It is with some sadness that I inform you all, that this will be the last time I post on these forums. Deciding to leave the forums has been a hard decision to make, but essentially one that has been unavoidable after the month of deliberation that led up to this point.

This decision has come at a point in my life when many things are changing, and priorities are shifting. There are a lot of things going on that need to be sorted out before I can re-assess my situation and move on, which means that I am in a state of limbo at the moment. But the one thing that is for certain, and that is I cannot continue my commitment to this forum any longer.

I'll be sticking around a while (until tomorrow) to answer questions in this thread, and to pick up any last few PMs. After that I'll be gone. I don't know if I'll be making a visit in the future, and I don't particularly want to make any promises I can't keep, but I'll certainly try to pop in to say hello again and see how you are all doing one day.

So, to conclude, I would like to thank and say goodbye to everyone who has provided me with hours of entertainment and good quality discussion. Thanks go out to: Jacob, Rich, Super Munch, Kimon, Ambi, Searex, Nepharski, Coolmanbizkit, Soulstice, T-Nex, and Oddish. Adios, amigos, it's been fun! I'm gunna miss you all. ;)

Anywho, I have two separate messages for you, depending on who you are. Please don't take offense by my posting both:

a) If you aren't Codek/Mawk/whoever, then I apologize on behalf of everyone who ever accused you for being him, including myself... sort of. (I went back and deleted part of a PM which implied you had some very similar characteristics. Anyway, while you had some ideas and such that I didn't agree with, some intelligence did show through--and a bit of witty humor too at times. For posts showing those traits, you will be missed.

I still think perhaps you take the forums a bit too seriously, and because of that, get a bit defensive too often at harmless comments.

b) If you are codek/mawk/whoever, then well, just tell us. What harm could it do? You are leaving afterall. I bet most members wouldn't get angry over it. I can see why after being banned, you would want to come back... perhaps after regretting past mistakes. (That would also explain why you've seemed to be wanting more special recognition since you'd technically wouldn't be a new member.) Anyway, people can change, and I believe in giving second chances. But since you are leaving, I suppose you're not interested in a second chance.

Of course, you could be Codek, and just trying to see how long you could fool everyone and what kind of drama you could create. In that case, I say you should look into getting a "real" life.

Whoever you are, farewell and stuff--unless it's person b. If you're codek or whoever, there's no point in saying bye then, is there? I'll just be seeing you around on another account someday. :p

The only thing that I'll confess to is that the above is exactly the reason I left. I didn't sign up to put up with this shit, and I'm not going to stay to put up with it either. I recently did a little reading around the forums, just to see how things have been going, and as a result I've ended up removing Facs and Hobo from my list of thanks. I wonder who else harbours a dislike of me but doesn't even have the integrity of character so much as to be forthcoming with one's opinion.

So I'm Reese am I? Great, I finally get a label to help people create an image to attack, just like the wussy Frenchman. Dehumanising an enemy is always the best way to incite a heavier offensive: Gooks in Vietnam, Towelheads in the Gulf - they aren't people, or human beings, just a label. Hey, what about the idiots that I talk about? It's the same with that isn't it? No, it isn't, because they deserve what they get for being an idiot. Unlike them, I am able to form sentences, and make valid points - IE the forums would be a better place if we didn't allow them to get away with so much SHIT. If you read more than two lines, you might've noticed this. But, hey, I don't want to prevent you from using the right to spend $0.02, and trying to brush this under the proverbial carpet.

Can we have a Brick Wall forum? It may help for a variety of reasons - it seems to fit the bill with the "I say we kick the shit out of idiots..." thread, the true subject of which you all continue to try and drag, screaming, from the public eye. I try to make a point, and immediately the overwhelming majority of people start deflecting the attention to a disagreement that they have instigated because they are either too busy calling me reese/codek/mawk, or they're too pig ignorant to understand the actual subject and what is being proposed. Either that or they feign the ignorance to cause me ire (which I highly suspect to be the case...although idiocy is definately latent if not apparant).

