ATF Art
Heres my new re-done design for the ATF. The layout etc. was influenced heavily by the Slig designs in The Art of Oddworld.
I think the rough sketch lets the page down slightly, but nevermind. Heres a few features: Mask: Right Side - Communications Aerial, and adjustable moving/zooming eye which can extend to approximately 3 metres. Right Side - Regular eye which contains the main sensors. (Vision modes in both eyes can be switched between regular, negative, thermal and electrical) Comms. microphone, and a small drill and pincers for facial repairs. Arms: Right - Back of hand houses a vital sign reading screen (using the cable attached to the wrist) Left-Entirely mechanical. Houses a shotgun on the forearm (activated by the clenching of the fist, and then fired via neural output), an ammo clip housing shells to the right of the gun (combination of machine gun clip and shoutgun shells allows more ammo to be carried), ATF insignia, Medical Syringe, Buzzsaw for accident situation Pants: Contain more fuel, and house a single Rocket within the centre. Also clips Slig into pants, meaning they cant be taken off. Ever. Chest Plate: Front- On the right plate, is a small screen which shows the Sligs number, on the left plate is a large black stamp showing their division number. Back- Where all the pipes and arm pipes attach. The device plugs into the spinal column, allowing readings to be taken accurately, and aiding the control of mechanical parts. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...0/lastscan.jpg |
WOW! that's cool dude!
but what's an AFT in fact? |
Its an Anti-Terrorist-Force, the 'terrorist' being Abe and any possible allies of Abe.
Its from my fan-fic. Actually, I still have a copy of the profile I gave to Jacob last year... *copy and paste* ATF Profile: The ATF are cybernetically enhanced Sligs, recruited for their skill and performance. They are a specialised branch of Magog Cartel forces, heavily trained in the hidden ATF HQ. Once recruited, ATF members are brainwashed and de-programmed repeatedly to remove all sense of emotion. Some of weaker mind can be reprogrammed, but most are too far gone to return to normal. They take orders from the high command of the Cartel's War Generals. They follow strict procedures to solve all problems, and rely heavily on intelligence and logic, not understanding emotion. They act basically like machines, and are much more reliable than other Sligs, as they do not fear or react to pain. All ATF members are equipped with the advanced bio armour; nick named ‘Red-Rust’ by the normal Sligs. Masks, legs, and their main weapon, their Mech-Claw are all made from this. All these pieces of equipment have multiple functions and hidden parts, to resolve almost any combat or infiltration situation. If ordered they have the authority to take over and quarantine any industrial site with its surrounding land, and seize its profit, if it is in the best interests of the Magog Cartels safety, with or without the Company owners consent. ATF members command a vast array of vehicles and weaponry, including tanks, flying landing craft, and mechanical armoured bikes, also made from ‘Red Rust’. I havent re-read it, so there may be some mistakes in there... |
This is really, really good! I had no idea you were such a talented artist!
|
Are you guys sure you're posting on the right page?
On my screen the resolution is really bad! :-P But if you like it, I'm posting another picture in the Non-Oddworld Art section |
Those are awsome! Great work man, I like it. You are a good artist. I like the ideas and desgnes you come up with.
|
Cheers.
Heres the 2004 original if anyones interested. (shows you the colours, I guess) |
I like the first ones a lot, but the colored one not so much. He just looks like he has no skin. He just looks like he's made of mus-cles.
|
aww, the colored one wrecks it up a notch, maybe its an idea to keep the red color a bit darker.
|
Wow! Those are all really good, draken90!! I love the second one-he looks so cool! :D I especially enjoy the detail that you put into his armor. ;)
|
What? The second one's the bad one. (Thats the coloured one)
But, Like I said, the coloured one is over a year old (and the colours have faded a bit too) |
The colored image looks very two-dimentional, and the mechanical parts look kind of shambled together. I liked the first one better, it made more sense to the eye.
|
Exactly.
Maybe I should take the old pic down, in case people get confused between the first one posted, and the first one chronologically. |
Actually, I meant what I said. I liked all of your drawings, actually. I didn't think the second one was horrible, but once I looked at it again, I was able to observe it a little better and noticed the bad spots. It could've used some work, but I didn't think it was absolutely terrible. ;)
|
Like I said, its like a year old, so I dont really mind
|
Ok, then. Well, I hope to see s'more art from ya soon. :)
