Karma Kicks in Early for EA
Far be it from me to partake in some good old schaudenfraude but EA just posted their financial results for the fourth quarter 2004 and it came in as a resounding THUD! Profits were reduced by 91% as a result of the basic shoddyness of the in-house games they make.
Perhaps they would have been able to do better in Q1 2005 had they given SW the respect it deserved but they didn't so it didn't and they won't get no sympathy from me. http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...ctronic_arts_6 |
Dang, thats a lot of moolah! But I guess they deserve it, their games weren't nearly as good near the end of the year, and they should have never insulted SW! HISS!
|
Maybe if EA weren't busy whoring out every f*cking football game on the planet...
... I don't really know where I'm going with this... |
I hate goddamn, EA sports. It's the same game, and gets promotionals and great reviews, but when Oddworld askes for a little advertising BAM! they deny 'em.

ya my bro has like every basket ball game theyve made hes like "i need this game"and its the same game as the last and he still sits there and plays it 4 ever
|
Yeah, same with my bro, except he plays baseball all day, I don't know how he does it.
|
I've never seen the point of sports games. Why don't you just go out and kick a football yourself, schmuck?
|
in your Face EA... what do you expect without innovation?
|
They deserve it, what do they expect if they keep releasaing the same game with just a different year tacked onto the title?
EA: 'Let's constantly clone games and squash inovation! What? Profits are down? Gadzooks!' The only thing they're challangeing is consumers willingness to purchase clone, after clone, after clone. If they actually released and publicised something new and exciting (such as Stranger's Wrath) instead of the constant cloning and 'revival' of old ideas they might be a name to make ears prick when mentioned. But why should they bother? Surely they can satisfy gamers with glossy replicas? Serve them right. |
Wowsa! g-sus on a golden chair in front of my blessed TV!
Finnaly those footballpromotin' geeks get what they deserve. Bet they, even after this, wouldn't stop creating those kinda games. And they even cost at least 50 bucks(, or less while time keeps running) But thats why i never buy games wich constantly reproduce themselves, with the same DNA, but another skin. Get what i mean? |

The biggest travesty in the gaming industry is EA calling themselves "Electronic Arts."
There's nothing artistic about the way they develop and present games. They're all about business. That's why people like Tim Shaeffer (Psychonauts), Sony (Ico, God of War), and Konami (MGS, Silent Hill) will always be better. |
the best out of here is still nintendo
they are the ones who realy dare to inovate radically. |

Sequel. Sequel. Sequel. One iteration of a sports game after the next. WTF do they expect? Sports games are their bread and butter, but in my opinion (and the opinions of others, evidently) ESPN was doing it better and for 10 to 30 dollars less on all sports titles. INNOVATE OR DIE TRYING EA, IT IS NOT WORKING ANYMORE!
|
Well, they definately deserve it, especially after all those crappy sports games and Harry Potter games....

Katamari Damacy was from Namco, and only for the Playstation 2. |

I totally hate those simulation games. What's the point in making them anyway?

I think people are allways a bit afraid to try something new, even gamers. |