To be frank and down to the point, I don't care enough to spend all my time in each and every thread of mine explaining things to people who just don't get it, either deliberately or because they're simply stupid. Also there seems to be many of the type of people who believe that they can justify their own hypocrisy (Read: Dipstikk) but I am disapproved of, forming an anti-idiot argument despite the "fact" that I'm "no angel" myself. Double hypocrisy doesn't have even a fraction of the kind of rhetoric potency required to sum up how exasperating and exacerbating such a literate travesty is. And dealing with it all is more tiresome than running a marathon in a diving suit.

I've moved to a different forum to escape all this, and escape it I have. I am now a respected member of a community, which is intelligent enough to not require everything being spelled out in laymens terms.

So, pat yourself on the back Oddworld Forums, because your mountain ranges of stupidity are defeating even the most eloquent of lingual climbers. All this place is ever going to be is a tiny little insignificant community of morons that barely even scrape the bottom 1% of understanding anything... at all. I am left both incredulous and embittered at the general incoherancy of this place, rest assured you have made my blacklist, and from here on in, I will no longer speak with praise or approval of the Oddworld Forums, and only remember those who made this site somewhat bareable. Looking back now I have no idea what possessed me to sign up here - I don't even like you or Oddworld.

Dino's most recent post is not without provocation. He chose an unlikely time to join the forums, right about after Mawks banning due to questionable avatar choices. And since he has been a member, he has ben acused as Mawk, or Codek. Or, on ocassion, Reese. But now, he's just been driven away by lots of people's opinions.

Super Munch appears to get the idea, but I've not been driven away by opinions - I've been driven away by the fact that I can't use this damn forum because whenever I do, I get bogged down each time by the incomprehensible amount of explaining that I need to do to people who take the topic off topic, probably in an attempt to cause drama. Then my explaining is construed as arguing and thinking that I'm always right. Like now for instance. I can't even come back to check up on stuff without seeing that shitty stuff is being said about me... and it compells me to respond. Who wouldn't want to? If it's your reputation on the line somewhere, well... you want a fair trial. Suffice to say it, just throwing a couple of mildly offensive words around (moron, asshole, idiot) doesn't really rectify the situation. Making a wordy post does, because it should be apparant from such posts to those of you who are actually intelligent that I am not what these people say I am. And all of those who are too stupid to understand what is being said don't matter.

But they still get in the way, so a lay explaination may be in order later.

Perhaps I do act like mawk or whoever, but what does it matter? These people clearly already stubbornly believe that whenever I express an opinion I'm not just adding my two cents, no, I also expect everyone to agree with me. Like I even fucking care if anyone agrees with me or not. It's never stopped me before. Infact I wouldn't have such a problem with people disagreeing with me if they actually understood/comprehend enough to come to a legitimate conclusion. There is a difference between arguing and clarifying - it's apparant to most people but obviously some here apparantly do not understand it, or feign a lack of understanding since it's a convenient doorway to easy trolling. Even this post in itself can be accused of me believing that I'm always right. To them it's not clarifying/arguing my case, or explaining myself to someone who does not fully understand.

I've seen it done so many times before, it's not even funny. If you misunderstand my opinion, then my correcting you on it does not mean that I'm accusing you of being stupid (although I basically have reached that conclusion now), and it does not mean that I'm trying to convince you to agree with my opinions. I am not "leaving in a huff". I am absolutely emotionally indifferent at the moment. I am leaving because, as I said, normal discourse has become impossible, this forum doesn't suit me, and I have a more busy schedual/priority shift. Technically I'm not leaving, but for the most part, effectively, I am.

As for getting in the last word; I am online, and people are directing dialogue toward me. I'm doing what's logical and expected in this situation, and it's known as responding. Generally, the person who responds does get the last word (that's a side effect of responding to something, since, you know, a response tends to come after not before), unless someone says something after the response that does not require a response. Capische?

I do not "love [you] too much to leave" either. I feel slightly saddened to be parting company with a few people that I have grown to like, but I've only been here a couple of months, not nearly long enough to become permanently attatched. Although some people may argue that I've been here since Reese registered.

Look, Dino. I don't know what your definition of "I'm leaving" is, but in Dipstikkland, that phrase means that you pack your things and walk out the door, and not just say you're leaving and stick around, addressing replies.
