General questions

I'm new to forum rpg's and I want to know how does it work?I noticed that unlike Dungeon and Dragons, there's no DM to describe everything. And how do I proceed in a fight?

Hello there,
Please read the rules: http://www.oddworldforums.net/showthread.php?t=11928

I am not familiar with Dungeons and Dragons, and what is a DM?

Anyways, it's not like it at all, i can see.

Well, the RPGs here, are based on Text, it's like a story where evrybody can write on it, using their own characters. It's like when you play with someone actually, just on Forums. Youcreate a character for an RPG and start posting in it.
You can interact with evrybody. It's a bit difficult to explain.
If you're in doubt, please check out the Work At Rupture-Farms RPG, it shows how it's done: http://www.oddworldforums.net/showthread.php?t=10647

[QUOTE=T-nex] I am not familiar with Dungeons and Dragons, and what is a DM?

its sort of the *god* of the rpg who sets the rules and sets the landscape and so on, pretty much a moderater who does not play just observes and enhances the story.

i hate to post twice when no one has replied,

i think when you attack another player do not continue to attack them until they post a reply, and dont say how they react, oh and give them time to react, for example

Bad:
Guy slashes Dude, Dude bleeds
Guy Stabs dude, dude dies

Good:
Guy leaps forward for a slash on dude dude
Dude dodges, Dude aims a kick at Guy's face

just dont be stupid!

Actually everything you just said, salamander, can be found in the RPG rules.

And if you don't like to double post then edit the original post to fit whatever you're saying now.

If you do feel the urge to try and add to the rules, do so in the "RPG rules" thread. As in the one that was existing before you came and made your own.
