Best album of all time.

Name it. I'm interested as to the outcome of this thread.

Heh, impossible. I'm sure we'll be having a few arguments here.

Xavier 06-18-2005 04:32 AM

lets start...

Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon

It's definitely up there, but it in my eyes it has some weak songs.

that's definitely a contender. it has NO weak songs. it's a concept album and it pulls it off nicely.

as for me, i would have to go with city of caterpillar - self-titled or godspeed you! black emperor - yanqui U.X.O.

I dunno... Pink Floyd drives me nuts, what with their ringing clocks and army of walking hammers. :p

I'd say The Eels, Souljacker. I like it a bunch.

I prefer The Wall.

But my vote goes to Dream Theater - Images and Words.
If I could describe it in one word it would be: Amazingnessandabsolutemasterpieceness.

Olivia Tremor Control-Black Foliage vol. 1

Buy it. Love it.

I have a bunch of contenders. I don't think I could ever even name just one album.

First, the lesser-knowns.

Frank Zappa:
The Grand Wazoo
The Yellow Shark
We're Only In It for the Money
Uncle Meat
Burnt Weeny Sandwich
One Size Fits All
Civilization: Phaze III

Ween:
The Pod
Quebec
The Mollusk

Now, the well-known contenders.

Pink Floyd:
The Wall
Dark Side of the Moon
Wish You Were Here

The Beatles:
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Abbey Road

There may be more to come.

Damn ****ing strait. ;)

Of course, none of us could come to the conclusion that one album is the best ever. We all have different opinions of music.

Here are some...

~Placebo: Black Market Music, Placebo

~Tom Waites: Blood Money

Some more later perhaps.

Hobo 06-20-2005 09:03 AM

Bob Marley - Exodus

I assume Greatest hits don't count:p

Hmmm.

Metallica - Ride The Lightning. Just kill Escape

Beatles are good, just not that good.

Led Zepplin - Led Zepplin IV

OANST 06-20-2005 10:22 AM

The Beatles aren't that good? Blasphemy!
