Stranger TV Spots for G4
 

Haven't been here in while, so if somebody already mentioned this...

Anyway...G4 has been playing some awesome TV Spots with Stranger in them. I've seen 2 different ones and they're both fantastic. Animated to perfection! :hungry: Tasty!

Interesting....I'm not sure if I've seen the same thing that you're talking about, but I've seen a few TV specials with SW featured on G4. And you're right-the animation was absolutely perfect! ;)

Which ones are they? I saw the one with Blisterz sneaking up on Stranger on the porch of a house, what's the second one?

I saw it! I was so happy to see it, I only saw it once though, and I don't really remember. I know it was Stranger sneaking up behind someone, and chopping their head off or something. :P I'll look out for it again. If there's more than one, I want to see them all!

I haven't seen any with Stranger in it, but I saw one with Abe, where the mudokons were using ropes to pull the G4 sign up.

I alsosaw the one where Blisterz Booty is sneaking up on Stranger. But nothing else. :(

I saw the one for Game One some time ago (thanks to Xavier ;)), it was great, shame that the quality was low...but great short animation anyway :D
I would like to see the second one..

I liked 'de one when Stranger cuts off, I believe it was a Grubb, in 'de rain. But then 'dere's when Blisterz Booty comes behind's him and nearly knocks 'im silly. :D They's both funny, but great.

This one with the slicing of heads... show me.

I think it was an outlaw he decapitated.Its to big to be a Grubb.

can someone explain exactly what's in those spots please?

I've only seen the one of the TV spots. My brother saw the other.

Anyway...here's a description of the one I've seen.

Stranger is carrying a wiggling sack up a hill in the rain. It's a body bag with an outlaw inside. Stranger flops the bag onto a guillotine at the top of this hill. You hear the outlaw's muffled cries...then Stranger pulls a lever and down comes the blade. The outlaw screems louder. The screen splashes with goo and a portion of the outlaw's scalp falls into a basket. The scalp was cut deep enough that you can see the outlaw's squishy brain. In his brain you see the G4 logo wobbling at you like Jell-O. THE END

Stranger 1) transports an outlaw in a bodybag and 2) kills it even if he captured him alive?

is it me or is this realy weird?

I guess oddworld though it would be more realstic if the outlaw was captured in a bag.
I'm not sure why Strange would want to kill the outlaw capture alive, dosn't realy suit the games. But I like the sound of the gore.

I don't quite like pointless gore, but I gess I have to wait to see this myself to have a real oppinion

Yeah, I feel the same way...it just doesn't seem to fit Stranger to kill an outlaw while captured alive. :/ Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait and see how I feel when I see the tv spot myself. ;)

Who do you think animates these spots? That doesn't sound like something OWI would put together.

Do they give out their models if they are going to be used in promotion? Like that crappy TV show that was a while ago with the character being attacked by slogs.

So nobody has a link to this other G4 commercial? I can't believe it! You'd think it would be somewhere on the interweb.

1) Who is going to promote stranger if it isn't OWI? EA perhaps :p?
2) Actually OWI was involved in that project, they didn't just "sell out" their characters?

i remember that scene, small one about 15 seconds long. but it was still worth taping the entire show!

The Oddworld CG dept. created the network ID's for G4 and Game One last spring.

Well actually the ads are using OWI's characters to promote G4. I figured it was the network piggybacking on OWI's success.

What show is this?

I believe it was a show that came on UPN called "Game Over". Yes, it wasn't that great, but I watched it anyway just to see Oddworld featured in it. And thanks for the info about the spots, AA. ;)
