Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesus!
Following the suit of countless.... nice people, I thought I'd make a thread comemorating my short leave from the forum. It was what, a couple of weeks? Anyway, it's a trend that needs following because a lot of important people would otherwise miss any replies to threads I will possibly make.
I think I left because yet again, my fan fiction gathered a dismal amount of replies, whilst stories that were, quite frankly, crap, got a lot of replies. Naturally, it's because it didn't catch the interest of enough people, whilst stories with four line chapters, appalling grammar and spelling do. Anyway, it's made me bitter. I suppose it's a boat most fanfic writers in this forum sail in at one point. I notice that Dave's back with his story, which is pure awesome and a must read. For me. I also notice a lot of ****tards remain (well, some are staff members, so they would have hardly left...) Anywho, enjoy this lovely thread, be assured, any negative things I've mentioned were not relating to YOU at all! |
I love you. Come to employee lounge with me and Max. We can go to our snuggle corner:)

Welcome back Esus, I remember thee well. And you are cool. |
Yeah, those crappy fanfictions suck. Good thing Neph and I have some good ones to hold up as a shining example of how far you really can take your Oddworld geekiness. :D
Welcome back, and I love you too for your speech on crap-fics. Want a Hobo / Dipstikk slash fiction? ...Because I don't. Eew. |
Oh, you guys!

Welcome back, Esus. ;) I wish you would've continued your story-I read it and it was really good. :( There are some good stories on here and some that could....ermmm....use some work. :/ But I know how you feel-I've written fanfics on other forums and I'd get maybe one or two replies while the ones that were completely random and made no sense whatsoever got a truck-load of replies. It's basically a slap in the face to anyone that has worked hard on a story and planned it out for many weeks/months. It's quite sad, really-especially because of the fact that it doesn't just happen on this forum, but on all of them. :/

I haven't read an Oddworld fanfic since the very first ones were written around the time of Abe's Exoddus's release, and I don't plan on getting involved now. I've only ever read one fanfic that didn't deeply disappoint me, and that was Following the Bull's Eye.
I would love to read an Oddworld fanfic that did satisfy me, though. Maybe on my return I'll have time to look for some, but I doubt it. |
Ooh, I agree with Oddchick. Fanfiction.net is the best place to look at the rubbish stuff and ignore the great stuff.
I think it's cause everybody likes looking at the really bad stuff so they can feel shocked about how bad they are. A good story needs to be outstanding to rival a bad story in effectiveness, even though it will be a much better read! Anyway, when did you last reply to any of mine? Cause it was a looooooong time ago! I'll have to go check yours out now, soon as I finish me lunch. |
I didn't know you had been writing a fan fiction, if I had I probably would have read it.
I've worked out that there seems to be a formula for most fan fictions: "The amount of comments the story receives is inversely proportional to the quality of the story." Anyway, welcome back. |
