2005 07:42 AM

Cool, thanks for all the info Max, I didn't really know what all the creatures were, I just added them in as I found them. Time to edit my list...

Munch's Master 07-05-2005 07:49 AM

Max, how do you know everything about Oddworld? Please tell me? Are you Lorne Lanning? But Slegs and Slogs have lots of differences, including what Dark Elite said, and: Slegs have 3 toes per foot, Slogs have 4, Slogs have crests, Slegs don't, and Slegs are various colours, while Slogs are reddish.

Wil 07-05-2005 09:33 AM

:

Max, how do you know everything about Oddworld?

By sacrificing a good portion of my Life.

I seriously doubt Lorne goes and recounts every teensy species that's ever appeared on in Oddworld games. He has large-scale visions to birth.

Conker_Rocket 07-05-2005 09:43 AM

Some oddworld creatures

Here are some oddworld pictures.

Dipstikk 07-05-2005 09:48 AM

Yeah. Those...those are great, CR.

I can't handle this guy today. Nurse! My medication!

Leto 07-05-2005 08:35 PM

No, Conker_Rocket, just, no. :spam:

I was just waiting for Max to come in and prove you all wrong. OHWAYO!

Xavier 07-06-2005 04:06 AM

C_R, we know... and this isn't realy an addition to the topic, thus useles
don't do that again.

Slig stopper 07-07-2005 10:20 AM

remember that slogs dont explode when they hit you!!

Munch's Master 07-07-2005 12:19 PM

^^ You confuzzled me a minute there, but then I realised you were comparing Slogs to Slegs when they attack. Anyway I think tht's it for differentb species, but what do we know bout the more obscure ones i.e: Kintos, SeaRexes, Worry Fish, Meeches, basically anything that hasn't been really covered in the games or official site. *turns to Max thec Mug*. I bet you know a lot about them Max.

Fuzzle Guy 07-07-2005 12:25 PM

What the hell are 1%ers?

Kimon 07-07-2005 01:06 PM

Someone should learn to read before posting.

Ho, wait a sec. Slogs attack you and then eat you.
Though Slegs attack you and go all vacuum. Like they void into you.(Now I think of it they can be a breeded and highly mutated form of a slog.)
They don't explode.

Dark Elite_H2 07-08-2005 09:36 AM

I don't remember Slogs exploding when they attack you. I remember them bitin' yer ass and once you're down, yer dead. Explode....where'd you get that crazy idea...

Munch's Master 07-08-2005 10:25 AM

He meant that Slegs fade away after attacking, but Slogs don't.

Slig stopper 07-09-2005 07:38 AM

I probably wasn't paying attention, it looked to me as if they exploded on contact and caused you damage, i'l check

Salamander 07-09-2005 06:53 PM

depths of odd has a list of all known creatures of oddworld, but the site hasnt been updated in a while,
outlaws a species?

Munch's Master 07-10-2005 01:24 AM

Depths of Oddworld is gone, the domain name has expired and it sadly ain't coming back. Outlaw isn't exactly a species, more of a class of status, as there are wolvarks within outlaw groups. So I'd say it is more of a faction, from what I'd go on.

Oddish 07-10-2005 07:33 AM

outlaws a species?

Yes, they are.
