No more pencils, no more books, no more teacher's dirty looks.

Ha! I did it, I am officially a high school graduate. Now if only I can get that pesky college out of the way, I'll be set.

Wow. It's like a whole new chapter in my life is opening in front of me. Yayzers, now I have the entire summer to goof off until I go to Manatee Community College in the fall.

Things on my big "To Do" list:
  1. Complete my fanfic
  2. Draw
  3. Sleep
  4. Eat
  5. Eat some more
  6. Work off this flabby spare tire
  7. Fuse a real spare tire to my torso to replace the old one
  8. Hunt down the elusive Jackelope
  9. Take a trip up to Minnisota for a two week pre-college program at Minneapolis College of Art and Design (Fo' Reelz)
  10. SEX
  11. Get a job (I need moneys!)

I may omit some of these due to possible bodily harm I would be inflicting on myself or because of near impossibility. So that may mean no Jackelope.

...Maybe a Jackenape, but that's a big "maybe."

*strips NAKED and does the "Graduation Jiggledance *

Oddish 05-19-2005 08:00 AM

Congratz Dipstikk, it's nice your planning your future like that. I have 1 year of school left.

Kimon 05-19-2005 11:32 AM

Yay! Jiggle-dance, jiggle-dance!

I especially like the tire-fusing thing. It sounds promising. :D

Voodoo Hand 05-19-2005 03:59 PM

Good work My Man !
Am sure you will look ever so cool in your flat hat and robe.
Words of wisdom from a wise guy ( that would be me)
1 Sorry to say there are no Jackelopes in Minneapolis. They live much farther west.
2 i got to think that line item #4 and #5 are in direct conflict with #6.

Once ya get that worked out, it looks like a damn fine itinerary for a fun summer.
Keep in mind that #10 is often over rated and always messy, but could stand to be moved up the list somewhat.
Anyway , good going. :spin: :spin:

Leto 05-19-2005 10:15 PM

Aww, no fun to both of those things. :p Well, be merry that your out of that hell hole.

How'd the prom go?

the brew master 05-19-2005 10:41 PM

ugh...i hate proms and school dances in general, everytime i reject someone my house burns down...anyway good luck with your "to do list" dipstikk.

SeaRex 05-20-2005 06:47 AM

Yeah, I just got out too, Dip. And I must say... it feels good.

Now... hibernation. I don't have to set my wretched alarm clock until the big "C" starts a couple months from now. Who knows? I might even get some art done between video games.

Godlesswanderer 05-20-2005 06:49 AM

Ah, you lucky bastard. Not long till I leave though, only 3 or 4 weeks. Then I'm home free! Except college of course.

Also, my school prom was last night. For anyone that's interested, I'll post some pictures in the 'What do you look like? (V4)' thread. Not now though, maybe later.

Abe16 05-20-2005 07:18 AM

I have five more days. The school is thinking of having a party in the cafeteria. But, I don't know.

ANN NEELY 05-20-2005 12:32 PM

School's out! School's out! Teacher let the monkeys out! One was jailed! One prevailed! Both asked God, "How have I failed?"

Lucky person, I am only in 7th grade. School sux...I have 11 days left and counting...
Good luck!

Statikk HDM 05-20-2005 01:20 PM

How long are your school years, Dippstick? I start in late August and I'm not getting out for another week.

Well, congrats on getting out of high school, Dipstikk. ;) I would be graduating next week if I was at my old school (thank God I'm not in that hell-hole anymore! :p), but since I started homeschool so late in the year, then it's going to be a bit longer until I graduate. :/ Well, good luck on that 'to do' list! :p

... Do you people have jobs?

SeaRex 05-21-2005 06:42 AM

... Do you people have jobs?

Well yeah.

Just not in the morning. Meaning I can sleep late.

And it's not like I work full-time. Ass.

I do apologise.
I guess I was just thinking of me, I work in the afternoon and I have to set my alarm on the holidays...

AquaticAmbi 05-22-2005 07:15 AM

One more year to go, and I'll be graduating. Whee, I guess.

This summer I plan to:
~Spend time as much as possible with friends, especially those that have graduated.
~Watch all the movies I've been wanting to watch.
~Read all the books/comics I've been meaning to read.
~Look into taking some more diving courses.
~Go to the beach (with my mom... meh).
~Continue learning to drive and get a car.
~And some volunteer work since my school's Key Club decided to do stuff over the summer.

(Fax: Me brain meats! Oh noez!)

Abe16 05-27-2005 12:43 PM

Sorry if i'm bringing this back but,

SCHOOL'S OUT!!!!
I am so glad! But i'll miss my friends. I only got a couple of my friends phone numbers.

What age are you Americans when you leave High School?
Is your school system pre-school, school, then high school?
How does it work?

Because I've left compulsory education, (well, I'm on study leave, doing my GCSE exams) and I'm 15.

Then I'm going to sixth form college, THEN a college.

SeaRex 06-02-2005 01:06 PM

Our "grades" work like British "years," except off by one, I believe, because of Kindergarten (a kinda/sorta pre-school grade).

We have optional pre-school for very young children, then Elementary School (Kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, depending on the area), then Middle School/Junior High, then High School (usually ninth through twelfth grade).

So students are usually 18 by the time High School ends. Any additional education (college) is purely optional.

Dipstikk 06-02-2005 01:24 PM

:

What age are you Americans when you leave High School?

Well, I was 18, and that's the normal age to leave high school. It depends on whether or not you were held back at all during school.

:

Is your school system pre-school, school, then high school?

Well, you almost have it.

First, we have a year or so of Preschool. I can't remember how long it was since it was so long ago. I remember I bit people and was a pain in the ass, though.

Sencondly, we have five years of Elementary School.

Then comes three more years of Middle School.

And finally, we have four years of High School.

And college is optional, but I'm taking it.

Edit: Damn you, Searex! DAMN YOU!!! :p

drakan90 06-02-2005 01:37 PM

Oh right.

We have Nursery, no real learning (optional)

Then Primary School, which you start at the age of 4 or 5, which goes from Foundation (theres different names for it) to years 1-6, and you leave when you're 10 or 11

The Secondary school, which is Years 7-11, and when you leave you are 15 or 16, like myself.

Then the rest is optional.

Rex Tirano 06-03-2005 05:57 AM

Yeah, I've got a year and 2 months left of secondary school. Joy of joys.

Then it's 2 years of sixth form, a 2 year degree at college and then university.

With exams every year for the next 7 years of my life. >_<

Not what I call fun.

drakan90 06-03-2005 10:36 AM

Ah so you're a year 10?

Edit: Oh wait, two MONTHS. Yeah, I got two weeks left (5 exams)

Kimon 06-10-2005 09:35 AM

I'm free too!! Yes!! Now for 3 months of vegetation...

drakan90 06-10-2005 10:18 AM

Yeah baby!

big bro boogie 06-11-2005 01:52 PM

AAArgh, damn it
first of all, i started the DUTCH-kind of middle school when i was 13, now i'm in second class and i'm 14. Since i am a grammar school pupil i have to stay at middle school for 6 years, which means i'm out when i'm... 1... 2... 18. That sounds pretty equal.
So... no need to get jealous at all, silly me.
Congratulations to all o' ya.
PS: I love quadratical comparisons. lol

drakan90 06-12-2005 01:29 AM

Surely all middle school graduates are sent to other schools?
I cant imagine them letting unqualified 13 year olds fill the population...
